NEW ARRIVALS

ASTRAL SCENES ASTRAL PROJECTION(1968 Pop/Psych- get out the lava lamps!) )Label:HIMALAYA This 1968 Pop/Psychedelic Rock album is just chock full spacey instrumentation and utilizes horns, woodwind, and string sections very much like those used in Sgt. Peppers. The theme of this release is based upon the thoughts and feelings experienced if one were to leave the physical body (Astral Projection) and become the spiritual embodiment (Astral Body). The Astral Body begins to go back into the physical body and causes one to think about The Astral Scene…..There are some very nice male and female vocals which are backed up by the great orchestration and this LP is one to set the lights down low on and turn on the Lava Lamps!!! LP $17 SKU:19521

BLIND RAVAGE- ST (60s hard rock blues, includes insert with liner notes) -Label:OUT-SIDER (SPAIN) This is the first vinyl reissue, featuring remastered sound and an insert with liner notes. Blind Ravage were formed in Montreal in the late '60s by well-seasoned musicians, including keyboard virtuoso Serge Fleury and ace guitar player Jean Charbonneau. In 1971 they released their only album, on the Crescent Street label. Hard rock with bluesy overtones, heavy guitar playing, punkish vocals, and swirling Hammond organ. Nine original songs plus a killer hard rock version of "Susie Q." LP $17 SKU:16722

BOKAJ RETSIEM -PSYCHEDELIC UNDERGROUND (Trippy 67 German explotation Hendrix, Animals style)-Label:HIMALAYA This 1967 German exploitation LP features fuzzed out vibrato guitar, wailing organs, and strong english vocakls very much like Hendrix, The Animals, Vanilla Fudge, and Iron Butterfly. A real psychedelic trip!LP $17 SKU:19536

CENTURY EXPANDED-Concerto For Wah Wah- (Prev unknown trippy early 70s psych gem)-Label:RADIATION Wow!! What a find!! A previously unknown Gem from early 1970. Originally released on the ultra-rare Perspection label, this Psychedelia Jam features two long tracks of Wah Wah, fuzz and tremolo dueling guitars, spacey vibes and percussion, and an overall trippy sound reminiscent of the Summer Of Love San Francisco sound LP $17 SKU:19523

COLLAGE - ST (late 60s psych Mamas and Papas style- Label:SMASH The Collage was one of the very many short-lived psychedelic rock groups of the late 1960s. Sounding like a groovy hybrid of the Free Design and the Mamas And the Papas, the L.A.-based Collage recorded one fab LP for Smash Records. Released in January 1968, the Collage features songs penned by Curt Boettcher, Roger Nichols, the Addrisi Brothers, Price And Walsh and several originals by the band themselves. Produced by Phil Spector/Wrecking Crew alumnus Steve Douglas, this gem of an album also features the participation of fellow Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Joe Osborn, Larry Knechtel, and Mike Deasy. LP $17 SKU:7369

COSMIC MICHAEL - ST ( Ultra-crude basement electric blues acid-fried folk rock.1969) - Label:OUT-SIDER Initially released in 1969, Cosmic Michael proposes a compatible marriage of electric blues and acid-fried folk rock. A carefree attitude, spiced with a sense of humor, is visible throughout the songs. Because the album is so loose, spontaneous and intimate, you feel as if you are right there in the studio, observing every single inch of the recording process.A raw-boned, hippy garage rock stance sits at the forefront on tracks such as “Now That You’ve Found It” and the brash fuzz guitar riffing of “Theme.” An ode to a gig, “People’s Fair” cleverly rhymes Buffy Sainte-Marie with Chuck Berry, while a gutsy female singer struts her stuff on “Mother Earth” and “Heavy Boogie” sounds like a goofy imitation of Canned Heat. LP $17 SKU:19525

MERKIN -Music from Merkin Manor (70s rare West Coast psych) insert with liner-notes IMPORT- Label:OUT-SIDER Fabulous and ultra-rare U.S. West Coast psychedelic album from Merkin. The song titles and length of time are the same, but the digital remastering has been done off new source data and is far superior to the earlier version. LP $8 SKU:19537

