TUCKER - Custom Made DBL 7” SAALE -Label:ATP RECORDINGS (UK) ATP Recordings presents the second installment in their limited edition 2x7" Custom Made series from Alexander Tucker. Tucker chose a version of "Phantom Rings" with a heavier riff and a harmonized vocal cycle. This version of "Veins To The Sky" features electric mandolin and "Rodeo In The Sky" is Tucker's take on his favorite Fursaxa song. "Florence Blue" was inspired by Neil Campbell and Richard Youngs and includes bowed mandolin loops, doomy classical guitar, and melancholy vocals. Limited to 1000 copies. TRAD GRAS OCH STENAR - ST (heavy Swedish rock 1970 ) - Label:SILENCE (SWEDEN) 2014 restock; 1995 reissue of the first Träd Gräs och Stenar album, originally issued on the Decibel label in Sweden in 1970. Their name translates to "trees, grass & stones." A rock group led by Bo Anders Persson (after his works with Pärson Sound, Harvester, International Harvester), this was their first of three albums, a definitely more "rockist" continuation of the post-minimalist experiments of the earlier groups, but still with that undefinable Swedish underground feeling. Similar in vibe to the live document on Subliminal Sounds, Gardet 12.6.1970. This will be the only record in your collection to start off with covers of "All Along The Watchtower" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" that you won't want to kill somebody with. UGLY DUCKLINGS - Somewhere Outside ( W historic interview and radio segments ) -Label:PACEM UGLY DUCKLINGS AKER ENTERTAINMENT (Canada) January 1967 appearance on CHUM radio in the Ugly Ducklings’ hometown of Toronto. Framed by on-air interview segments are six live in studio recordings, three demos, and one alternate mix. The live in studio tracks are all of good fidelity, and of the familiar numbers also recorded for their lone album, ‘Nothin’’ features a more elastic and loose Roger Mayne lead guitar, while this ‘My Little Red Book’ is a bit faster and more like the Love version. Another of the tracks listed as “live” is ‘My Watch’ which is an original Dave Bingham and Glynn Bell composition and has a solid funky blues quality to it. The cover of ‘I’m A Man’ did turn up previously in Sundazed’s Garage Beat ’66 compilation series, but it goes well with the short take on ‘Home In Your Heart’. Of the three songs listed as demos, all are covers. There is also a great alternate mix of ‘Postman’s Fancy,’ which has more psychedelic effects than the original side. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Shrink-rapped. Limited edition of just 300 copies.The monumental fiasco Los Blops experienced at the Vine Festival of 1972 gave rise to an abrupt reaction on behalf of the group. It was something like "if they do not want subtle songs, poetic and loving, then try this: ‘Locomotive.’ The group even momentarily changed their name to Paraffin. The acoustic guitars were still there, at least for the performances, but now with an openness for the electric and the progressive thing. Julio Villalobos had already left the group by this time, and he was replaced by the classic pianist Juan Vile Carlos, who made a significant contribution in keyboards. With this, Los Blops, after an anarchical stage of pure improvisation, returned now to another serious tryout—in the 'Manchufelá de Peñalolén'(?), this time with a more aggressive, progressive, quite unclassifiable style which once again was absolutely pioneering for Chile. Under the name of Paraffin, they returned to the public in February of 1973, and performed at the mythical festival Los Caminos que se Abren (Ways being opened), next to Los Jaivas and the El Polen from Peru, and other groups. The delivery of Paraffin/Los Blops was total, overwhelming, and left a memory difficult to erase, for many until today.
