LITTLE BIG HORN -ST (West Coast, Americana and hard-rock) DLB LP Label:SOMMOR Little Big Horn evolved from Luton-based pop-psych band Wild Silk. As occurred with many British bands from the 60s, they adopted different musical influences as the decade progressed and "underground" was the thing to be, so by the late 60s, Little Big Horn incorporated West Coast, Americana and hard-rock elements to their powerful sound. Their sole album was released only in Germany in 1971 as part of a deal between Shel Talmy Productions and the Bellaphon label (along with other obscure acts like Sunday and Diabolus) and it's an interesting mix of rootsy Americana and heavy rock. Here’s the first ever legit vinyl reissue, expanded to a double LP set with the addition of the killer 45 B-side “Just A Game” and excellent unissued material from the time. Transferred from original master tapes. Gatefold sleeve plus insert with rare photos and detailed liner notes by AlecPalao.RIYL: The Band, Led Zeppelin, Byrds, Badfinger, Grapefruit, Bronco, Plastic Penny, Youngbloods… LP $35 SKU:24476
MORMOS -The Great Wall of China plus 7” (1972 acid folk) - Label:WAH WAH Recorded in 1971 and originally only issued in France by CBS, the first LP by post-SPOILS OF WAR band Mormos is a masterpiece of fabulous experimental psychedelic acid folk sounds and bizarre melodies. Influences from contemporaries such as The Incredible String Band are present, as are some resemblances to the music of f.i. Comus or Dr. Strangely Strange. Mormos nevertheless created unique athmospheres which were (and are) unheard in other music of the era. Jim Cuomo formed Mormos after the demise of his Spoils Of War project. The new group moved from the USA to France, where they recorded two albums. The first was 'Great Wall Of China', which now gets reissued in cooperation with Cuomo himself. Included is a 7-inch EP featuring 5 bonus tracks and, of course, an insert with notes from Cuomo. Limited to 500 copies only! LP $28 SKU:24772

Originally released in 1970 by Pink Elephant, the music is a wonderful mixture of druggy folk, spacy guitar and haunting melodies that some sources have considered to be vaguely reminiscent of Love's 'Forever Changes'. They were located in Amsterdam's red light district, which is why they called themselves Oldest Profession(al) Music Company, or in short O.P.M.C. This reissue comes with remastered sound, a quality glossy laminated sleeve reproducing the original artwork, bonus tracks and an insert with photos and liner notes. Limited edition of only 500 copies. LP $28 SKU:24773

