Recorded to reel-to-reel analog on the 12th & 13th March 2016 at Sound Park in Northcote, Melbourne with Andrew 'Idge' Hehir. Mastered by Mikey Young. 'Cobra's Blood' stems from the twisted mind of Kit Convict (of priors The Kits). Previous album 'Watch Your Skull' saw the group tour Australia, NZ and the USA including a slot on Memphis' Gonerfest. CIRCUS DAYS VOL. 1- 6 CD box set ( 60s psych) Label:PARTICLES A Compendium of Pop Psych Curios: 104 tracks of weird and wonderful British pop-sike. Contained herein is a library of lost and rare recordings from the Great British psychedelic era; a compendium of pop-sike curios and exotic aural pleasures from the past has been assembled for the connoisseur with regard to the ladies and gentlemen of particular fancy and grand distinction. It was 1966 - music was becoming richer, subtler, more experimental, far more interesting. The industry got into gear and a myriad of one-off records came tumbling out. Some were plain tongue-in-cheek joke psychedelia, whilst others were creating something magnificent. Thats what you have here: 104 tracks, all remastered, the cream of the crop circle, some wacky, like Peter Cook & Dudley Moore on Bedazzled - from the film that caught the spirit of the era (A sample lyric: Girl: "You drive me wild." Guy: "You fill me with inertia.")
Other gems come from the unearthing of one-offs. Recorded in a swathe of bouncy, all-you-need-is Pop-pirate good humour, and a floppy hat innocence, the flood of summer-fun, go-go goodies lasted until the early 70s. While the 'real' groups became ever more laid back (some almost horizontal), pop-sike flourished.
And finally, theres a smattering of curious Mystery Tracks throughout.
This is the OFFICIAL box set, with original sleeve artwork faithfully re-produced and sanctioned by the original Strange Happenings label. Fantastically entertaining, in-depth, well-researched 56-page book written by the founder of cult label Dig The Fuzz, with rare, never-before-seen photos of the artists COMP CD $42 SKU:12448

NEDERBEAT:BEAT,BLUFF & BRANIE - Vol 4 (60s DUTCH BEAT) Label:CONCERTO At record conventions, the singles and albums of Dutch beat groups from the '60s are still among the most sought after objects. This so-called Nederbeat offers a perfect musical reflection of the optimism and vitality of those years. The creme de la creme of this movement is featured in this excellent compilation series. Limited to 500 copies on grey vinyl COMP LP $32 SKU:17892
GATHERED LEAVES- VA(A Ptolemaic Terrascope Sampler) Label:SUGARBUSH his ultra limited pressing (only 200 LP's made) celebrates the music released and championed by the great '80s and '90s psych fanzine THE PTOLEMAIC TERRASCOPE. Founded and run by Nick Saloman (a.k.a. Bevis Frond) and Phil McMullen, this great mag dug up outsider music wherever it existed and also included limited edition CD's with the magazine. So here is a second volume of collected works, issued for the first time on vinyl! LP $28 SKU:18141
GO GOS - LET'S HAVE A PARTY IMPORT-Label:RADIO SILENCE LIVE AT EMERALD CITY, CHERRY HILL, NJ, AUGUST 31, 1981-WMMR FM BROADCAST'. Recorded just as the Go-Go's were hitting the height of their fame in 1981, this is a high quality FM radio broadcast from WMMR FM. Their classic debut album, 'Beauty And The Beat', had been released just a few months prior, and 'We Got The Beat' was the radio hit of the summer LP $18 SKU:18082
HUBBS, STAN - Crystal (80s stoner rock) Label:COMPANION RECORDS Finally the official vinyl reissue of Stan Hubbs' 1982 Crystal LP is available. 500 faithful repros were made of this confounding slab of stoner rock, each including a replica of the original 16 page booklet. Crystal was recorded in Hubbs' rural Sonoma county living room and just like the original, this reissue was mastered and cut by Paul Stubblebine, pressed by RTI and housed in heavy, old-style jackets." LP $39 SKU:12943
JOOK- Jook Rule OK (great glitter R&R prev. on BOMP)Label:SING SING Jook came on like bastard sons of The Who and, if this first ever collection of the band's entire recorded works achieves anything, it should be to elevate the band from the glitter bin, and back to their rightful place as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll acts ever. LP $23 SKU:15340
