SEE NO EVILS - INNER VOICES (60s style garage pop)Label:HEAVY SOUL The debut-album from exciting Leeds-based 4-piece The See No Evils. Here are twelve tracks that deliver a sound rooted in '60s pop and energetic garage, though a modern twist keeps the tunes from retrogression. The two previous singles have proven that the band takes influences from many genres and eras, be it '50s B-movies scores, '60s garage rock, or '70s punk - not one track sounds the same. Expect chiming guitars, impassioned vocals and songs that just won't leave your head CD $15 SKU:23726
SENDELICA -CROMLECH CHRONICLES II(Welsh psych rockers!)Label:FRG With the ethos of '70s musical communes like Japanese band Taj Mahal Travellers in mind, Sendelica added some unusual personnel to its usual core, f.i. Cheryl Beer and her eclectic mix of instruments s.a. Tibetan singing bowls, shaman drums, sansula, ting sha, mbira, wood blocks, Chinese gongs, shruti boxes and her sanskrit chanting. Also along for the musical ride were Kate Riaz on cello, Jack Jackson on percussion and Colin Consterdine on electronics. Using loops of field recordings, the communal band set about improvising musical soundscapes. 'Cromlech Chronicles II' is the finished product of those sessions. CD $15 SKU:21499
SHOCK ST (obscure 70s garage psych) - Label:GUERSSEN (Spain) previously-unreleased -a Major discovery in the Spanish Psych-Prog collector scene: a previously unreleased album from 1970 by this obscure Spanish garage-psych band . Until now, Shock were a total mystery. They only released one 45 back at the time (the killer acid-fuzz punker "No se puede ser Superman") and nothing was known about the band...until we tracked them down. We discovered that prior to their 45 release, they recorded a whole album which was never released. Shock's music is underground garage-psychedelia with crude acid-fuzz guitar, effects, English vocals...think of Agua de Regaliz, early Pan & Regaliz, Cerebrum or even obscure Brazilian bands such as Tobruk but with a more primitive sound. The album features ten songs including the original versions of the two tracks later re-recorded for their only 45: "No se puede ser Superman" (titled here "I'm being mad", it's a different and superior English sung version) and "I want to laugh" (a longer version than the one included on the 45). Remastered from the original 2-track tape (which is unfortunately not in perfect condition, but more than good enough). CD comes with colour booklet. album from 1970 by this obscure Spanish garage-psych band., including an insert with detailed liner notes in English/Spanish. CD comes with a color booklet. CD $15 SKU:23553
SHORT FUSES - DAWN OF THE DEAF (IYL MC5, Blondie, The Runaways)-Label:RUM BAR Georgia Peach, Justin Staggs and Travis Ramin are back with a bang as they unleash their first release in 15 years. 'Dawn Of The Deaf' is recommended to fans of a.o. MC5, Blondie, The Runaways, Helicopters and Detroit Cobras. CD $15 SKU:23752
METABOLISME -Tempus Fugit ( 1977 French prog )SAALE!-Label:REPLICA (France): First inspired by hard-rock as played by Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, the band then discovered the works of Uriah Heep. With the help of keyboards player Thierry Scaduto, a symphonic touch added a nice aspect to the music. Under the influence of Genesis, Yes and Premiata Forneria Marconi, Metabolisme changed its musical style to play Progressive rock. Signed to RCA's Crypto sub-label, Metabolisme were great at dark atmospheres, processed fuzzy guitars and lost vocals. When they burst out of a slow number and rip into a tight ensemble piece you might hear touches of Arachnoid. The spacey Pink Floyd atmosphere recalls Pulsar, especially at the time of "Pollen" . The album opens with the longest track, nearly 16 minutes of pure delight, featuring two lush keybords passages and great guitar chops. One instrumental track, 'Tempus,' shows that they were capable to creat great prog rock, with captivating guitar keyboard parts. Released as late as 1977, the album didn't stand a chance of making it to a larger audience in a time in which punk rock started its devastating heyday. The music offered on the album was far to fine- drawn for the period in which it was released. Still, Metabolisme's "Tempus Fugit," their one and only album, is a treasure for those who love lush organs in the style of Yes, sophisticated guitars Uriah Heep and French vocals a la Mona Lisa. Is that you? then you need to buy this record. LP $19 SKU:21016

