Until today it became a rare high-rated collectible among psychedelic underground fans. While numerous bands in the 90s & 2000s tried to revive the true 60/s70s spirit & sound - Living Room reached a high level in authenticity.when you hear it you will bet, that this was made in 1968!!! They used vintage equipment and effects such as Farfisa-organ, fuzz & echoing guitars, flute and two beautiful girl voices. These recordings present their previously unreleased second album, a heavy floating but also a mystic folk listening pleasure - 8 cuts which reflect Krautrock inspirations in the vains of Amon D2, Hove" hippie-spirit. Look forward to enjoy sos like "Orange Plastic", "Rising Dawn" or "Times Like Lakes" (which can be heard on CD on: Trip In Time Vol.3, WIS-2503). The CD, well remastered, comes in a limited digipack cover, with 4 bonustracks (from their debut "Chambers"). MANSET, GERARD -La Mort D’Orion ONE ONLY! (1970 French rebel)Label:WORLD It was the release of “La Mort D'orion” (1970), his third album, that made self proclaimed ‘lifelong rebel and eternal failure’ Gerard Manset famous in his native France. This ambitious concept album opens with dissonant strings in a classical mode that could easily be part of a Bartok quartet; the music then evolves (after a sitar interlude) into a multi-part, nearly 25-minute long song with an epic sweep that seems to encompass and distill all the finest that French modernism has to offer, channeling the spirit of its literary innovators (from Nerval, Rimbaud, Apollonaire, and Cendras to the likes of Camus, Sartre, and Robbe-Grillet), while also benefiting from the advancements in studio sound pioneered by the likes of Pierre Henry at Pierre Schaffer’s studio at RTF. As our friends at Other Music have said, “moments of seemingly normal French chanson give way to subtle and psychologically disorienting manipulations of orchestral trappings—the results are very dark, very beautiful, and quite unlike anything you'd expect from French popular music.” Creepy in some parts, at others "serious" psychedelic/avant garde progressive psychedelia, with abundant dark orchestrated atmospheres; for those who don’t object to this approach it is an album that can only be described as a masterpiece. In the end, "La Mort d’Orion" proved to be both a critical and commercial triumph; indeed, it went on to sell more than 20,000 copies—a remarkable feat for such a strange and innovative album—and French critics showered it with rave reviews. The release on Vip Vop Recs spawned many imitators such as 'Wavy Gravy', '4 Hairy Policemen' et al and paved the way for the equally legendary 'Purple Knif Show'. What few folk knew was that 'Forbidden City Dogfood' was actually less than half of the compilation made by Lux Interior. Now, for the very first time, the entire recording is available, weighing in at well over an hour of crazy, whacky sounds from the Maestro of Mad himself. Remastered from the original source, these obscure rockabilly, surf and R&B tracks are interspersed with B-movie trailer clips and wigged out voice overs. Within the Soviet system, a colorful crowd of artists, musicians, freaks, vagabonds and other long-haired drop-outs created their own system, which connected those who believed in peace, love, and freedom for their bodies and souls. More than 40 years later, a group of eccentric hippies from Estonia take a road trip to Moscow where the hippies still gather annually on the 1st of June for celebration that is related to the tragic event in 1971, when thousands of Soviet hippies were arrested by the KGB. FOLKAL POINT- ST (70s RARITY) Label:MIDAS RECORDINGS/HOXA Lost in fire and flood and remastered from original vinyl, now fetching as much as $1,416, 'Folkal Point' (the official release, and the only one with the bonus track) represents a moment in time, captured for all time. Only 250 of the original available ever, and only 500 of this special edition were made. And now, this self-titled album, from its somewhat obscure origins rises again, through the determination and meticulous work carried out by Hoxa Sound and The Vinyl Factory. That original sense of ambition is now a collective sense of satisfaction. Beware unauthorised remasters! The band can make something if you buy the Hoxa edition, having made nothing out of any others for the last 46 years. The recording of this album did constitute a milestone in the career of Folkal Point, but not one that could ever have been anticipated. And what was achieved in that relatively brief period of the early 1970s has truly lasted a lifetime.