NEW CREATION-Troubled (Obscure 70s garage) -Label:COMPANION RECORDS Originally pressed in 1970, this extraordinary garage demo barely made it outside of its hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia. We hope this vinyl edition will reach folks who were allergic to checking it out in CD form. For the LP, 500 exact repro copies were pressed at RTI with heavy, textured jackets produced by Stoughton. Just like the original these were printed by letterpress. 'The New Creation is amongst my favorites, the sincerity and verve in the performances remain fresh to the ear and heart thirty years later. Every track here is a magical doorway into a time when liberal thinking was ascendant, minds were expanding, music was filled with new ideas, and the kids were ready to fly as soon as they mastered a few guitar chords. The opening sound collage here may as well have been titled "Food for Thought," seems like every issue and idea except the kitchen sink is expressed. Each track on this LP is a potential personal fave, from the VU stylin' "Sodom & Gomorrah" to the achingly beautiful "Wind." Spiritual Revolution, "That irresistible Man from Galilee is quite upsetting the show!"..."Here in the 20th century, fantastic times with God!" Indeed. Circular melodies, terrific melodic garage band atmosphere -- this is a special experience, and one that gets better with every play. Long live the New Creation!' -- Paul Major, vinyl archaeologist, co-editor of Enjoy the Experience." LP $39 SKU:18089
NUNS - Rumania (’86 Calif. punk)-Label:RADIATIOn After several years of inactivity, California punk-wave group Nuns reunited in 1986 for this, their second LP. 'Rumania' focused on Jennifer Miro's synth-goth tendencies and, though it fell quickly into obscurity at the time, the years have been kind to it and its now regarded as a minor classic of '80s dark wave. Released on the soon-to-be-bankrupt PVC label, original copies now fetch a hefty sum online. Thankfully, the kind souls at Radiation have rescued this LP for the next generation, reissuing it on vinyl for the first time ever.

This is their first 45 from 1967 and is the pearl amongst the swine. All downstroked guitar and snotty vocals, this verges on the inept, but stays on the right side of moronic. Uptempo with jagged guitars, a rudimentary beat is the order of the day, and like all great platters like this, is best served raw. 45 RPM $14 SKU:14411

DENIM DELINQUENT-Complete Collection Book-Label:HOZAC First-ever official Denim Delinquent fanzine compendium, the legendary monolithic bastion of proto-punk journalism. Quite possibly the equivalent of the 'Dead Sea Scrolls' of modern punk fanaticism, and one of the rarest self-produced publications to emerge from the pre-DIY years of the early 1970s. It's such a shame how few sets of eyes have seen these primitive pieces in real life, and that's why it was nothing short of prerequisite to forge this book into reality, which will undoubtedly set the clock back a few years on the standard 'punk' timeline. We couldn't be happier to see the free-form intertwining of heavy rock, proto-punk, and primitive power pop represented with such unbridled enthusiasm, in a time before it was compartmentalized, commodified, and repackaged for the suburban teen market. Denim Delinquent is a true gem of unadulterated punk amateurism, condensed into an incredibly hard-edged slice of the early '70s you can immerse yourself in without pretense or punditry, a true pioneer of the underground press culture right at time in rock history where anything was possible, and the open-ended creativity ran wild. As they say, some of the most far ahead-of-its time music came from this early-mid '70s era, and as the rest of the music world sat idly by and waited to be spoon-fed their mellow mediocrity, some real adventurous wild rockers were right there lapping it up as it was happening in real-time, and the founder/editor/publisher Jim Parrett just so happened to fit this profile. Scientists and physicists can keep toiling away at trying to build time machines, but for us, there's no better vehicle for slipping into another time and place than when you are flipping through the pages of underground magazines like Denim Delinquent. The band illustrations are miniature masterpieces, and the writing is highly infectious, as any good fanzine should be- 100% driven by genuine excitement and a bleeding desire to spread the word. Happening across original copies of the magazine would be instant recognition of museum pieces, so we're proud to present this North American cultural artifact complete with all of the rough edges intact, and with that irresistible and unmistakable excitement literally bleeding off the edges of each page. 200+ pages. 2nd printing of 300." SPACEMEN 3-Live at the New Morning, Geneva, Switzerland, 18.05.1989-Label:SPACE AGE (UK) First CD edition of Live at the New Morning, Geneva, Switzerland, 18.05.1989 by Spacemen 3, originally released in 2014 as a limited-edition vinyl-only release on Swiss label Mental Groove Records. Fold-out card wallet featuring liner notes by Sonic Boom and previously unseen photographs. Digitally remastered by John A. Rivers at Woodbine Street studio in 2015. Recorded in Geneva, Switzerland, during Spacemen 3's 1989 European tour, while the band was in sublime form, this release further cements their reputation as one of the most influential and seminal bands of the space rock and drone rock worlds. As Sonic Boom recalls, "I seem to remember this show more distinctly than most, and always did. Spacemen 3 was a band not overly loved in their day. It was tough, or at least uneasy. Musically people thought we were some sort of twisted joke. Which in some ways we were. You