SEELIE COURT
ACROSS THE WATER-ST (1975 prog rock rarity)Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)This totally unknown album from 1975 was recorded in the UK by two close friends. Both of them recorded one side of the album, which originally only existed on two acetate records. It contains epic neo classical prog rock in the style of Renaissance and Continuum, inspired by the wild and pagan isles of St Kilda. The second part of the album has intense Cohen-like songs which were the result of the heartaches and homesickness of a Canadian student who went to university in the UK. CD $10 SKU:24809
BENJAMIN DELANEY LION - SATORI (rare 1969 psych folk)Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs) Super rare psychedelic folk album from 1969. It has influences from the Incredible String Band and Donovan, with mystical lyrics, flutes and a serene vibe throughout. CD $10 SKU:24921
BERTIE - Algy Lord Gray (1970 Kinks influenced)-Label:SEELIE COURT A mad Kinks-influenced underground progressive masterpiece. It's as if Noel Coward, Hawkwind, The Incredible String Band, Neu, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and The Kinks were scrambled together in a disastrous Star Trek teleportation accident. In 1970 the Berties took over a crumbling mansion in the wilds of Wales, made this album, sent it to John Peel, and never left. They remain in Wales to this day. 'Algy Lord Grey' is a deranged subversive and witty concept album about a man's descent into ruin. CD $10 SKU:24801
BROWN, STEVE -BAND- SOUL FULL OF SIN (obscure 70s jazz rock) Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)Steve Brown formed this outfit in 1971, and they quickly developed a tight style of cool but potent jazz rock, characterised by lengthy powerful instrumental breaks and sax, and infectious beats. An obscure band that has been garnering a massive live following in their native Newcastle area during the early to mid seventies. CD $10 SKU:24922
CROOKED OAK -FROM LITTLE ACORNS GROW(reissue of rare 1976 release)-Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)
Crooked Oak is one of the very few folk bands who imbued their songs with mystery, power and grandeur. The combination of Steve Evans' sonorous voice and haunting Irish pipes convert the songs into a beautiful mystical experience. So to describe Crooked Oak as 'acid folk' would be misleading, instead it is a deep, profound work of art, lifted by superb vocals and wrapped in a sense of mystery. The band channel the music, tradition, heritage, and the magic that still courses through Sainted Albion's blood soaked lands. Originally released in 1976. CD $10 SKU:24802
ISOLATION -ST (UK private press 70s prog)Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)One of England's rarest privately pressed progressive LPs, Isolation is barely known and generally misunderstood. It's a concept LP tackling the sense of loneliness and loss after the breakup of a relationship, and was performed with an accompanying experimental film. The LP has fantastic compositions of melodic progressive rock CD $10 SKU:24808
JAMES, BARNEY-& WARHORSE-- KONEG, THE SECOND COMING-Label:SEELIE COURT Recorded in 1975 with support from his entire band Warhorse, this heavy progressive concept solo-album by drummer Barney James wasn't released back in the day. (Only one original acetate copy exists!) Now this complex work is finally unleashed upon the world! During his career Barney also was the drummer for progressive cult bands Gracious and Legend. Sleeve notes by Rick Wakeman. CD $10 SKU:24697
LIFEBLUD - SOngs 1973-1978 (1970 rarity) DBLCD -Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)Double CD with an awe inspiring 34-songs, these later tracks find Roger Knott taking on the Lifeblud mantle with various members of The Fixx, Adam and the Ants, and Ducks Deluxe helping out. Here Lifeblud reflect backwards and immerse themselves in the golden age of rock, drawing influences from Roy Orbinson, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and British Pop Psych, as they steer into a glorious proggy pub rock that eventually morphed into punk. The musicians on this album spread outwards from this moment ending up with artists such as Nanci Griffith. CD $10 SKU:24827
SAVANNA SILVER BAND - PURE SILVER ( 70s dark folk)Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)From the darkling psychedelic folk of Anaconda, through the bathetic psychedelic anguish of Arcadium, Miguel Sergides finally arrived from London at the Antipodes in a mid-seventies disco frenzy and recorded his ultimate masterpiece as The Savanna Silver Band. Long a cult item for disco and funk collectors, this is the first reissue of a classic masterpiece, where Sergides aptitude for long complex progressive compositions morphs seamlessly into a gorgeous funk disco setting, the result slots perfectly alongside the jazz funk perfection of Chic, Shakatak, The Average White Band and Sister Sledge. CD $10 SKU:24930