MODIFICACION -ST (1971Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge and Grand Funk Railroad style)-Label:MUNSTER This heavy underground psych/prog rock band from Valencia, Spain, released two sought after singles in 1971 and 1973 respectively, plus a further promotional 7-inch in 1974. Now, for the first time ever, all the tracks from those releases are collected on one LP with the addition of previously unreleased recordings. The band was influenced by a.o. Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge and Grand Funk Railroad. Fans of those bands will definitely love this compilation. LP $25 SKU:23397

MORMOS -The Great Wall of China plus 7” (1972 acid folk) - Label:WAH WAH Recorded in 1971 and originally only issued in France by CBS, the first LP by post-SPOILS OF WAR band Mormos is a masterpiece of fabulous experimental psychedelic acid folk sounds and bizarre melodies. Influences from contemporaries such as The Incredible String Band are present, as are some resemblances to the music of f.i. Comus or Dr. Strangely Strange. Mormos nevertheless created unique athmospheres which were (and are) unheard in other music of the era. Jim Cuomo formed Mormos after the demise of his Spoils Of War project. The new group moved from the USA to France, where they recorded two albums. The first was 'Great Wall Of China', which now gets reissued in cooperation with Cuomo himself. Included is a 7-inch EP featuring 5 bonus tracks and, of course, an insert with notes from Cuomo. Limited to 500 copies only! LP $28 SKU:24772
NEW YORK DOLLS -ACTRESS: BIRTH OF THE NEW YORK DOLLS(1971 Raunchy glam!) PINKLabel:RADIATION RSD 2021 RELEASE! Reissued on PINK VINYL in a limited run of 500 copies, 'Actress: The Birth Of The New York Dolls' is required listening for all Dolls fans, and especially Johnny Thunders devotees. LP $25 SKU:24592

ROOSTERS All of Our Days ( 60s jangly garage W stunning never-before-seen photos.) Label:BREAK-A-WAY The Roosters have been known among fans and followers of the Californian mid 60s folk rock scene for a long time. Their “One Of These Days” b/w “You Gotta Run” 45 has been included on early garage compilations and is a huge favourite among collectors. Less well known is their second and at least as brilliant 45 “Rosebush” / “Ain’t Gonna Cry Anymore”. Additionally there´s a rare 1965 surf/mersey punk single released under the name “Five More”, an early 1965 acetate put down as the Avengers and most of all, three 1966 stunning unreleased folk/garage janglers recorded at Gold Star Studio. This collection finally puts all these gems in one place and unravels the enigmas behind the band on a LP sized full glossy insert with a detailed history of the band emerging from the memoirs of guitarist and songwriter Timothy Ward and the band’s vocalist Ray Mangigian. This is embellished with a load of stunning never-before-seen photos. Finally here´s the legacy of an underrated, but excellent band direct from Los Angeles, the mid-Sixties epicenter of jangle – The ROOSTERS! CD $10 SKU:19670

From 1966-72 and taken off the original master tapes. CD $10 SKU:21729
RUINERS - How's That Grab Ya? This is rock 'n' roll (Cramps/Munsters style! ) Label:DISASTER ave a slice of classicist influenced Garage&B. One part Cramps (and their attendant influence on the non-purist rockabilly/roots hoo-ha in the '80s), one part Munsters/Groovie Ghoulies (the TV shows), one part smeared make-up Ronettes, one part other stuff from their Detroit environs around '66 and it's fallout on the record's co-producer, Mick Collins. SAVANNA SILVER BAND - PURE SILVER ( 70s dark folk)Label:SEELIE COURT 380 copy limited edition first pressings in mini card gatefold sleeves, from Glass Masters (not cdrs)From the darkling psychedelic folk of Anaconda, through the bathetic psychedelic anguish of Arcadium, Miguel Sergides finally arrived from London at the Antipodes in a mid-seventies disco frenzy and recorded his ultimate masterpiece as The Savanna Silver Band. Long a cult item for disco and funk collectors, this is the first reissue of a classic masterpiece, where Sergides aptitude for long complex progressive compositions morphs seamlessly into a gorgeous funk disco setting, the result slots perfectly alongside the jazz funk perfection of Chic, Shakatak, The Average White Band and Sister Sledge. SCHOBER'S CABINET - IT IS IN THE WRONG ENVELOPE (London 67-68 style psych) -Label:BAM BALAM Denis Stockhausen Von Ulm (guitars, bass, organ, vocals) and Zach Ryl (percussion) are offering us a psychedelic album, which seems to have come directly from London of 1967-1968. Recorded in their small studio, with the garage sound and mixing typical of the era, vintage guitar, the good old Farfisa organ accompaniment, and featuring a 10 minutes experimental piece at the end with a mesmerizing riff. One may indeed believe it came from the sixties! CD $10 SKU:21324