The band consisted of five young kids from Chicago, regulars at local teen dances, who decided to release an album for their fans before splitting up. Recorded and mixed in just ten hours at a makeshift studio, Out of The Bachs offers 12 amazing self-penned songs with a sound ahead of its time. Pure teenage-angst vocals, crashing Rickenbackers, fuzz outbursts, killer moody tracks... Sadly, all previous reissues of the album failed to capture the true sound of the original, until the Time-Lag label reissued it in 2011 with remastered sound from a pristine original vinyl copy. This reissue uses the same audio master as the out-of-print Time-Lag edition. File next to The Rising Storm, The Fantastic Dee-Jays, The Savages. KEY, SCOTT- This Forest and the Sea (76 loner folk/psych PRIVATE PRESS LTD ED)Label:LION Excellent 1976 private press acoustic album, self-recorded at various places in Colorado, and filled with beautiful fingerstyle acoustic guitar, plus some atonal bottleneck slide, string scrapes and drones (at times, very Ry Cooder/“Paris, Texas” about six years before that soundtrack existed). Although almost completely instrumental, what lyrics there are tend towards the dark and the satiric. The obvious points of comparison are John Fahey and Leo Kottke, although Scott Key certainly has his own presence and style, differences in tone and color and attack, which he attributes to his background in rock bands. Overall, there is a brooding, loner folk/psych feel, most evident on the phenomenal, effects-heavy, almost 11-minute long title track, ‘This Forest and the Sea.’ "I was coming to terms with what it mean to exist… and saw the world in pure black and white—there was no room for grey,” Key said. “I saw an American Culture devoid of any understanding of its place in the universe, how we learn nothing save what we see on television, how our existence is tainted by intellectual laziness, and how our gift of life is defiled by the taking of it." This deluxe 180-gram vinyl LP edition of “This Forest and the Sea” comes with an insert which sports engaging, funny, and insightful notes by Key, photos, plus the text to poem that inspired the title track; as a nod to the forest, the insert is printed on FSC recycled, chlorine-free, 100% post-consumer fiber paper manufactured using biogas energy. A very rare album that seems to have flown under almost everyone’s radar—although thankfully not Doug McGowan’s (Yoga Records), who sent this our way. One record collector said to us, and we now say to you: “Have a listen because this rates up there with classics by Bob Desper, Perry Leopold, Robbie Basho, and Phil Yost, with dark moods similar to John Fahey and Nick Drake.” This LP edition is limited to 500 copies. LP $14 SKU:19265

KNIGHT RIDERS -SAN FRANCISCO 1965-THE AUTUMN SESSION (60s Brit invasion/garage) -Label:BREAKAWAY Any fan of mid '60s Brit invasion, garage and folk rock should get this! Really!!!An LP of great 1965 recordings from SF legends (by word of mouth) THE KNIGHT RIDERS (who'd later be responsible for an acetate album under the Jungle moniker), combining British invasion energy with west-coast folk-rock harmonies. The band put these nine track to tape for Autumn Records (Beau Brummels, early Grateful Dead, Great Society), but unfortunately the label never took care of a proper release. But now you can get these tunes afterall! On offer are eight superbly infectious group originals and a killer version of Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' that has the same class as The Byrds' 'Mr. Tambourine Man'. LP $17 SKU:17122

LIBERTY BELL - Thoughts and Visions 67-69 (Texas garage psych ) -Label:BREAKAWAY Corpus Christie, Texas 1967 - the town is a hotbed for young music groups. One of the local bands to cause attention is called The Zulus. The group plays local gigs, enjoys a certain popularity and a record deal is overdue. Carl Becker, co-owner of J-Beck Records, who had already managed the Zakary Thaks, offers the band a contract for his newly established Cee-Bee Label. On Beckers suggestion the band changes their name to LIBERTY BELL and in 1967 their debut 45 'The Nazz Are Blue' b/w 'Big Boss Men' gets released. The name Liberty Bell is indissoluble wedded with other self penned devasting garage recordings such as 'That's How It Will Be', 'For What You Lack' or the unreleased 'I Can See'. In 1968 lead singer Ronnie Tanner leaves the band and gets replaced by former Zakary Thaks lead singer Chris Gerniottis. The change in line-up and the arising spirit of time gives a more psychedelic edge to the band's sound and leads to another load of classic Gerniottis written scorching fuzz recordings such as 'Reality Is The Only Answer', 'Recognition' or 'Look For Tomorrow'. For the first time in 25 years, the music of the Liberty Bell is available again on vinyl. Brillant Five-Star-Texas-Garage-Punk - always and ever! LP $18 SKU:16268

