NEW ARRIVALS
GINGER BAKERS AIRFORCE-"Live in the Stadhalle Offenbach Germany 1970 DOUBLE CD -Label:VOICEPRINT Ginger Baker is probably best known as the drummer with British rock bands Cream and Blind Faith. Ginger's next musical stop was his own band Ginger Baker's Airforce who released two albums of part studio/part live recordings. This short-lived band broke up in late 1970, and Ginger then went to briefly live in Africa, where in Nigeria he established his own recording studios in Lagos whilst also forming the band Salt, a band which managed to fuse jazz with African rhythms. A return to the UK in the mid seventies saw Ginger join forces with the Gurvitz brothers late of Three Man Army and Gun in the Baker Gurvitz Army. Releasing a number of albums with this band Ginger re established his rock career. Apart from live recordings included on the two original Airforce albums, Ginger Baker's Airforce recordings are extremely rare. This is an audience recording of Airforce in Offenbach Germany on 18 December 1970. This performance captures the second incarnation of Airforce following the departure of Steve Winwood and Chris Wood, who had returned to Traffic by this time. Nevertheless, it is a lively performance—actually one of the final Airforce performances before the band split. The performance features (amongst others) the Cream classic ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ and Ginger's contribution to the Blind Faith album, ‘Do What You Like,’ alongside tracks from the second Airforce album, including ‘We Free Kings,’ ‘Let Me Ride,’ ‘Toady’ and ‘12 Gates Of The City.’ The recordings featured in the Official Ginger Baker Bootleg series are sure to become collector's items and are all sanctioned by Ginger Baker CD $10 SKU:19501
KALEIDOSCOPE (USA)-Pulsating Dream TRIPLE CD Label:FLOATING WORLD 60s PSYCH! One of the few groups of the psychedelic era whose musicianship was equal to their ambition—they delved into every possible musical genre, and invented a couple of their own. TRIPLE CD $10 SKU:19502
MOUNTAIN -Canadian Festival Express 1970-Label:VOICEPRINT Scorching live recording by Leslie West's legendary band of rockers, recorded at the Canadian Festival Express in 1970. The tenth volume in the Mountain Bootleg Series was recorded on their Canadian Festival Express tour in 1971. As with all the other volumes in the series, all of the recordings come from Leslie West and Corky Laing's personal archives. Some of the performances are not sonically perfect, but the quality of the performances are never in question. When 1970 began, New York hard rockers Mountain were one of the most promising new bands. Their 1969 debut (while the album was titled “Mountain,” it was credited solely to Leslie West) had led to a highly coveted spot in the original Woodstock festival, thrusting the band was into the spotlight. By the year's end, due to their exceptional sophomore effort, “Climbing,” Mountain were one of the US's premier rock outfits CD $8 SKU:19503
MOUNTAIN -Live in San Bernadino, CA 1971-Label:VOICEPRINT Mountain was formed in 1969 by guitarist Leslie West and bassist and former Cream producer Felix Pappalardi. The two met while West was a member of Long Island R&B band the Vagrants When West left the Vagrants to record a solo album it was agreed that Felix Pappalardi would produce the said album which was entitled Mountain. The sessions for the album went so well that it was decided that the pair would form a band and the band would take its name from Leslie’s album. So it was that Mountain was born. Joining Leslie and Felix was drummer N.D. Smart who had also played on Leslie’s album and keyboard player Steve Knight. The band started to gig and whilst the response was positive no one would have dreamed how big the audience would be for the bands fourth gig. In August 1969 Mountain along with the likes of the Who, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby Stills Nash and Young—and of course Jimi Hendrix—played at the Woodstock festival. CD $8 SKU:19504
MOUNTAIN - Live At The Capitol Theater 1974-Label:VOICEPRINT Continuing this great collection of Live Mountain performances here is a show from 1974 from the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey, from the period when the band had re-formed and the core trio of Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi and Corky Lang reunited for a series of successful dates and a great album called "Avalanche". The re-union was unfortunately short lived which makes the recordings on this disc all the more precious. CD $8 SKU:19505