needed to be bloody-minded to make this music at that time. The set presented here, is as it was . . . except the show was twice this length. We tuned and smoked for almost as long as we played. And then our disenfranchise moment, installed to filter the wheat from the chaff in our audiences -- the sprawling 'Suicide' wheeled out here in a long mischievous version. We slipped away mid-song amongst much fog and dry ice. With taped down keys and feeding back guitars propped against our speaker cabs keeping the song pulsating and screaming. Disappearing back down to the already too familiar dressing room. We rolled large smokes and cracked fresh drinks. And finally after an extended 'break' re-appeared on stage. Not to wind down as normal at that juncture, but to re-fire up the piece for a further onslaught. Extending the maelstrom as bloody mindedly as we could. We always 'sensed' when we were unwanted . . . which was most of the time we left the cosy confines of our white 'sprinter' van. Never get out of the van . . . fucking tigers! But then again . . . maybe . . . just maybe . . . and it's only a maybe . . . maybe l don't remember a thing." CD $21 SKU:17457

EVERYWHERE CHAINSAW SOUND - VA- Legendary 1960s US garage psych compilation w booklet Label:FEED THE MIND (UK) Feed the Mind presents a reissue of Everywhere Chainsaw Sound, the legendary 1960s US garage psych compilation. Featuring tracks from many legendary 45s, it includes a 12-page full-color booklet. "In a field full of weeds the earliest garage psych/punk compilations still possess a charm that endears them to collectors. Back in the early 1980s a number of now extremely rare compilations were briefly available via mail order. They almost immediately disappeared onto the shelves of a small but hardcore group of US '60s rock fans. Everywhere Chainsaw Sound was one such compilation that originated in France and was produced in a microscopic numbered edition of only 100 copies. Housed in a plain white card sleeve with handmade artwork, it remains, even to this day, almost unknown by the majority of '60s US garage psych collectors. Inspired by Elektra's Nuggets LP, grey area compilations such as Pebbles, Boulders, and Acid Dreams (PAPR 1007LP/2094CD/2096CD/2097CD) created a demand for underground compilations that grew into the US garage rock reissue market that has since produced many thousands of records. An unceasing demand for music from probably the most exciting period of rock and roll has turned into a minor industry. Thankfully Everywhere Chainsaw Sound is once again available as a limited edition high quality vinyl reissue with improved sleeve notes and sound. You may have some of these recordings on other compilations but somehow the mystery excitement and sense of discovery that fuelled the first era of the garage rock revival is captured on this iconic compilation." --Richard Allen, founder of The Freak Emporium, now writes for Shindig! Everywhere Chainsaw Sound includes tracks by Lincoln St. Exit, The Spiders, The K-Otics, The Scepters, The Reverbs, Strangers, Ken & the Fourth Dimension, The Guilloteens, Fe-Fi-Four Plus 2, Unchained Mynds, Kan Dells, The Spokesmen, The Original Dukes, Heros, The Monacles, The Music Explosion, and Electric Prunes. AHBEZ, EDEN- EDEN’S ISLAND (1960 Psych before the term was even invented!)Label:CAPTAIN HIGH RECORDS (AUSTRIA) It is 1960. Rock 'n' roll has just lost a couple of its protagonists during this and the previous year. The time of the great balladeers has just begun but soon will run out, due to the new and exciting beat invasion. In the US mainstream, the tiki culture has reached a certain peak and is about to collapse, but still goes strong, and with it comes the so-called "exotica" music, a crossover between smooth jazz and swing, Latin grooves, and haunting melodies rooted in global folk traditions, plus weird sound effects that often create a spooky jungle or dreamy island beach atmosphere. See palm trees growing out of your speakers; witness monkeys and parrots having fun in your room. eden ahbez (1908-1995) lived a consistent dropout and hippie lifestyle way before the movement was born in the mid '60s. As a poet and composer, he wrote the hit tune "Nature Boy" that gave Nat King Cole his first big success in 1948. On Eden's Island, originally released in 1960, he approaches the field of exotica music from a different point of view, creating an epic concept album about a utopian society living in peace and harmony on an island far away from the modern western world as we know it. Relaxed grooves; easy-listening swing; Latin patterns; peaceful, dreamy, even transcendent vocal melodies; tinges of folk music from around the world; and a whole color palette of mind-expanding sounds, with narrated lyrics and eden ahbez's wood flute. A truly unique effort; highly recommended to exotica aficionados who, for example, love Frank Hunter's 1959 White Goddess album. Psychedelic music before the term was even invented. LP $24 SKU:16753