MORNING DEW - ST DOUBLE LP (60s rare psych collectors fave ) -Label:LION Morning Dew have been psych collector faves for ages. Their sole release, "At Last" (much like the Morgen album on Probe) becomes more obviously crucial with each passing year. After recording their legendary album for Roulette in 1969, Morning Dew headed back to Topeka feeling good about their prospects. But Roulette had problems. They did finally release "At Last" late in 1970... and marketed it so well it became a psychedelic rarity and a cult favorite. Even so, Morning Dew's producer at Roulette urged the band to record a demo of songs for a second album. They went to a local studio in August 1970 and blasted out eight songs, bolstered by new recruit Ferdy Baumgart's Hammond B3. Band leader Mal Robinson also made acoustic two-track recordings in his basement: new songs, plus others from the Morning Dew repertoire—just vocal and guitar. The band gigged while Roulette and it's honcho Morris Levy withered under scrutiny by law enforcement. A second album came to nothing. Still under contract with Roulette and still dealing with broken promises, burnt out and broke, Morning Dew disbanded in June, 1971. But those demos... they need to be heard. That's where we come in. Two records, chock full of your new favorite Morning Dew songs, plus solo acoustic versions of band classics like the monumental 'Crusader's Smile,' alternates, and more, most of which is previously unreleased.
One more thing: all of this material is making its vinyl debut •Luscious four panel color insert includes liner notes by Morning Dew songwriter Mal Robinson + lyrics LP $29 SKU:18280

OLIVERS - Lost Dove Sessions( ltd ed 60s U.S. psych ) - LAST COPIES Label:BREAK The Olivers from Fort Wayne, Indiana are best known for their highly sought after 1967 Picture Cover 45 on Phalanx Records. 'I Saw What You Did' b/w 'Beeker Street'. The single got picked up by RCA Records for nationwide release and is today rated as one of the best and most exciting double sided major label garage 45s of the 1960s. A planned second single and LP release for RCA never happened. Long standing rumours of a "Lost LP" however, were confirmed when a one-of-a-kind reference acetate of an unreleased GRT album by The Olivers was found recently. The album, recorded after several line-up changes in early 1969 at Dove Studios in Minneapolis turned out to be a psychedelic jewel. An amazing album featuring the amazing rich and significant voice of leadsinger Billy Franze and on a par with the legendary psych albums of the era. “Dove Sessions“ features the nine minute long 'Jessica Ryder', the spooky 'Mushroom', the brooding organ driven 'The End', plus psychers such as 'Ball Of Fire', heavy rockers such as 'Free' and the trippy never ending 11-minute slashing guitar freakout of 'Social Slavery'. Unjustifiably shelved 40 years ago, this amazing organ drenched fuzzfest proves that the band does not only deserve the plaudit "Indiana Sixties Rock Heroes", but also had the potential for the national breakthrough that never happened. The LP captures the incredible talent and versatility of the Olivers and adds an essential piece of vinyl to their discography. A four-page LP sized insert documents the band's career as told by its original members and a cache of unseen photos completes the band's 1963 – 71 history." Only 500 copies. LP $17 SKU:14566

OOSTEN, MICHAEL - St (70s hippie psych) HAND SCREENED COVER w 3 bonus tracks.-Label:WAY GONE + LION PRODUCTIONS (USA) Keeping a band together was difficult in the late 1960’s. Tough too, because Michael Oosten was writing songs that veered away from pop-song structures. There was also the relative ease and lack of responsibility required for hauling around a guitar. So, Oosten took off, with a Martin guitar in tow, playing coffeehouses and clubs across the country. By the end of 1973, he was ready to record an LP—five psychedelic folk/rock tracks, ranging from the brightly smiling ‘Sunny Day’ to the epic ‘Hungry Horse Montana,’ where Oost switched seamlessly from Celtic picking to Middle Eastern chord progressions. Oosten filled out his folk/rock/psych sound with the help of a few friends: piano from Tom Hennick on ‘Hey Babe,’ vocals from Jan Reek on ‘Garden,’ and bass from Al Byla on ‘Sunny Day.’ Oosten's wayward vocals puts us in mind of other meandering faves from various eras (Incredible String Band, Perry Leopold, or the Meatpuppets, to name but three), and Oost proves himself a stellar guitarist in an eccentric and percussive mode. Considering the individualistic nature of the album's genesis, no surprise that marketing and publicity for the album was limited. Columbia Records expressed interest in Oosten's music; but after a single meeting with the label, it was clear that the album would be too difficult for the mainstream honchos to market. Oost and friend Lester D'ore (editor of Chicago countercultural paper Seed and designer of the Yippie flag) holed up at D'ore's Wisconsin commune farm to silkscreen each LP jacket by hand. For our deluxe Lion Productions replica edition, they’ve done that again—we've used the original screens for this hand-screened, hand-assembled replica edition. The work of a renegade, ripe for rediscovery. •Hand silk-screened jackets, using the original screens•180 gram vinyl w/replica labels + color insert•Sleeve notes by Michael Oosten•Limited to 500 copies, which come in multiple color variations LP $17 SKU:19264

