MYTHICA -A WALLET OF WINDS (1971 Brit folk rock) Label:SEELIE COURT Mythica made a one-off pressing in 1971 and they also recorded for the BBC. Their unissued LP is a significant find for fans of the British folk rock Underground of the early seventies. To be filed alongside C.O.B., Dulcimer, Trees, Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention, The Woods Band and Tudor Lodge. Some striking all out Hippie Bohemian colour photos of the band from the time illustrate the cover art, plus a repro of the original acetate sleeve, and sleeve notes by the band. Unbelievably great psychedelic garage rock from 1966-1968. Including songs written by Mars Bonfire, their material is up there with the 13th Floor Elevators, Love and the Seeds in quality, but with an outsider edge to it. Human Expression was a tough as nails deep heavy group who, in spite of releasing three cool singles, never got the exposure they deserved back in the day. A few songs leaked out on vinyl on psych comps ('Optical Sound', 'Love At Psychedelic Velocity' and 'Reading Your Will') but the rest has not been on vinyl until now. King Bee was Fred Cole's late '70s band, and their music occupied an important position in Fred's development as a songwriter. STEAMPACKET -ST ('60s freakbeat/garage fuzz)-Label:BUSY BEE Stockholm-based Steampacket was formed in the autumn of 1965. After three gigs in Sweden in the spring of 1966, the band went on touring in England, discovered that there was already a Steampacket which included Rod Stewart, changed its name to The Longboatmen but called themself Steampacket II back in Sweden.
The band released eight singles but oddly enough never an LP. Today, the singles are collectibles and 'Take Her Any Time' one of the best '60s freakbeat/garage fuzz tracks ever.