SOFT MACHINE- Turns On Vol 1 &2 (1967) DOUBLE CD -Label:VOICEPRINT (England) Double disc combines both individual "Turns On" volumes, in new packaging. Volume 1 is a vital collection of archival live Soft Machine recordings from 1967, and (unlike “Turns On Vol. 2”) includes some studio recordings. Robert Wyatt's drumming is nearly miraculous, and Mike Ratledge's organ is at its daring and explorative best. Fans will appreciate some of these recordings, especially the first 'Clarence in Wonderland'; the 13-minute 'Hope for Happiness'; and Wyatt's 'Lullaby Letter.' Recording information: European Studio (1967); Middle Earth And Speakeasy Clubs, London, England (1967); UK Studio (1967). As for Vol. 2, this is not meant as an introduction to the band for novices, but lovers of the Soft Machine will be blown away by the alternate versions on the disc; they are even more daring than the official releases. The tracks on this disc are drawn from three live performances: tracks 1-5 are from Amerstdam, 10 December 1967; track 6 is from the Middle Earth Club in London, 10 November 1967; tracks 7-14 are from Col Ballroom, Davenport, Iowa, 11 August 1968. CD $12 SKU:19506
TETRAGON- Nature (TRIPPY 70s Krautrock)Label:LION An ecology-inspired Krautrock album (1971) from a short-lived group comprised of German school-chums, some of whom had recorded an LP as Trikolon. Tetragon did not conform to any predetermined musical style: they played whatever they pleased, as long as it included groovy Hammond organ and very trippy, flanged wah-wah guitar, in various taut jamming modes that favored jazz/rock fusion à la Miles Davis with a small dose of classical music (adapting a Bach fugue along the way). The result is a bouquet of lush instrumentals, with elements of Egg or the Nice, and quite a bit of T2 to boot. The album was recorded in a converted barn, using a Revox A77 two-track tape recorder and seven microphones placed judiciously to best capture the sound of each instrument. Re-recording wasn1t possible, as the record was mixed live. Yet these challenging conditions inspired the band to great heights: Hendrik Schaper played organ and clavinet simultaneously, with one hand on each keyboard; meanwhile, Jürgen Jaehner unleashed rampaging electric guitar solos, then, in an instant, switched to acoustic guitar for the next musical passage; Schaper didn't own a piano, so he used a pre-amp with a wah-wah pedal to imitate that instruments sound. A virtuoso effort, from start to finish! Tetragon didn't bother contacting any record labels; they didn't their music would interest anyone. A mere 400 copies of the album were released on a private label, named Soma after the drug-induced effect described in Alduous Huxleys Brave New World. Our edition includes all of the original pro-environment, anti-industrial pollution gatefold album art, a detailed band history, band photos, and a nearly fifteen-minute bonus track, recorded live in Georgsmarienhütte in 1972. CD $14 SKU:10608

ANTORCHA- ST (Incredible late 60s/early 70’s anarchistic acid/psych rock tracks) Label:VAM MEXICO -Housed in nice gatefold cover, with liner notes, pictures, discography and poster insert. Official limited edition vinyl from the original masters, featuring incredible late 60s/early 70’s anarchistic acid/psych rock tracks with fuzz, organs and all around great vibe. After the split of Las Antorchas, Victor Motta Aviles and band mate Omar Cortes Gaviño teamed up with Victor's brother Guillermo and continued as Antorcha. Along with Náhuatl and Toncho Pilatos, Antorcha were one of the few groups in Mexico that managed to break the influences of foreign bands—and government oppression—and find their own (demented) sound. In fact, Antorcha set out to cerate an anarchist awareness among young people in the era; they understood anarchy as “respect to youth, the right to free-thinking, and breaking political and religious taboos.” And the music—acid psychedelic rock, with intelligent use of fuzz guitar and a strong rhythm section. Greats stuff from start to finish—all originals—that we can easily rate as some of the best psych rock ever made in Mexico! This LP has all of the band’s EP and single tracks, plus one from their only album, which came out at the end of their career. LP $17 SKU:19497
ANTORCHAS, LAS - ST (ultra-rare 60s Mexican psych w. liner notes, and a poster insert that replicates the Orfeon EP art) Label:VAM MEXICOLas Antorchas were formed in 1965 by five college students in Mexico City. They released only one EP on Orfeon, but had recorded enough material for an album. They split around 1968/69, but after a line-up change they continued under the name of Antorcha. Thanks to the persistence of VAM Records and record producer Manuel Alvarez Valdez, we now have all known material of Las Antorchas, including their Orfeon material. Their early sounds are rock/beat influenced, with most relying on organ and vocals. But the excellent ‘Dime’ is a really great acid-punk track. Truly underground Mexican rock, waiting to be discovered. This edition has liner notes, and a poster insert that replicates the Orfeon EP art LP $17 SKU:15111
