The Rings were an unusual band so they were a young band fronted by an older underground musician (Twink, real name John Alder, veteran of many psychedelic bands including Tomorrow and The Pink Fairies). I wanna be free is a minimalist punk anthem, in which the song title and not much else by way of lyrics is chanted over and over again above a killer riff. This single was released in May of 1977 and was repressed two times more, one of these with a different sleeve, this Delga Press Limited edition has been used in our release. SEMI TRUTH - You Call (Barracudas related ) pic slv. -Label:NDN Semi-Truth came to life when Jeremy Gluck, singer used 2 b of fabulous legendary legendary surf punkz The Barracudas (they had their folk rock phase but Gluck got over it and smashed the band), asked his friend Richard Angel from the band Alcohol (incl. latter day Saints' Michael Baylis) to give some new tunes a good kicking in the teeth. SHAKERS, LOS- CONFERENCIA/OTRA VEZ 68/71 Uruguayan Rock/Bossa Nova -Label:CIRCOLO DEL DIS Two lp's on 1 CD. In 1967, "Los Shakers" begin to write what would be considered the "Sergeant Pepper's" by "Los Shakers", "La conferencia secreta del Toto's bar" (Toto's bar secret conference) and in 1968 they finish the arrangements and decide the album concept. The name of the LP is a satire of the American presidents conference that was held in Punta del Este in april 1967, and Toto was the owner of a bar where the Uruguayan musicians met. "La Conferencia" is a complex LP and "Los Shakers" anticipated the fusion of rock with candombe, bossa nova and tango. Subsequently, Hugo and Osvaldo recorded a bossa-jazz LP called "La bossa nova de Hugo y Osvaldo" (Hugo and Osvaldo's bossa-nova), where all of them play the instruments and put an end to the pending contract with the record company, also considered a "must" by bossa-jazz lovers. In 1971, Caio and Peln attempt to take once again the rock style and record an LP called "Otra vez en estudio" (Once again at the studio), inviting for this project three Uruguayan musicians from the "old times" of the 60s, three members of "Los Inocentes" (The Innocents), the twins Hctor and Carlos Capobianco (brothers of Peln) and Rubm Viera (Lorenzo). This LP intends to continue the Shakers' melodic line but without the Fattoruso brothers, and it is a different thing, although it presents some compositions with good harmonies and the album is very well considered by collectors CD $14 SKU:8884

FINCH - Vita Dominica ( 70s Dutch Q65 related ) SAALE - Label:PSEUDONYM RECORDS (NETHERLANDS) Founded in 1974 and derived from the legendary group Q65, Finch is still regarded as one of the most leading Dutch second generation bands. Complex and harmonic orientated long compositions with lots of space for guitar and synthesizers fill up three albums and one seven inch. Their debut album Glory Of The Inner Force was also released in the United States. Especially Finch live reputation is often remembered as legendary. Nuff said for the ones who were eyewitnesses. Others can now enjoy Vita Dominica, an album that not only relaunches their Colossus-7", but also presents three recently unearthed pieces that were recorded by Dutch radio station VPRO. Paradoxical Moods, Pisces and Register Magister capture Finch on stage shortly after the release of their debut, featuring the first definitive line up of Joop van Nimwegen (guitar), Peter Vink (ex-Q65) (bass), Cleem Determeijer (keyboards) and Beer Klaasse (ex-Q65/ex-GROUP 1850) (drums). The recordings were made in December 1975 in De Tagrijn in Hilversum. A demo version of Remembering The Future, recorded in 1977, is included as a bonus track. FITZGERALD, PATRIK-Safety Pin Stuck in My Heart ( 70s punk rarity ) DOUBLE LP -Label:MUNSTER RECORDS (SPAIN) RSD Black Friday release. Patrik Fitzgerald was one of the oddities that punk rock threw up in 1977. A lone singer with an acoustic guitar, regaling punk audiences with lyrical songs and interspersing them with chats, stories and poems. Is this what people died in the Punk Wars for? The answer is an emphatic yes. There's no better example of the punk DIY attitude than the lone, slight figure of Patrik Fitzgerald making it happen and expressing himself on stage, singing songs of alienation, observation and imagined situations and often braving hostile receptions to communicate with an audience. While bands