PRINTS OF DARKNESS - Zindabad (60s Pakistan, reviewed by Mike Stax - Label:RAVI RECORDS Raw, exciting and really quite excellent... fans of fuzz will find a feast of it on this set. The Prints turn in enjoyable readings of ‘Summertime,’ ‘Morning Dew,’ and Country Joe & the Fish’s ‘Rock and Soul Music,’ but it’s their original numbers that really stand out… The band’s bottled-up creative energy comes bursting to a head on the culminating number, ‘Oh Color the Shadowy Distance,’ which starts out as an über-dramatic Doors-in-the-garage exercise atop a ‘Tobacco Road’-type stomp riff, before levitating into a psychedelic instrumental section that sounds a bit like Jorma Kaukonen jamming with the Velvet Underground. Thrilling stuff.” —Mike Stax (Ugly Things)This is the story of a sixties garage band… only this one was based in Lahore, West Pakistan, where there was a small American community and a funky school in an old British Raj-era bungalow. September 1967: Skip Boyce had a drum kit assembled from various shops in Penang during a family vacation and Danny Carr had a Framus bass and a huge amp. Let’s start a band! New kid Steve Davy provided the missing link. Add his psychedelic Hofner guitar and small amp and the Great Flower Famine was born. “Let’s just play songs with three chords (‘Gloria,’ ‘Louie Louie’ and ‘For Your Love’ were the first three); more followed: Stones, Animals, Kinks, Doors. Old friend Travis “Smokey” Henderson was in the States, but returned to Lahore and joined as lead guitarist. John Sligh was added as lead singer because he liked the same tunes the others did and looked cool. By the end of the school year, the Famine was a tight unit—the best rock band in West Pakistan. September 1968: a year’s worth of new music, and new influences—Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the San Francisco groups. Meanwhile, Steve bought a Hofner violin bass like Paul McCartney, Skip returned from the States with a full set of Ludwig drums like Ringo, and a new redheaded kid arrived by the name of Richard Woodbury. His addition and a new name for the band (Prints of Darkness) gave the group a new style. Their repertoire expanded. September 1969: One addition to the personnel—Roberta “Bourbon” Kilgore as vocalist. The Prints started writing their own tunes in earnest. On May 22, 1970, they played their last show and for the first time in three years, the instruments went in different directions afterwards. And so did the Prints. In the band’s final year, several of their shows were recorded using a single open mic and a standard quarter-inch reel-to-reel tape recorder. The best tracks have been cleaned up and compiled for this release on Ravi Records, a label set up by music mail order company Metro Music. The release is a true labor of love, with no corners cut, and no expense spared on the sound restoration, mastering and packaging. The heavy-vinyl LP (180 gram) is housed in a super-deluxe gatefold sleeve modeled on the Stones’ “High Tide and Green Grass,” complete with a lavishly illustrated and annotated booklet. LP $18 SKU:14746

