BHOPAL'S FLOWERS -JOY OF THE 4TH (psychedelic cosmic pop)Label:SOUND EFFECT Hindu deities dancing in the sky of the American desert, psychedelic cosmic pop hanging by a thread to the star of the shepherd, the music of Bhopal's Flowers seems to point to an unknown but familiar direction: A world where John Wayne and the Virgin Mary drive a convertible Lincoln, John Fitzgerald Kennedy on the backseat, greeting the crowd of angels. This album continues the quest started started in 2016 with 'Lovesongs & Psychedelic Tones' on which the trio sitar - tanpura - 12 strings guitar is digging bridges between modal and tonal musical systems, on an anthroposophic message. Fullfilled with mellotron, harpsichord, leslie effect, this easy listening record is filled with joy and bright melodies on a sunshine pop feel, with the usual Hindustani taste from Bhopal's Flowers. With this ode the 4th degree of the musical scale, 'Joy Of The 4th' expresses the will to spread simple but eternal life rules: each and every evolution is based on 7 steps, according to the following pattern: 3 - 1 - 3. As the most evolved form is not the most complex but the one that have solved the complexity with a pretty simple way of expression, 'Joy Of The 4th' claims simple pop songs with a deep and vintage production. HIGH SPEED & THE AFFLICTED MAN - Get Stoned Ezy (70s acid fried Hawkwind style w insert and rare pictures)Label:GUERSSEN n 1982, the mysterious Steve Hall, a self-proclaimed "hippie-punk" who had previously released a couple of D.I.Y basement-punk albums with his band Afflicted Man, recorded one of the most obscure, underrated and KILLER heavy-psych albums of all time. Credited to High Speed & Afflicted Man, "Get Stoned Ezy" consists of three long tracks of late 60s/early 70s influenced psychedelic hard-rock. A fuzz-wah assault of epic proportions in the style of other guitar-damage Gods like Human Instinct, Wicked Lady, Hendrix, High Rise, Sabbath, Stooges, etc, all played with a real acid-punk attitude. Label:TIGERS ARCHIVE Detroit-based cult band Destroy All Monsters played an anti-conformist style of music that, in the core, was a noisy and arty mixture of psychedelic rock and proto punk. The band is also legendary due to the involvement of members of MC5 and The Stooges. This vinyl release compiles seven tracks involving Stooges-guitarist Ron Asheton. IAH are an instrumental psych stoner rock band from Argentina who create heavy spaced out sounds. Parts Karma To Burn, Colour Haze and all the other legendary instrumental rock bands. MAGMAKAMMER -MINDTRIPPER- SPLATTER VINYL GATEFOLD Label:KOZMIK ARTIFACT The 2022 repress of their long out-of-print debut album, limited to 500 copies on pink, black and white splatter vinyl in gatefold sleeve. Coming together with heavy grooves and fearless melodies, Magmakammer set out to deliver a real sonic beating. The spectrum of their sound is wide and their width of inspiration as well, ranging from The Beatles, Zeppelin and Hendrix to classic doom and stoner acts like Electric Wizard and Sleep. The autumn of 2017 they set out to record an album on a minimal budget and with a DIY mindset. The result is the debut album 'Mindtripper'. Everything from recording, mixing and cover-art is done in its entirety by the members of the band, and this characterises the album in the way that it was intended. ORPHAN EGG-ST (1969 GARAGE PSYCH) Label:COSMIC ROCK Orphan Egg were a short lived group who were formed in 1967 in San Jose California. Their sole self-titled album was released in 1968 on the small independent company Carole Records. Essentially a garage-psych album - in the tradition of future iconic compilations like 'Nuggets' or 'Pebbles' - Orphan Egg was recorded by a bunch of students at Saratoga High School in Saratoga. The band used acoustic and electric guitars (at times
with fuzz), bass, drums, flute, piano and sparse vocals (in
English), resulting in songs that ranged from delicate to
haunting to fierce. Despite being a low-budget project,
recorded in a single day, it's a stunning work, sounding like
Fairport Convention jamming with early Ash Ra Tempel. This
first ever reissue, done in cooperation with the original band members, comes with a booklet featuring rare photos and

FOX (USA/SF)- SAN FRANCISCO SESSION (1970 heavy psych)Label:RD RECORDS An unreleased album from this post Day Blindness band, recorded in 1969/70. This album is a heavy bluesy psychedelic masterpiece of the highest order. It is virtually the second Day Blindness album with slight personal changes, but musically in a more heavy psychedelic direction. Great West Coast sounding songs with an individual feeling in the realms of Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, mixed with mid-'60s garage feelings featuring strong guitars. JOSIAH-PROCESSION(Blue Cheer style heavy psych)Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS Reissue of Josiah's fourth album from 2009. "Those who've experienced Josiah's groove-heavy swagger know that it's the guitar of Mat Bethancourt in the starring role, but this trio relies almost as much on the backing rhythms on 'Procession.' Blink and you'll miss the first two tracks, 'Procession' and 'Broken Doll," both of which are under two and a half minutes, but for the other three cuts of studio material ('Thirteen Scene,' highlight 'Dying Day' and the more garage rock 'Dead Forever'), it's just as much Beacom and Beasley's show as it is Bethancourt's. That would be the end if not for the five live tracks from Josiah's Swedish run in 2007. Four out of the five - 'Looking At The Mountain,' 'Time To Kill,' 'Silas Brainchild' and closer 'I Can't Seem To Find It' - come from the band's final recorded full-length, 'No Time,' and only 'Malpaso,' reaches back further, having first appeared on the 2001 10" 'Out Of The First Rays.' Not that we needed it by this time, but these live versions are basically just further confirmation of what underground rock lost with Josiah. Amazingly, Audio Archives now present unique material from Rob Halford's first ever official Priest concert and even more staggeringly, the last Priest gig with original singer Al Atkins and drummer Chris Congo Campbell from April 1973. FLIED EGG - DR. SIEGEL'S FRIED EGG SHOOTING MACHINE (1972 psych prog) -Label:COSMIC ROCK 1972 debut album by cultish Japanese combo! This unbelievable psychedelic/progressive rock band came together the same year after Shigeru Narumo and Hiro Tsunoda shelved their project Strawberry Path (they had a sole album release in 1971 and eventually a 7 inch). Their sound is pure adrenaline, a stormy hard blues kinda thing, with heavy Hammond organ riffs and more than a freakbeat influence. Partially informed by contemporaries, British bands like Deep Purple or Uriah Heep, they opened to more gentle and sophisticated arrangements in the soulful ballad 'I Love You' with an epic string section. The hypothetical single 'Plastic Fantasy' could have been an alternative dancefloor classic with that Traffic/Brian Auger feel in the end. LP $30 SKU:25791

Powerful sound and recording with thunderous drums, piercing fuzz guitars and the incredible vocals of Steve Morgen. Formed as Morgen's Dreame Spectrum in 1967 in NY, Morgen were one the first bands signed to ABC's offshoot Probe Records (home also of Soft Machine in the US). Fuelled by the chemistry between ace guitar player Murray Shiffrin and creative songwriter/singer Steve Morgen, they recorded their self-titled album in 1968 but, much to the band's dismay and frustration, it wasn't released until December 1969. 'Morgen' included seven impressive tracks, all of them written by Steve Morgen. You can hear subtle influences of Hendrix, Stones, Who, Doors or Donovan but Morgen's sound is clearly a beast of its own kind. The mysterious gatefold cover featured Edvard Munch's iconic 1893 composition 'The Scream' on the front. Welcome to the Void! Audiophile restoration/remastering by Ezra Lesser.