had the safety net of each other and the bombast of volume and wattage, he stood alone. Patrik had realism, pathos and incisive, sometimes uncomfortable, lyrics. Those early songs like "Safety Pin in My Heart" and "All Sewn Up" have amazingly stood the test of time and sound as relevant today as then. Patrik Fitzgerald was the "Punk Poet." He is the great forgotten songwriter from the Class of '77. Patrik Fitzgerald never became a household name or punk icon like Rotten, Strummer or Weller, but to his loyal followers he is just as important and as inspirational. Same goes for Mark Perry, Vic Godard and Robert Lloyd. Like them, he is one of punk's idiosyncratic, singular voices: artistically successful, but too uncompromising for mainstream and commercial rewards. Fitzgerald's sincere attitude and eccentric appearance -- commonly, a badge-cluttered blazer, red drainpipe trousers and sandals -- set him squarely apart from his new wave brethren. He was always called a poet rather than a singer, as it was all about the words. Words full of tragedy, comedy, cynicism, realism, bitterness, pathos and just occasionally, hope. Tagged the "new Dylan" in '77, he was maybe more the new Leonard Cohen with a touch of social realism, although Bowie was his hero. "The recordings remain true to me, even when I don't. This is what they are; the voice of a small, insecure, somewhat lost person, living in a small, insecure, somewhat lost country." LP $25 SKU:16363

FLESH EATERS- A Minute to Pray A Second to Die- ( liner notes by Byron Coley ) 60s garage-rock style -Label:SUPERIOR VIADUCT The Flesh Eaters is the name behind one Chris Desjardins a.k.a. Chris D. Taking his stage name from a 1964 cult film, Chris D. wrote for legendary fanzine Slash in the late '70s and assembled the first of many Flesh Eaters lineups from heavyweights in the burgeoning L.A. punk scene. After releasing a ravenous EP and heart-ripping debut album, The Flesh Eaters unleashed their era-defining statement, A Minute to Pray A Second to Die. Originally released in 1981, A Minute to Pray brings together the greatest band in American rock history: Dave Alvin (Blasters) on guitar, John Doe (X) on bass, Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) on sax, along with Bill Batemen (Blasters) and DJ Bonebrake (X) providing the album's trademark percussive backbone. Chris D. leads the group like a man possessed. Through a series of grotesque vignettes, his lyrical prowess and indelible growl stand toe-to-toe with the music's powerful shifts. From opener 'Digging My Grave' (resembling a diesel-charged Magic Band) to the gothic groove of 'Divine Horsemen,' each song is its own hairy beast. Inspired by African tribal music, '60s garage-rock churn and Funhouse-era Stooges swing, A Minute to Pray remains (according to author / archivist Byron Coley) 'the best rock record ever recorded.' FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND- Satori 2013 repress. Deluxe LP format; 180 gram pressing. ( 70’s psych rock ) - Label: Reissue of the second Flower Travellin' Band album, originally issued by Atlantic Records in Japan in 1971. Satori is a conceptual hard rock/psych album driven by Hideki Ishima's furious guitar licks which erupt and explode over the harmonic heart beat of the drums and bass. Yamanaka's banshee-like vocal style turned him into an occidental Iggy Pop or Robert Plant while the band itself was rapidly becoming Japan's answer to Led Zeppelin. FOREST- Concert ( 72 acid hippies! ) SAALE -Label:KLIMT Recorded in May and October 1972 for BBC Radio 1 by DJ Bob Harris, these sessions may be all that remain of this seminal acid folk bands elusive third album! Featuring songs not heard on either one of their LPs-1969s self-titled debut and 1970s Full Circle, both on Harvest-it is speculated that many of these songs would have appeared on their imminent third album had they not been suddenly dropped from their label (due to low sales and rapidly changing musical tastes). By 1972 Dez Allenby had left the band, leaving brothers Adrian & Martin Welham as the only remaining members, although Dave Panton (viola, sax) and Dave Stubbs (bass) were brought in for their live performances. By this time, particularly on tracks like "Everyday Laugh", the Welham brothers were moving more into avant-rock territory and one can only speculate on where they could have gone from here.