RAUNCH - Total Raunch (savage '60s garagepunk)-Label:BREAK A WAY The Raunch from Ossining, N.Y. were one of the countless mid-'60s groups born into a healthy local garage scene, living the classic story of local bands for two years and then almost forgotten for the last five decades. In the short time of their existence, the Raunch released a legendary 7-inch, made it with one track onto the collectable "Battle Of The Bands" LP on the regionally active Ren-Vell Label and in 1967 recorded another until now unreleased pair of tracks. Both sides of their sole single on Bazaar Records, are good examples of classic '60s garagepunk. 'A Little While Back' is a crude heavy fuzz punker with a blistering guitar solo perfectly backed with 'I Say You're Wrong', a tough n moody song with the classic garage girl-treats-boy-bad lyrics on the flip. While both sides of the 7-inch were group originals written by Sandy Katz, their LP contribution for Ren-Vell was a cover of Paul Revere & The Raiders' 'Hungry', played by the group in their unique "raunchy style" of course. Even more unique is the treatment the boys gave to their unreleased recordings of 'Hey Joe' and 'Tobacco Road'. Again recorded at Ren-Vell in 1967, both covers are unbelievable ultra heavy fuzz killers with a wild brand of slashing and uncompromising guitar playing. Despite losing several battle of the bands contests, their ultimate victory comes in the shape of this one-sided Break-A-Way release. Five tracks with enough excitement and power for two LP sides, all of which are '60s savage garage punk and, once heard, unforgettable. LP $14 SKU:16485

ROBBIE AND THE WEREWOLF- Live at the Waleback (Bizarre 1964 monster inspired oddity)-Label:GEAR FAB OK, so here we have one of the weirdest and most bizarre albums ever recorded. Pretty much unsurpassed in its level of incredible strangeness, this ultra-rare album from the early sixties (1964) California coffee- house circuit is like no other. Robbie is a folksinger of the frantic variety with a fetish for monsters. This inspired some of the most bizarre songs ever committed to vinyl. It was at The Wale Back in LA one heady night in 1964, that Robbie's solo act was captured for posterity by engineer Reice Hamel, now renowned as a pioneer of live recording techniques. The patrons lapped up Robbie's act although some of the more faint-hearted may have experienced a frisson of terror as he prowled amongst them, sweat dripping from his beard, laughing maniacally, during his atmospheric 'Dracula' number. With his long red hair and matching beard, Robbie was a striking performer with a manic stage presence, acting out his songs as much as singing them. His set consisted of his original songs and uniquely reworked versions of folk standards, played on a beat-up twelve-string guitar. Robbie would later join The Brain Train in 1967 and his wife Barbara “Sandi” Robison would become the lead vocalist for The Peanut Butter Conspiracy (PBC) . Featuring liner notes from Alan Brackett of The PBC and UK collector extraordinaire Gray Newell. LP $17 SKU:19481

DICTATORS - Next Big Thing 10”-Label:REAL GONE MUSIC "It's been 40 years since Andy 'Adny' Shernoff, Scott 'Top Ten' Kempner, Ross 'The Boss' Friedman a.k.a. FUNichello, Stu Boy King, and Handsome Dick Manitoba released the Dictators' debut Go Girl Crazy! album and created the loud, fast, and rude template that thousands of punk bands to come slavishly followed. And now the boys are ready to celebrate their anniversary with a little help from a very special friend. Long-time fan, professional party animal and metal/punk singer-songwriter-producer Andrew W.K. took the original album session tapes to three of the songs and, as he puts it ever so modestly, 'remixed, over-produced and totally ruined reimagined' them to create sonically stunning brand new versions of 'The Next Big Thing,' 'Two Tub Man,' and 'Weekend' for this Black Friday exclusive release! But that's only half the treasure that awaits Dictators fans on this 10" EP, which comes on beautiful opaque red vinyl; in the course of reviewing the tapes for this project, Sony Legacy A&R Producer Timothy J. Smith also located a reel of unreleased session outtakes including a completely previously unknown recording that never made it to the album, 'Backseat Boogie,' along with an alternate take of 'The Next Big Thing' and an instrumental take of 'Weekend.' Back cover and label artwork boasting previously unseen photo contact sheets complete the package. LIMITED EDITION OF 2500." LP $19 SKU:17105