SHAHRAM - ST (Kinks style Iranian pop master) Label:PHARAWAY SOUNDS You know how record nerds are. They’ll gladly tell you that a dawdling Moldovian choir of 70 year old grandmothers is the next brick in your psychfunksplosion journey. But Shahram Shabpareh is the real thing. Colorful arrangements of blurting horns, evil bass grooves, cheesy organs & thick strata of overlapping percussion instruments going off like microwave popcorn. As the leader of an Iranian 60s garage band, the Rebels, and later a 70s solo singer, Shabpareh was never happy just tossing a few moves from Abba in front of whatever was on the local charts already. He wrote & recorded hard rock & funky piano riffs that were built bulldozer tough & would’ve stuck out in an American trailer park or a London pub just as easily as they did in Tehran. Not that he wasn’t afraid to put someone else’s idea to good use, as he certainly makes superb use of the Kinks’ chords from ‘You Really Got Me’. It’s more that Shahram’s rock cojones have caused him to make blistering music again & again over the years, with little regard for where it comes from. Here’s a well-deserved compilation of his best tracks, with insert/booklet with liner notes. CD $10 SKU:21149

SHORTCROSS - Arising (1972 Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad style)-Label:GEAR FAB AllMusic Review by Stanton Swihart [-]Opening with song titles such as "Nothin' But a Woman," "Wastin' Time," "Suicide Blues," and "Just Don't Care," Short Cross made no secret on their sole 1972 album, Arising of the fact that they aspired to make hard blues-rock like their idols -- Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad -- were creating. Sure enough, the album is a piece of competently played blues-rock. All the bandmembers are quality musicians: the drums fall into a nice groove, the basslines soar and dip, and there is no shortage of good guitar licks CD $10 SKU:18655

SIGN OFFS- ST ((Duane Peters label- kick-ass classic punk rock)LAST FEW COPIES Label:DISASTER What the hell is it about young kids from culturally dead suburban wastelands that makes for such goddamn good rock? Case in point: Cleveland's The SIGN OFFS. Whereas most punk kids are happy just to dress the part and play in useless, shitty bands until banking or insurance sales brings dreary normality to their doors, this bunch of high-schoolers from way-the-hell out on the far-west side of town, knocking out quickie rock'n'roll burners inspired by the usual suspects, (D-Generation, Turbonegro, G'nR, US Bombs, AC/DC, Dead Boys) quickly matured into a powerhouse live band. The the singer and both guitarists just turned 18 when they recorded this album, and one of the members was still in high-school. Some high-energy kick-ass punk rock rooted in their hometown's tradition. CD $10 SKU:23226