STRANG, JOHN -THE MASTERPEACE (1968 private press folk rock) Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)A super rare privately pressed folk rock album from 1968 is now finally available on a bigger scale! The LP was originally pressed in a super limited run of 25 copies, which nowadays are obviously unaffordable! Sir John Graves, who after his musical career became a leading authority on the psychiatry of drug addiction, recorded this delightful, somewhat Donovanesque LP with two friends (Valentine Lewis Lloyd and Martin Farquharson) in Wales when he was only 17 years old. CD $10 SKU:24933
BARNEY JAMES & WARHORSE - Koneg, The Second Coming (70s lost heavy prog) Label:SEELIE COURT (ONE SIDE ONLY!) Fresh from the incredible success of Rick Wakeman's early concept LPs Barney James (drummer with Wakeman's band and member of Gracious) and his ex-band mates Warhorse made this sensational lost heavy prog LP as a promo acetate. Musically complex it begins with a spoken intro and tells the tale of Koneg Son Of Odin, as he quests to find meaning and death in battle. Keyboards and guitar interweave, with further spoken interludes, and culminating in an epic prog workout featuring fluid soloing electric leads. Only one copy exists of this heavy melodic progressive concept LP valued in excess of £10,000. The original gold handmade cover is reproduced as a gatefold. Sleevenotes by Rick Wakeman. LP $15 SKU:24680
CROOKED OAK -From Little Acorns Grow (70s folk) SAALE!-Label:SEELIE COURT Crooked Oak is one of the very few folk bands who imbued their songs with mystery, power and grandeur. The combination of Steve Evans’ sonorous voice and haunting Irish pipes convert the songs into a beautiful mystical experience. It might compare to the stunning ‘Wild and Beautiful’ by Silly Wizard, with that same captivating majesty of form. Very rare, the late great record dealer and collector Walter Geertsen, one of the founding dealers who helped shape the progressive rock market, considered this LP as one of his personal favourites, alongside COB "Moyshe Mc Stiff" and John St Field “Control." Very different LPs, but all with moments of aching, dark melancholia. So to describe Crooked Oak as ‘acid folk’ would be misleading, instead it is a deep, profound and beautiful work of art, lifted by superb vocals and wrapped in a sense of mystery. The band channel the music, tradition, heritage, and the magic that still courses through Sainted Albion’s blood soaked lands. In that sense it sits alongside Spriguns of Tolgus and Stone Angel as one of the most beautiful folk albums of all time. Steve Evans, the main force, died after living in Africa a few years ago. Issued with permission of Steve Evans widow. Quite traditional folk, but magically so. LP $15 SKU:24681
STEVE BROWN BAND- Soul Full of Sin (70s killer rarity)-SAALE!Label:SEELIE COURT Steve brown formed this outfit in 1971, and they quickly developed a tight style of cool but potent jazz rock, characterised by lengthy powerful instrumental breaks and sax, and infectious beats. This LP pieces together what should have been a debut record on Transatlantic from remaining studio tapes and acetate sources. The six tracks are pure killer, opening with ‘Hitman’ which is sung first person from the point of view of an assassin for hire; stone cold cool with a fantastic bass-line and rhythm it conjurs up early seventies nihilistic film and tv imagery. The side ends with a genuine lost anthem in ‘Shine A Light,’ epic and melancholic. The lyrics are fab, and have a worldly wise quality about them. One of the greatest bands no one has heard of, hereby rescued from slipping into the ether, despite once being on the verge of a deal with Transatlantic and garnering a massive live following in their native Newcastle area during the early to mid seventies. A completely pro band, with brilliant songs, and a unique style. In 1973, the band hit a bad patch, burnt out by extensive gigging, they crashed their Transit Tour Van on a motorway, miraculously surviving. LP $15 SKU:24688
STRANG, JOHN-THE MASTERPEACE (private press 1968 folk rock rarity) SAALE Label:SEELIE COURT A super rare privately pressed folk rock LP from 1968 is now finally available on a bigger scale! A/LPACA- MAKE IT BETTER (psychedelic post punk)Label:SULATRON Debut album of this young psychedelic post punk band from Mantova, Italy. The "beat", the hypnotic and obsessive force that recalls primitive dances, is the concept of 'Make It Better'. A/lpaca's music picks up the signals from sixties London, in particular of bands such as Pink Floyd and Soft Machine (indirectly honored in the song I Am Kevin Ayers), mixes them with the Teutonic drive of Can, take some coolness from Joy Division and finally updates everything with the modern example of Thee Oh Sees and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The result sounds hieratic and adrenaline, rigorous and wild, absolutely irresistible. Limited to 500 copies. CD $15 SKU:25961