BRAIN SOUND -An Attempt To Record Coincidence (rare Aussie 1972 Hans Pokora fave) -Label:NERO’S NEPTUNE (USA) Pictured in all its tantalizing, eye-popping glory in Hans Pokora's 1001 Record Collector Dreams, this hellishly rare Austrian avant-garde LP from 1972 is nothing short of astonishing. There are no instruments, but rather varying configurations of solo, duo and ensemble vocal improvisations, presumably informed by the aforementioned (and nearly impenetrable) code (or “charts”). Although this might be seen as part of an interesting continuum, this unique and prescient music will stun even the most astute followers of outsider art. Describe it, you say? Shape note singing for acidheads, perhaps? From an avant-classical perspective, one might mention late 60's Penderecki as a possible reference point (along with Ligeti, or perhaps even Nono). In improvised music, the Spontaneous Music Ensemble’s larger workshop groups similarly feature masses of vocal sounds; comparisons with Alan Watts’ This Is It are as plausible as they are inevitable. Ultimately, though, nothing will quite prepare you for this LP. In fact, when an original copy landed at Nero’s Neptune headquarters, one notorious ‘outsider’ label chief/collector extraordinaire's peni-meter became so perilously engorged that he nearly burst with envy, casting ridiculous offers of rare wax and unmentionable ‘favors’ our way whilst begging to let him take over. In other words, we strongly recommend purchasing this limited reissue while you can and securing appropriate spiritual condiments for the trip. After all, you CAN be anyone this time around.” High-gloss tip-on sleeves with HQ-180 gram vinyl. LP $18 SKU:19494
HIGHWAY - plus bonus LP (Sole LP from 1971 New Zealand rural/roots band)P Label:MELLOTRON RECORDS Sole album (1971) by this nearly-forgotten band from New Zealand—although they were high profile enough to have their only LP released on EMI-Regal. Highway formed in 1970 with ex-members of Retaliation, Serenity Fair, The Boddys, Apple, Bitter End, a.o. The music is underground-tinged rock with rural and roots influences. Following tours of New Zealand and Australia, Highway disbanded in 1972. This reissue comes with two bonus tracks, 'The Time Is The Time'/'What You're Doing To Me', taken from the band's 7-inch single LP $18 SKU:19495
KEDAMA - Live at Sunrise Studios (Swiss heavy-prog / kraut monster from 1976)Label:SOMMOR Swiss heavy-prog / kraut monster from 1976, originally released as a private, hand-made edition of 200 copies. Long instrumental / experimental tracks fuelled by Mellotron, Hammond, Minimoog, ripping distorted guitar and heavy drums. Kedama came from St. Gallen in the north-eastern corner of Switzerland, near the Bodensee (only a few km from Germany and Austria). Their name was inspired by Ketama, Morocco (famous for its cannabis fields). They were amongst the first bands (probably the first) to record at Etienne Conod’s legendary Sunrise Studios, using the "kunstkopf" artificial head system. "Live At Sunrise Studios" comprises four long instrumental tracks, two on each side of the LP. A digital download card is included, featuring the album plus seven bonus tracks taken from unreleased studio sessions and the compilation “Perspectives”. This is essential stuff, from the weird psych-funk of “Hwrlnzg” to the sitar-drenched“Improvisations”. *Insert with rare photos and liner notes by Alan Freeman (The Crack In The Cosmic Egg) *Repro of a rare promotional booklet *LP includes digital download card of the album plus seven amazing bonus tracks, 1973-77 *Numbered to 550 copies. LP $28 SKU:19496
MCKENNA MENDELSON BLUES- ST (bluesy psych demo tapes from 1968) -Label:PACEMAKER Another great album from Canada's legendary Paragon label, a set of super bluesy psych demo tapes from 1968; the band’s album “Stink” was received not just as a great album of electric blues, but as some sort of revelation when it appeared in the second half of 1969. Lead guitarist Mike McKenna spent time ('67-'68) in the Ugly Ducklings, but he had already developed a 'local hero' tag by playing hard electric blues as a member of the legendary Luke and the Apostles. Together, he and Joe Mendelson made arrestingly earthy music, which soon attracted another of Toronto's rock gods of the day, bassist Denny Gerrard from the Paupers, whose legendary talents had served him well on the stage of the Monterey Pop Festival, where his work with the Paupers was (and still is) considered a highlight. The material included on this disc, which was demo material that now the band claim was “bootegged” by the legitimate Paragon label (a little revisionist history, perhaps?), is arguably even more rare and interesting than that on their classic McKenna Mendelson Mainline "Stink" album. LP $19 SKU:19498