A FINE DAY AND A BRILLIANT EVENING -Cherry Red Rarities 1983-85 (willowy pop)Label:CHERRY RED More willowy pop of yesteryear from the vaults of Cherry Red. The second release in the Cherry Red Rarities series, is a collection of rare and upstanding tracks from three of Cherry Red’s most popular artists: Jane And Barton, Grab Grab The HaddocUk (yes, they really did exist) and In Embrace. “The juxtaposition of the three artists here seems coincidental, yet they successfully present different facets of the sound of the label during the early 80's. Jane & Barton start with the acapella 'It's A Fine Day' which was later turned into the Opus III dancefloor smash. Flute and percussion accompany Jane on 'I Want To Be With You' to nice pastoral effects a la Virginia Astley, although the latter would have never named one of her songs 'Ha Bloody Ha', which poses such thought-provoking questions as "Did you hear about the woman who died" or "What part of a vegetable can't you eat". Simple voice and piano arrangement on 'There Is A Man' and 'You Are Over There' makes ideal lazy afternoon listening, only to be rudely disturbed by Mr.Barton's grating screech on 'You Are Over There Part Two'. Onto the marvelously named Grab Grab The Haddock, which included two of the three Marine Girls after Tracey Thorn went on to form Everything But The Girl. They pretty much carried on with the style of their previous band, only now augmented to a four-piece. Lightweight summery guitar pop, the stuff that made Cherry Red famous. In Embrace played moody melodic pop with guitar and synths. Although once described as 'introverted and emotionally unfathomable' the songs are actually quite classy and the sentiments deeply felt. 'The Darkest Horse' features a spine-tingling chord progression slightly reminiscent of the Cocteaus. They should have been big. The CD ends with a bonus video of 'It's A Fine Day'. COMP CD $10 SKU:20498
ALIVE AT THE DEEP BLUES FESTIVAL -VA W Radio Moscow,Buffalo Killers,John The Conqueror, Left Lane Cruiser, Porkchop, and more!Label:ALIVE BUFFALO KILLERS and RADIO MOSCOW turned in super heavy sets soaked in psychedelia and reverb, while LEE BAINS III & The GLORY FIRES fiercely ripped through their show with a blistering set of songs steeped in Southern rock, R&B, soul, gospel and punk. BRIAN OLIVE and his backing band melded soulful R&B with technicolor garage-pop for their early daytime set, while HENRY’S FUNERAL SHOE (the Welsh duo), LEFT LANE CRUISER and newcomers JOHN THE CONQUEROR perhaps kept closest to the Deep Blues curriculum with their respectively raunchy and heavily amplified modern interpretations of rural gutbucket Delta Blues.

ELECTRIC HOLYLAND -ST- (Jesus fuzz psych 1960s)Label:LION Only 300x copies made! Music known as “Jesus rock” or "Jesus psych,” the synthesis of the Christian philosophy combined with heavy rock or psychedelic music, first saw light of day in the late 1960’s and was immediately pressed on vinyl. It didn’t dent popular consciousness and was met with almost zero popularity in its infancy. Over the years, astute collectors and music lovers began to realize that some of these records, almost all of which had been privately pressed in very small quantities with little to no promotion, contained some of the heaviest, catchiest, guitar-driven psych rock ever released. Many of us feel that these early greatly talented, creative and innovative Jesus rock artists, which, sadly, have been mostly overlooked and remain stlll relatively unknown, deserve to be heard. They broke the traditional mold of what Christian music should sound like and need to be known and recognized along with the well-known rock artists and bands of the era. This album presents twelve cuts of some of the best and sometimes heaviest obscure Jesus psych rock ever. Several tracks are from ultra-rare albums that are well-known to vinyl collectors, while others are from albums so obscure that only a few copies are known to exist. Enjoy your fuzz-drenched trip through “Electric Holyland”! COMP CD $10 SKU:24738

MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER - Death and the Blues (Black Diamond Heavies- great punk blues slide guitar ) LTD ED OF 150 STARBURST LP -Label:ALIVE Guitarist, singer, harmonica player, and songwriter MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER is a founding member of the seminal Tennessee punk rock blues band The Black Diamond Heavies (with John Wesley Myers aka James Leg, and Van Campbell of the band King Mud).
MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER plays the blues, and his music is the sound of the truth. He has traveled around the world and the US, and played at festivals, clubs, in the streets, at churches, in public toilets, army surplus stores, and in a mental hospital or two. After more than a decade of struggling with depression and addiction, he has finally come back home, in Chattanooga TN, and assembled a first rate power trio.
His debut “Let It Slide” is a blistering blues album that marries both the modern and the traditional. “Let It Slide” has been described by the Chattanooga Pulse as “Boogie, sans bullshit. Dirty roadhouse music. Juke Joint jamming. Swamp rock. Too rock for blues, too blues for rock, the music is hungry, hard and mean."

MONDO DRAG - New Rituals - PINK VINYL! (STONER PSYCH discovered by Parker of Radio Moscow) Label:ALIVE Trip out with Mondo Drag! From deep in the cosmos of Iowa, this psychedelic outfit has created a strange brew of garage, psych, space, sludge and stoner rock. "New Rituals," their debut for Alive, is an incursion into extended psychedelic blues guitar jams and haunting vocals over heavy, steady bass lines and thumping percussion. Mondo Drag has shared the stage with bands such as Witchcraft, Dead Meadow, Pentagram, and Radio Moscow, to name just a few. "They rock. Most songs clock in at over 6 minutes, yet you don't notice the time go by because they seem to take that long just to rev up. Each song stretches, cries, screams, and tears itself apart." - Berkeley Place LP $18 SKU:21266