The individual albums, especially “One Year” and “Ennismore,” are worth owning intact, but this is a nice place to start. Blunstone possesses one of the most unique and underrated voices in contemporary music. This collection showcases both his voice and his considerable writing talents. The production and arrangements are excellent throughout and many of the songs have a truly haunting quality. CD $12 SKU:24836
COMMON PEOPLE- Of the People (60s garage psych ala Seeds and Lollipop Shoppe)-Label:ACID SYMPOSIUM By the People, For the People.. This superbly moody album first appeared on Capitol in 1969. COOPER BROTHERS - Best of (1974 Southern Rock )Label:PACEMAKER The Cooper Brothers are a Southern Rock band founded by brothers Brian Cooper and Dick Cooper and their long-time friend Terry King. Starting in 1974, the band released several singles under the production guidance of Les Emmerson (Five Man Electrical Band). The group had early regional success with the tracks 'Finally (With You)' and 'Miss Lonelyhearts' under the Polydor label. The band gained more attention in the summer of 1978 when they signed with Capricorn Records and producer Gary Cape. Capricorn was producing several of the most popular southern-rock acts of the time — The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and Elvin Bishop. Over the next few years, the Cooper Brothers released two albums which sold well; and the singles 'The Dream Never Dies', 'Show Some Emotion,' and 'I’ll Know Her When I See Her,’ all charted on The Billboard Hot 100. At the height of their career the band toured extensively throughout North America, opening for The Doobie Brothers, Black Oak Arkansas, Joe Cocker, Charlie Daniels, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and McGuinn, Clark and Hillman (basically, the Byrds, right?). CD $10 SKU:26887

FOLKLORDS – RELEASE THE SUNSHINE dreamy 60s pop/psych) - Label:PACEMAKER Fourteen perfect examples of dreamy, sunshine-infused pop psychedelia with a folk bent, originally released by independent Canadian label Allied Records in 1968. When we first issued this terrific album on CD many years ago, our booklet featured the few scraps of information on the band we could find. We challenged “anyone out there” to find some information on this elusive and intriguing band. Well, we’re pleased to say that someone took us up on that offer, and that someone was band leader Tom Waschkowski (credited on the album as Tom Martin). He graciously offered us a band history, lyrics, some terrific photos, and best of all, a rare pre-album single that the trio had self-released. This allows us to offer up as perfect a reissue of this album as humanly possible. The Folklords “Release the Sunshine” is a captivating album, a notion shared by the many collectors world-wide who fight for original copies, which are few and far between. Strange thing is, if someone were to say to us that the Folklords album was released by Creation Records in 1987, it would be difficult to argue. Why?, you well may ask. Our answer: the chiming guitars, the rattle of tambourine, the dreaminess, and the meandering harmony vocals of Martha Johnson place the Folklords closer to Biff Bang Pow, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Revolving Paint Dream, or even My Bloody Valentine’s debut, “Ecstasy and Wine” (granted, at a much slower speed, and without the rampant fuzz guitar). Glorious remastered sound, as the twelve LP tracks were taken directly from the master-tapes; the two bonus tracks come from the rare, privately issued non-LP single, which features haunting, drum-less versions of ‘Forty Second River’ and ‘Unspoken Love,’ both of which were re-recorded for the original Allied album. A 16-page booklet includes a band history lyrics, and comments on the songs by Tom Martin. CD $12 SKU:19943
FREEDOM'S CHILDREN- Astra (70s South African psych ) Label:FRESH One of the weirdest and most-damaged records ever recorded! long lost reissue of the classic second LP (1970) by Freedom's Children, deemed by many to be their defining moment. Said Nic Martens, one of the engineers for Astra who also played organ on the album: "What many are unaware of, is that Astra was recorded from a Friday night, to the Monday morning… on a four track Studer, eight fader Siemans valve mixer, an echo plate, with some help from a Lesley amp and a modified echo box." Not only did the album capture for posterity the unique sounds, dubbed "astral music" or "acid rock," of arguably South Africa's finest band ever, but it also caught the mood of the drug-infused culture that had taken root on the southern tip of Africa in the post Woodstock love and peace era. From the driving lead of Julian's lead guitar, a perfect match for the amphetamine and speed culture of the day, to the surreal, trippy