QUICK, BILL - MARAVILLOSA GENTE ( 70s obscure psych gem) -Label:TIME LAG Pressed on 180 gm audiophile grade vinyl, and limited to 1000 copiesDeluxe LP reissue of amazing little know gem (entitled “beautiful people”) from 1972. Born in Miami to an American father and Venezuelan mother, Bill split the USA and went to Madrid, Spain in the early 70s. Once there, he landed a recording deal with famous producer Alain Milhaud for the Explosion label, and set to work on this, his sole album. Sessions included an impressive cast of players in the studio, including Salvador Dominguez & Chema Pellicó (from Cerebrum), Jess Lam (Jess & James), and Frank Rojas (Sangre). One of the album’s real hidden treasures, though, was the assistance of unknown Texan Mark Gottschall, who co-wrote the title track and adds perfect vocal harmonies as well a second acoustic guitar. The album has an air of mystical psychedelia, and there's a real sun-blasted quality to it all that makes you want to crank the volume. The lyrics (all in English) feel deeply sincere; when combined with Quick’s unique voice, unusual accent, and loose delivery, it makes for one hell of a cool record. Reissued here for the first time, with the collaboration of original producer Milhaud. packaged in a heavy weight gloss coated exact reproduction of the original cover, including the original double sided insert, as well as a huge new full color foldout insert which reproduces at nearly full size the Brazilian version of the album art. Extensive notes by Salvador Dominguez, Mark Gottschall, and Alex Carretero (Guerssen Records, Spain). Art includes rare picture sleeves 45s, promotional inserts, lyric sheets; the LP labels reproduce the original psychedelic full color Explosion label art. LP $17 SKU:19296
RAIN - ST (1972 pop, psych & proto power-pop)- Label:OUTSIDER Originally released in 1972 on the Project 3 label (home also of Free Design), Rain’s self-titled album is a cult item among lovers of progressive pop, psych and proto power-pop. Fantastic songs, superb musicianship, dreamy vocals, hard guitar, Hammond…Echoes of late ‘60s Beatles, Colin Blunstone, Zombies, Caravan, Argent, Parlour Band. *Insert with liner notes by band member Cobb Bussinger and photos. “A fascinating blend of soft pop, folky psych and early prog. Rain evoke bands like Zer LP $28 SKU:19486
SANDHY & MANDHY - Para Castukis ( Rare 70s psych ) 60s style gatefold jacket - Label:LION Here at last is a chance to discover why people have been willing to pay a very steep price to hear Sandhy & Mandhy, the duo who were not a duo, the band who were not a band, creators of perhaps the rarest and most expensive album from Argentina. To tell the story of Sandhy & Mandhy, we have to go back to 1967, when Alberto Infusino (Sandhy) and Alberto Vanasco (Mandhy) began their musical partnership in the beat band The New Free Men. Like many bands of that time, Los Shaker1s and Los Walkers, for example, the New Free Men played covers of songs by the Zombies, Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds, Doors, and so on, in clubs and at parties. Yet at the same time, Infusino and Vanasco started to play their own compositions, with a national touch to the music. Let’s let Vanasco (Mandhy) take up the story: “ In 1969, we went to talk with Billy Bond, chief of La Pesada del Rock Roll, to ask about the chance to make an album. Bond said that he was not looking for a band, but for a duo who sang songs in Spanish... So, we called some friends to play together, and we called the project Sandhy & Mandhy.” They recorded the album in three hours, with a full band (Farfisa organ, congas, drums, bass, and guitars)‹one take of each song. Instead of a demo, they decided to press an LP: the company (Phonalex) pressed 110 LPs in total, which the band gave out at gigs. Sandhy & Mandhy were one of the first bands in South America bring a rebellious attitude to the music scene‹all this in a period of military repression, when forced haircuts in the streets were a common occurrence. Although they broke new ground, success was not their fate. And so thirty-eight years after the burst of improvisation that was Sandhy & Mandhy, the rest of the world can finally take a taste of their dark, groovy, beat-influenced psychedelia (that fuzz guitar on the excellent Lluvia). At times introspective and acoustic, at others manic and ramshackle in the best way, it1s quite a discovery. Now, on to the presentation‹the highest quality mastering and pressing (done at Acoustech Mastering/RTI in California, the same people who master and press every title that audiophile label Classic Records makes); the resulting LP is housed in a poly-lined sleeve, inside an ultra-heavy 1960's style gatefold jacket, which is housed in a loose-fitting plastic sleeve. Inside the sleeve, you will find an insert with full details on Sandhy & Mandhy, including lyrics in Spanish and English, printed on 100% recycled paper. The LP labels are replicas of the originals. A top of the line pressing all the way. Limited edition of 800 copies. LP $14 SKU:19499