NEKTAR -A Tab in the Ocean (1972 Brit acid psych prog) DOUBLE Lp Label:MISSING VINYL Did you ever wonder what would happen if a giant tab of acid was dropped into the sea? According to Roye Albrighton, Nektar’s guitarist and vocalist, they did. Albrighton and his mates parlayed their curiosity into the group’s acclaimed second album, appropriately titled “A Tab in the Ocean.” built on the sound of Nektar’s first album, Journey to the Centre of the Eye, but further emphasized a “concept” over its five tracks (the lengthiest being album opener ‘A Tab in the Ocean’) which took the band musically in a tighter, more structured and focused direction. “Official, deluxe 180 gram double LP reissue of the second album (dating from 1972) by the legendary British psychedelic progressive group, that was based in Germany. The extra LP contains 4 excellent psychedelic bonus tracks from 1972-1973, which have remained unreleased on vinyl until now. Expertly remastered from the original master tapes. Limited edition in deluxe gatefold cover.” LP $34 SKU:21011
NEON PEARL1967 Recordings-UK Psych garage- Label:GUERSSEN Lost-in-time, dreamy, mysterious sounding British psychedelia from the magical year of 1967, never released at the time. Neon Pearl was created in 1967 by supreme drummer/songwriter Peter Dunton (The Flies, Gun, Please, T2...) with the intention of playing in Germany. Once there, they played a lot of gigs and were offered a residency at the Top Ten Club in Siegen. Their particular sound, mix of covers, original material (written by Dunton) and psychedelic improvisation, earned them local cult status. After some line-up changes, the band regrouped in London as a trio: Peter Dunton on drums/keyboards/vocals plus Bernie Jinks (Bulldog Breed, T2) on bass and Nick Spenser on guitar. This line-up recorded some studio demos, featuring tracks like 'Dream Scream', which was usually their final number in their live sets, where they extended it to 10 minutes or more. With no interest from record companies, Neon Pearl split, giving birth to Please, another cult band led by Peter Dunton. Those demos were first recovered by the Acme label in 2001 and subsequently released as '1967 Recordings'. Out of print for many years, here's a new vinyl edition with newly designed artwork. Taken from the original masters. Insert with liner notes and photos. "The music of Neon Pearl is not about complication or extraordinary guitar playing - Neon Pearl is about the steady redemption of warm fog, ethereal jangling guitars, dream laden lyrics and the altered state of consciousness it's able to bring on though an elegant deep and pervasive sedative drone." ~Jenell Kesler LP $28 SKU:19999
NERVES One Way Ticket - RED VINYL (70S POWERPOP LEGENDS!) Label:ALIVE Formed in 1975 by guitarist JACK LEE, bassist PETER CASE, and drummer PAUL COLLINS, the Nerves are one of the most influential garage/punk pop outfits to come out of the mid-70's LA scene, and certainly one of the least documented... until now. Mostly remembered for their classic "Hanging On The Telephone," a Jack Lee composition which has been covered over the years by a myriad of artists from BLONDIE to L7 to CAT POWER, the Nerves were above all a high energy rock'n'roll band with all three members composing and singing. Playing fast, ear-catching garage pop songs, sometimes wearing matching suits, the trio had more than a bit of the stripped down street energy of the Los Angeles's early punk movement. They shared the stage with the Ramones and Mink Deville during their infamous US "Magical Blistering Tour," played the Punk Palace and the legendary Masque in Hollywood, and headlined shows with the Avengers, the Zeros, The Dils, The Screamers and Shock, to name just a few. After the band's break-up in 1978, Peter Case and Paul Collins formed The BREAKAWAYS, and later went on to front the legendary PLIMSOULS and The BEAT, respectively. Following the success of "Hanging On the Telephone," JACK LEE has mostly focused on his songwriting career, releasing an album in 1981. Both Peter and Paul are still recording and touring. PETER CASE's latest album "Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John" (Yeproc 2007) was nominated for a Grammy. This collection, authorized for the first time ever by the three band members, features their 1976 EP (now regarded as a power pop classic), as well as demos and previously unreleased live recordings, REMASTERED and complete with notes and photos. LP $25 SKU:17632