sound of the band that tuned into the growing use of LSD, Astra captured the mood and the sounds of the early 70s South African music scene. Formed at the height of the hated Apartheid era, Freedom's Children swiftly became South Africa's most innovative sons, incomparable to anyone both musically and politically during those turbulent years. Their explorative, sonic excursions pushed the musical envelope and broke down barriers, culminating in the groundbreaking Astra album, arguably one of the era's most overlooked recordings. A real complex, progressive underground album. Includes both sides of the band’s debut 1967 single (‘The Coffee Song’ b/w ‘Satisfaction) as well as the 1968 single track ‘Little Games’ as exclusive bonus tracks. Excellent liner notes continue the story of a truly important band. with bonus tracks CD $14 SKU:23324
GANDALF THE GREY - The Grey Wizzard Am I (classic folk psych 70s) - Label:GEAR FAB 2003 release, restocked. "The classic 1972 LP from 'The Wizard' himself, Chris Wilson. The 1972 LP is considered a combination of folk and psychedelic music, and is really the culmination of many other studio efforts by Chris between 1966-1973. The bonus tracks are taken off four earlier studio efforts by The Wizard, all of which will be reissued by Gear Fab in the coming years." CD $10 SKU:10780
JOSEFUS --Not Dead Yet (Texas hard rock Unreleased 1978 Studio Sessions & Live)-Label:SHROOMANGEL Josefus are part of the first wave of Hard Rock bands formed in the end of the 60s, being the true pioneers of Heavy Rock in Texas. Their Dead Man album is one of the greatest American Hard Rock albums of the early 70s and deserves all the cult status it has been given all these years. The band resurfaced in the late 70s and then again in the late 80s, recording sporadically never abandoning their Bluesy Hard Rock roots. In the new millennium when everyone was thought the band was history, Josefus hits the stages again and keeps to this day active. This collection of rare material starts with 4 demo tracks from 1978, plus selected live cuts (mostly from 2012), where we can see the power of the band revived and refreshed after 5 decades of existence.
Presented in a 6-panel Digipak and limited to only 300 copies! Second in the Texas Rock Dyamonds Series. File Under: Heavy Rock, Blues Rock, Southern Rock, Psychedelic Rock. (LIMITED TO 300 COPIES - TEXAS ROCK DYAMONDS SERIES) CD $14 SKU:24717
KENSINGTON MARKET-Aardvark (1969 Cream style rock )-Label:PACEMAKER In 1969, Kensington Market released their final LP, “Aardvark.” This album is a weird and wonderful mini-masterpiece upon which much of Kensington Market’s reputation rests. This time out there were no silly jug-band tracks and many of the album’s ideas are fully formed and well thought out. Some of the songs, like the beautiful, trippy ‘Cartoon’ and the ahead-of-it’s-time ‘Help,’ use primitive synthesizer in all the right ways. ‘Help’ sounds like a lost Flaming Lips track with its open arrangement and blissed-out guitar playing. Other tracks like ‘Think About The Times’ and ‘If It Is Love’ have more of a melancholy air but are equally excellent and reveal a more pessimistic side of the band. Felix Pappalardi of Mountain fame is credited with "musical direction" as well as production this time around, and it shows in the heaviness, and the wistful, surreal weirdness of most of the tracks (similar in flavor to Cream's “Wheels Of Fire” and the Mountain albums), even contributing a short piano piece called ‘Ciao.’ CD $10 SKU:26890
KOPPERFIELD- Tales Untold (Ultra rare 70s hard rock) Label:GEAR FAB The ultr-rare 1974 hard rock LP by a great yet unknown Michigan band. The music is hard driving, with loud and screaming guitar, tortured vocals, and an organ sound very similar to early YES. Taken off the master tapes, this release features Nine bonus tracks never before heard. CD $10 SKU:11394
LENO-Vida e Obra de Johnny McCartney (1971 Brazilian Cream/ STeppenwolf style Label:LION Leno’s “Vida e Obra de Johnny McCartney” was intended as the next musical step after Tropicália, it’s full-blooded rock and roll approach intended to link the music that had already been made to the music that would be played a few years later. This record just might have been that bold step had CBS released it in 1971. But censors banned most of the tracks, and Leno was fortunate (thanks perhaps to his string of innocent sounding Jovem Guarda number one chart hits in Brazil as half of duo Leno e Lillian) not to experience the exile or imprisonment of other artists of the time. He was also fortunate that the master tapes survived in the CBS vaults, making them available for this reissue. The album has a sound that has more to do with bands such as Sly & The Family Stone, the Beatles (post 1967), Cream, and Steppenwolf, and features contributions from music legends Marcos Valle, Raul Seixas (anarchic surrealistic icon of Brazilian counterculture), hard psych rockers A Bolha, and members of Los Shakers and Renato e Seus Blue Caps. One of the most singular records of the 1970’s rock era in Brazil, speaking in terms both historic and musical, with a significance in Brazil that makes people who know it well wonder how it has taken so long to be known worldwide, in a time when the efforts of the Brazilian rock and psychedelic underground scene are so well-documented. A 24-page booklet (packed with photos and lyrics) details Leno’s career, as well as the story behind this exceptional record. CD $10 SKU:20090