DRUM CIRCUS -Magic Theatre (1971 truly insane psychedelic music with LSD drenched lyrics)-Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS Rare album by Swiss band, featuring two members of Brainticket including their leader Joel Van Droogenbroec; truly insane psychedelic music with LSD drenched lyrics by Timothy Leary; first released in 1971. "Founder and leader of Drum Circus was master drummer Peter Giger. “A giant on drums”, as the newspaper “Rhein-Main-Zeitung” called him. He was joined by two additional drummers, as well as by Joel Vandroogenbroeck and Carole Muriel, both from Brainticket. Therefore, it’s not surprising that “Magic theatre”, with its LSD-dripping lyrics (partly written by Timothy Leary, partly influenced by The Tibetan Book of the Dead), is a lot like early Brainticket. “Magic theatre” was recorded in the excellent studio of Horst Jankowski in Stuttgart. Yet, it remained unreleased. Shortly before his death, Horst Jankowski gave the tapes to Peter Giger LP $19 SKU:18027

EDDY DETROIT- Shock-A-Lock-A-Lickum Ltd ed. ( STooges, Mc5 connection ) -Label:ASSOPHON (United States) Where to start with Eddy Detroit? Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, it was there, in 1966, that he was in attendance for the first Iguanas gigs (Iggy Stooge's first band). He joined the White Panther party in Detroit and was "there" for the pre-punk sounds of The Stooges and MC5 ("We all smoked dope on the state Capitol and got beat up by the cops"). In the early '70s he traveled to London, where he stalked Marc Bolan and tried to seduce Tony Visconti's then-girlfriend Mary Hopkin. It was with Ms. Hopkin, when he was dropping off a demo tape at the Apple store, that he witnessed the moment when Ringo found out that The Beatles had broken up! (We've got the pictures to prove it!) In the mid-'70s, Detroit settled in Hollywood and started The Terminal Wave Band (bongo/synth/punk) which was the soundtrack to the hippy/biker/S&M/satanic/polyamorous scene that Detroit ruled in dingy, underground LA -- that's when he wasn't trying to seduce Nico (The Velvet Underground) to become one of his muses and lovers ("True story bub"). When rents in LA got too much for an acid-fried biker/S&M/punk, Eddy moved to Phoenix, AZ, and was seminal in fostering one of the most interesting underground musical scenes of the early '80s. He was an unofficial member of the Sun City Girls, toured with the Meat Puppets and Mighty Sphincter, and was the pith-helmeted shaman-in-residence at his club The Grotto! This LP contains recordings made from 1979 to 2010. They run the gamut of Detroit's musical landscape, from the UK acid-folk of Tyrannosaurus Rex and The Incredible String Band through bongo-fueled satanic calypso to his new phase as a troubadour recounting tales of hobos, whores, and one-eyed jacks from the old west. Limited edition of 500 copies. LP $16 SKU:17204

ELDER-REFLECTIONS OF A FLOATING WORLD(2LP)-Label:ARMAGEDDON This album by the mighty Elder offers six monumental songs, huge in sound, each of them their own cosmic expedition. What begins as driving mid-tempo rock, chock full of heavy guitar riffs, repeatedly erupts into melodic tangents and clever variations. Guest musicians Michael Samos and Mike Risberg added guitars, pedal steel and keyboards to the trio's sound, making it more voluminous than ever. The influences found here range from '70s prog dinosaurs such as Yes, King Crimson or Pink Floyd, to the band's kindred spirits in the European psychedelic and space rock scenes. LP $42 SKU:18735

FEVER TREE - Live 69 180 gram vinyl SAALE - Label:SUNDAZED PREVIOUSLY UNISSUED LIVE RECORDING SHOWCASING THE FINAL STAGE APPEARANCE BY THIS LEGENDARY GARAGE COMBO’S ORIGINAL LINEUP! 1969 live recording from Mount Carmel High School in Houston.Fever Tree’s lone hit single, the haunting 1968 tribal anthem “San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native),” perfectly captured the spirit of the psychedelic era. Although their signature hit led many to assume that they were a Bay Area band, Fever Tree actually hailed from Houston, Texas. “San Francisco Girls” quickly emerged as a staple of American underground FM radio, and won the band an international audience after becoming an airplay favorite of influential British DJ John Peel.“San Francisco Girls” is also the centerpiece of Fever Tree’s self-titled first LP, one of the period’s most distinctive debut efforts. As the album demonstrates, the quintet was adept at incorporating jazz and classical influences, ambitious song structures and resourceful production touches. Such memorable numbers as “The Sun Also Rises” and “Come with Me (Rainsong)” benefit from Dennis Keller’s hypnotic vocals, Michael Knust’s dynamic guitar work and Rob Landes’ inventive keyboard textures. Also included is a memorable medley of the Beatles’ “Day Tripper” and “We Can Work It Out,” and a unique interpretation of the Neil Young/Buffalo Springfield nugget “Nowadays Clancy Can’t Even Sing.” Fever Tree’s expansive musical settings also feature key contributions from a pair of noted arrangers: David Angel, renowned for his work on Love’s Forever Changes and Gene Page, whose resume includes work with the likes of Phil Spector and Marvin Gaye.Fever Tree would release three more well-received albums, before disbanding at the dawn of the 1970s. Recent years have seen a resurgence of interest in the band’s vintage work, and this one-of-a-kind debut album remains a deeply compelling sonic artifact. LP $16 SKU:13288