SHIVER- Walpurgis ( Renowned 60s Swedish Psych Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS The most renowned psychedelic band from Switzerland. Their one and only LP "Walpurgis" (from 1969) is legendary and hardly affordable. So, evidently, a lot of bootleg versions appeared on the market over the years, but all of them very poorly done. The LP on Garden of Delights comes in a gatefold cover and, as usual, with a 4-page insert in LP size, including a detailed band history in German and English language, discography, cover and label repros, band photographs etc. The LP has three bonus tracks. Two of those are taken from the very rare sampler "1. Schweizer Rhythm and Blues Festival". The early version of "Repent Walpurgis" comes from a so-called split single from 1968, where you can find The Etc on its flip side. Thus, the complete released works of The Shiver can be found on this LP. The fold-out cover artwork designed by H. R. Giger was taken over unchanged. LP $26 SKU:12362
SHOTGUN -Dallasian Rock(Tight, urban blues rock Previously unrel vintage studio tracks from the 1970's) - Label:SHROOMANGEL (USA) A blend of hard hitting riff rock á la early Led Zeppelin and James Gang, with a guitar attack reminiscent of bands like Leafhound or Edgar Broughton Band. Tight, muscular, lean and mean urban blues rock riffage and soaring, soulful vocals, punchy bass and solid drumming make for a memorable set of songs that you won't soon forget. Shotgun had a successful career in and around Dallas, TX between 1974 and 1977, playing the club circuit and recording at the cities best studios. Sadly, nothing ever came of the recording sessions and Shotgun eventually morphed into VIZION, which released an album in 1980 that featured the vocals of Jan Houston. Finally after more than 38 years, Shotgun's long lost studio sessions are presented for the first time ever on LP as they were meant to be heard. The CD versions includes eleven additional bonus tracks. The most amazing thing about these tracks is how they remained on the shelf all these years! •Tight, muscular, lean and mean urban blues rock riffage. •Previously unreleased vintage studio tracks from the 1970's LP $19 SKU:19500

BAKER GURVITZ ARMY -Live In Milan Italy 1976 -Label:VOICEPRINT The Baker Gurvitz Army came into existence when former Gun and Three man Army members Paul and Adrian Gurvitz joined forces with legendary drummer Ginger Baker in 1974. The Baker Gurvitz Army was the first real musical project for Ginger Baker since the short-lived band Salt in 1972 and Ginger Baker's Airforce some two years prior to that. The band released their first album the self titled “Baker Gurvitz Army” in late 1974, and the album sold well enough to break in to the American charts. The band went on to record two further studio albums including “Elysian Encounter” in 1975 and “Hearts On Fire” in 1976. This live recording, which forms part of the Official Ginger Baker Bootleg Series, was recorded in Milan on the 23rd of March 1976 during the tour to promote what would turn out to be the bands final studio album, “Hearts On Fire.” The set list at this time reflecting the desire to promote the album included four tracks from the album including ‘Hearts On Fire,’ ‘Night People,’ ‘Thirsty For The Blues’ and ‘Neon Lights.’ There are also two tracks from “Elysian Encounter” (‘People’ and ‘Time’) and two from the bands self titled debut (‘Inside Of Me’ and ‘Memory Lane’). BILLY BOND Y LA PESADA- ST & Rocks Blues Rocks Rocks (heavy psych 1972) - Label:CLOUD FOREST A wildly eclectic brew of driving heaviness, looser trippiness, and even some delicate moments from Billy Bond -- a more freewheeling and ambitious mix of post psychedelic wildness from Brazil's Billy Bond & co! Volume 3 from 1972 is made up of 2 lengthy suites, " Lado 1 -- Acustico" and "Lado 2 -- Eectrica Camplementaria". The former is surprisingly lean in spots, with some folky psychedelia in the blender. The latter is full of abrupt, dramatic stop-start dynamics. Volume 4 from '73 includes "No Nos Paran Mas", "Hacia Algun Lugar", Gracias Al Cielo", "Estamos Hartos", "Ano 1939", "Algo Esta Por Suceder" and more. This one is more of a wild and wooly rock & roll set, and a deliciously unpredictable one! CD $10 SKU:18947