Presented in a revamped cover, on a 6-panel digipak with rare photos and band history, remixed and remastered from the original tapes. Includes the rare single "Bomb Iran" as bonus tracks. REINHOLD, MOLITOR- REINHOLD 60s PSYCH)-Label:VAM Globe-trotting artist Bodo Molitor may have been born in Germany, but he’ll forever be associated with the psychedelic scene in Mexico and South America. In addition to creating the zoomorphic art for his own bizarre album, “Hits Internacionales,” he also created the psychedelic art for the legendary Kaleidoscope album, for La Libre Expresion, and for his brother Reinhold’s solo album. He had this to say about the Reinhold record: “My Brother Reinhold came for a visit from Germany where he was playing with several bands. He was only 19. I knew Edghar Zamudio (from Peru) and one day he asked us to record that LP. Just acoustic—guitars and a banjo played brilliantly by my brother. I think we recorded the whole album in three or four days. I played some guitars and did some vocals as well. It’s folky and bluesy with originals some covers and traditionals. My brother sings and plays guitar and banjo, on some of the songs he wrote.” The Reinhold album is so rare, even with the connection to his more famous artist brother, no one seems to have discovered it… until now. Despite being from the end of the 1960’s, Reinhold has more of an early-60's NYC Greenwich Village Cafe Wha?-ish folk underpinning. The best tracks have gravel-pated vocals in a vaguely Tom Waits or maybe Joseph Spence sort of vein—really syrupy and quite excellent. Overall, a dark and morose vibe dominates; and we can all use some minor key laments, now and then, right? Limited edition of only 500 copies, CD $10 SKU:19373
SUBSONICS- EVERYTHING IS FALLING APART- (Cramps-esque)Label:GET HIP With a mix of influences from the '50s and beyond, Subsonics deliver a Cramps-esque cocktail of belligerent guitar riffs, thumping bass, and tribal drumming. Imagine Lou Reed singing with a garage band who'd raided their father's collection of rare rockabilly gems. Unique songs, unique sound--don't miss this one! CD $10 SKU:23476
TORMENTORS, THE- Hanging 'Round ( 1967 undiscovered psych pop) -Label:GEAR FAB A truly experimental psych/rock/pop album from 1967. Featuring some very good garage, psych, and British Invasion sounds. Fuzzed out guitar, great vocal harmonies, and some really bizarre background sounds. CD $10 SKU:10787
UMBRA - ST(Brown ACid 70s heavy)Label:LION Umbra’s story is that of a band from the early 1970’s who recorded what they wanted to record: heavy, heavy music from the start of the “American Comedown Era” as we’ve seen it described by our friends for their “Brown Acid” series; a band whose music, terrific though it is, has never to this point been released out into the wide world. The tracks are hard-edged and heavy, verging on acid rock at times. Makes sense, as Umbra was a power trio most of their too-brief existence. Yet the songs (heavy though they are) have a deft touch. Spacey intros and weird effects were created by recording guitar licks, then re-recording them played backwards at double speed. There is an utterly refreshing category-free approach to writing songs that makes Umbra’s music exciting to hear. Comes with a 16-page booklet, with lyrics, photos, plus interesting and funny things that can only happen to musicians, and did to Umbra. CD $14 SKU:21740
BACHS- Out of the Bachs - remastered 180 gram (60s garage psych) GERMAN IMPORT- Label:Guerssen Restocked; '60s garage-psych moody monster! Includes insert with detailed liner notes and rare photos.Out of The Bachs was originaally released in 1968 as a private pressing of 150 copies; it's one of the rarest USA '60s garage/teenbeat albums ever. The band consisted of five young kids from Chicago, regulars at local teen dances, who decided to release an album for their fans before splitting up. Recorded and mixed in just ten hours at a makeshift studio, Out of The Bachs offers 12 amazing self-penned songs with a sound ahead of its time. Pure teenage-angst vocals, crashing Rickenbackers, fuzz outbursts, killer moody tracks... Sadly, all previous reissues of the album failed to capture the true sound of the original, until the Time-Lag label reissued it in 2011 with remastered sound from a pristine original vinyl copy.