FEVERS- Gaan daar (powerpop NERVES style !) - Label:ALIEN SNATCH As powerpop as Teenage Head, Nerves and Knack (without ties & laughing all the way to the bank) while taking their cues from the "odd" bubblegum craze boy groups of the 60's and injecting stunning "nice guy" 60's harmonies. No need for gimmicks here, they just love to rock. They love it loud but they dont wanna be "LOUD" like most of the others out there. The combination of Gavin's undeniably distinguished raspy voice, backed by that foot-tapping juice-driving heart-soaring lead guitar with Who-ish rough punchiness creates a sound that is simple but surprising, intense but subtle and shining, shining bright.

FIREBIRDS- Light My Fire (60s stoners heavy psych)Label:CROWN The 1968 released 'Light My Fire' album by the Firebirds , is a loose stoner heavy power album and a truly awesome relict from the Sixties. It offers a very heavy, psych flavored hard rock with blistering guitar leads inspired by the likes of Hendrix, Cream and early Blue Cheer. With the exception of the title track, all songs are group originals and the song writing is simply amazing. Considering this is a so-called exploitation album, the band has a stunning musical quality, which made the LP sought after and highly prized by collectors over the years. The new edition contains all track stated on the cover incl. 'Free Fuzz' and 'Free Drum'. Both these recordings were not included on the original album, but ended up on another exploitation album the same people did under the moniker 31st Flavours for the same label. This reissued LP comes with original labels and original cover. LP $14 SKU:14888

FITZGERALD, PATRIK-Safety Pin Stuck in My Heart ( 70s punk rarity ) DOUBLE LP -Label:MUNSTER RECORDS (SPAIN) RSD Black Friday release. Patrik Fitzgerald was one of the oddities that punk rock threw up in 1977. A lone singer with an acoustic guitar, regaling punk audiences with lyrical songs and interspersing them with chats, stories and poems. Is this what people died in the Punk Wars for? The answer is an emphatic yes. There's no better example of the punk DIY attitude than the lone, slight figure of Patrik Fitzgerald making it happen and expressing himself on stage, singing songs of alienation, observation and imagined situations and often braving hostile receptions to communicate with an audience. While bands had the safety net of each other and the bombast of volume and wattage, he stood alone. Patrik had realism, pathos and incisive, sometimes uncomfortable, lyrics. Those early songs like "Safety Pin in My Heart" and "All Sewn Up" have amazingly stood the test of time and sound as relevant today as then. Patrik Fitzgerald was the "Punk Poet." He is the great forgotten songwriter from the Class of '77. Patrik Fitzgerald never became a household name or punk icon like Rotten, Strummer or Weller, but to his loyal followers he is just as important and as inspirational. Same goes for Mark Perry, Vic Godard and Robert Lloyd. Like them, he is one of punk's idiosyncratic, singular voices: artistically successful, but too uncompromising for mainstream and commercial rewards. Fitzgerald's sincere attitude and eccentric appearance -- commonly, a badge-cluttered blazer, red drainpipe trousers and sandals -- set him squarely apart from his new wave brethren. He was always called a poet rather than a singer, as it was all about the words. Words full of tragedy, comedy, cynicism, realism, bitterness, pathos and just occasionally, hope. Tagged the "new Dylan" in '77, he was maybe more the new Leonard Cohen with a touch of social realism, although Bowie was his hero. "The recordings remain true to me, even when I don't. This is what they are; the voice of a small, insecure, somewhat lost person, living in a small, insecure, somewhat lost country." LP $19 SKU:16363