The Yays & Nays were a groovy, hip group comprised of three guys and three girls. This is a truly unique sounding album, full of creative songwriting and vocal arrangements and a style that defies any categorization. There's some fab garage folk-rock on it (the opening track 'Gotta Keep Travelling' is really astounding!), and also some tracks in a bizarre crooner-lounge 'Incredible Strange Music' vein. Reissued for the first time, in collaboration with band members, and with original artwork." CD $8 SKU:14713
PSYCHEDELIC UNDERGROUND- VOL 14 ( 70s psych prog )SAALE -Label:Garden of Delights Still plenty of greatness to unearth in the Psychedelic Underground -- just the sort of tripped-out grooves we've really come to love from this well-priced series! Some of the work here is as heavy on jazzy elements as it is psychedelic ones -- making for a great blend that's a bit more organic at times than you might expect -- a world-ranging approach to the styles that really keeps things interesting, and which nicely breaks past simple cliches of psychedelia. Plus, many of the tracks are of European origin, and from the 70s -- and they've got key proggish elements as well, especially on some of the jazzier numbers. Titles include "Summer 79" by Gravestone, "Arctic Ocean" by Pancake, "Back On My Hill" by Faithful Breath, "Ala Dalona" by Emma Myldenberger, "Question" by Joy Unlimited, "Bolero" by Aqua, and "Where Is Your Home Town COMP CD $7 SKU:8718

AURA- Sativa (1974 SF psych funk masterpiece) - Label:LION Official replica vinyl edition of this oft-sampled slab of Bay Area history, a psych funk masterpiece that cannot be denied. Aura formed in 1974 and played extensively throughout Northern California. By 1976, the band recorded their first and only album at Pacific Recording Studio in San Mateo. The original title of the album was meant to be "Sativa", but out of fear that promoting the joys of marijuana would be too controversial, the band omitted the title and just left it as "Aura". Over the ensuing decades, the Aura album has grown in stature to become a major soul/funk collector's item. It features a number of major funk tracks plus funky ballads with female vocals. Standouts include 'Sativa' (replete with water-pipe sound effects and blistering guitar), and the manic fuzz-guitar jam 'Skyrocket.' Old style tip-on jacket and quality limited edition vinyl pressing, mastered from the original tapes. LP $14 SKU:19263

DARK -Anonymous Days (UK Psych monsters) WITH INSERT-Label:VOID/HALLUCINATIONS (USA) For the first time on vinyl, killer second offering by UK Psych monsters Dark! "Anonymous Days" is the second studio album from Dark recorded 23 years after the first, the famous and highly collectable (and stone cold psychedelic classic) "Round the Edges" LP. The band's line-up remains the same— Steve Giles, Ron Johnson, Martin Weaver and Clive Thorneycroft. "Anonymous Days" contains songs written between 1974 and 1995 and is the album that Dark always wanted to make, combining the Dark progressive rock style with more modern recording techniques. "The first album was recorded in about 24 hours, this one took an awful lot longer: that's modern studios for you. The tracks are pure Dark combining complicated twin harmony guitar work with thought provoking lyrics and wide ranging musical structures. We thoroughly enjoyed getting back together again to write and rehearse after all those years, we even played a live gig in our home town of Northampton. At the start of the project Ron's bass guitar was taken from the dust in his loft where it had lain undisturbed for over twenty years. CASE - Blackwood (1971) Color insert includes notes by the band + rare photos • Limited to 500 copies -Label:LION Almost completely unknown and rarely spoken of album of nine original tracks, self-released on the legendary RPC Records label by a group of self-motivated teens from Pennsylvania. Luckily for lovers of musical mayhem, the Case got access to their school music room and a four-track recorder over a Christmas break in 1971. A rock-solid, hard-driving rhythm section lays down the necessary underpinning for moody organ and beautifully-toned guitar. There is sheer joy at play here, a kind of rock 'n' roll exuberance—with ample raw talent and wicked riffing—which shines through on every cut. Terrific raw, primitive album, simultaneously loose and intense, like the Velvet Underground at their best. • Terrific primitive album recorded in 1971 by some very advanced high-schoolers during their Christmas vacation, self-released on the legendary RPC Records label LP $14 SKU:15626