ZARPA-Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis (1977 heavy acid metal)Label:SOMMER Originally recorded in 1977, Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis, the debut album by Zarpa (AKA Zarpa Rock), an early Spanish heavy metal group, is a window-rattling blast of monster riffs and acid-induced darkness. Reissued onto vinyl for the first time by the great Guerssen Records, Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis is an in the red blown-out concept album (translated to The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse) filled with doom, nightmarish psychedelic atmospheres and buzzsaw guitar solos.
Despite not being recorded until ’77, the music here has more in common with the proto-metal bands of the late ’60s and early ’70s (especially Black Sabbath and Sir Lord Baltimore) than their popular metal contemporaries. This is likely due to budget constraints, which led to the album being supposedly cut from a single long live studio take. This lack of time, money and isolated tracking lead to a rougher and more primal sound than what was probably originally intended. However, it’s this raw and primeval quality that absolutely makes this album. A single listen will tell you that this record is on par with all of the stoner rock/stoner metal classics that came before and after it. It’s a shame that this LP was initially shelved due to Zarpa’s label at the time going bankrupt, because this could otherwise be as well regarded today as say LPs by Leaf Hound, Josefus or Lucifer’s Friend. PINK FAIRIES -The Polydor YEARS- 3 CD SET (1967 underground supergroup)-Label:FLOATING WORLD Three CD set packed with bonus tracks, beautifully re-mastered! Pink Fairies grew out of The Deviants, a loose-knit band formed in 1967 by members of the West London hippie commune in Ladbroke Grove. Consisting primarily of vocalist Mick Farren, guitarist Paul Rudolph, bassist Duncan Sanderson, and drummer Russell Hunter, the group also featured satellite members Marc Bolan, Steve Peregrine Took, and players from the band Group X, later rechristened Hawkwind. After a disastrous US tour, Farren was fired and the remaining Deviants returned to London, where they recruited vocalist and former Pretty Things drummer Twink (born John Alder), who suggested the name Pink Fairies. Despite gaining a reputation for mythic debauchery, the group remained largely an underground sensation before signing to Polydor and releasing the three albums featured on this 3xCD set. The first two albums were recorded by the original line-up but Rudolph was replaced by Larry Wallis for the third (Kings Of Oblivion). Their first album (Never, Never Land) is the strongest of the three albums with solid 'heavy' guitar from Paul Rudolph and some furious drumming from Twink. The four bonus tracks include alternate edits of three great tracks plus the early single 'The Snake'. CD $20 SKU:22509
FOREVER AMBER-The Love Cycle (1968 Holy Grail item for psychedelic pop aficionados)Label:GUERSSEN A Holy Grail item for psychedelic pop aficionados, Forever Amber’s The Love Cycle is, along with Dark and the first Complex album, one of a triumvirate of must-have private pressings from the UK.
Sounding like a blend of Pet Sounds and Odessey & Oracle but with a charming, homemade, lo-fi vibe, The Love Cycle was a concept album masterminded by talented songwriter / arranger John M. Hudson (a kind of Brian Wilson figure), who found in Cambridge band Forever Amber the perfect vehicle for his songwriting ideas. The Love Cycle was Out of print for several years, we’re thrilled to offer a new vinyl reissue of this essential psych album.*Original artwork in backflaps sleeve.*Includes colour insert with rare photos and detailed liner notes by David Wells.RIYL: ZOMBIES, BEATLES, BEACH BOYS, LEFT BANKE, HONEYBUS, BEE GEES…“One of the dozen best British pop albums of the late Sixties” – Mojo“Forever Amber’s The Love Cycle, though, resides in a secret garden all of its own, bursting with unfettered melodic glee and the pop experimentation prevalent in the provinces in 1968.” - Bob Stanley (The Times“…There are more memorable musical hooks per inch on this album than any other record I've heard…” – Stan Denski LP $26 SKU:23701
JERUSALEM ST -(1972) Insert with history of the group, lyrics and photos (HEAVY ROCKLabel:LION “Sledgehammer-heavy masterpiece of underground British rock!” —Classic Rock Magazine “Big fat chords, wailing guitar, punch-drunk bass and straight-ahead solid drums all strutting in your face like some massive guy you just don't want to f**k with.” —Head Heritage "I made the record because they are bloody good and it seems a shame for their sound not to be recorded... right now there's a rawness and excitement..." Ian Gillan, in Disc & Music Echo, January 29th, 1972 Heavy UK hard rock album from 1972, produced by Deep Purple's legendary frontman, Ian Gillan, originally released on the Decca/Deram label. It was Gillan who said of them: “Not many bands really excite me. But this one’s so raw and completely unpretentious. They make the biggest, bloodiest noise you can imagine, tempered with moments of extreme emotion.” And, of course, he’s right—the music is a menacing combination of over-the-top vocals and screaming lead guitars that could easily pass for something from the early British heavy metal scene—or something from the emotional hard core scene of the mid-1990's ('Primitive Man'). A favorite among vinyl collectors, the album is presented here in its ultimate glory, with all tracks direct from the original master tapes, housed in a high quality old-style gatefold cover; insert has liner notes written by bassist Paul Dean + rare photos. Stickered to indicate that this is the purple vinyl edition. Rough, raw, and doomy!•A new pressing on transparent purple wax of this massive hard rock monster from 1972 •Housed in deluxe old style tip-on gatefold jacket •Includes insert with history of the group, lyrics and photos LP $28 SKU:16109

OMNIBUS - ST (70s psych double LP plus 7”) Label:WAH WAH New Jersey's Omnibus formed from the ashes of garage bands from the New Milford area: The Cliffhangers, The Forerunners and The Vandals. Original members came from these three local bands and consisted of Jay Polt, Al Raimondi, Bob Wegrzyn, Bobby Marcinczack and Jerry Garino. They soon hit the local scene and got in touch with brothers Steve and Eric Nathanson who would become their managers and finance their first recordings. A United Artists recording deal was the next step, through wich the band issued their debut 45 "The Man Song" / "It's All In Your Heart" plus their eponymous LP in 1970. Omnibus had an amazing psychedelic sound that took all the right elements from West Coast bands like The Doors or The Jefferson Airplane, Bosstown sound acts like Ultimate Spinach or Chicago hipsters like H.P. Lovecraft to produce their very own Made in Milford, N.J. mixture. Strong, dramatic vocals, tons of fuzz guitar and swirling organs built up their magic sound. Wah Wah proudly offers the first ever reissue of their original 1970 album, plus a whole second LP compiling previously unreleased recordings from rare acetates with earlier recordings of some of the LP tracks and some non released songs. Also added is an extra bonus 7" with the garage killer "The Farm", which would have been an explosive 45 for the band had not been withdrawn from release. A luxury remastered 2LP + bonus 7" set that includes a facsimile of a vintage Omnibus gig poster in a gatefold package respecting the original artwork, plus an 8 page booklet with photos, lyrics and liner notes written by Jay Polt himself and reissue curator Ezra Lesser - all this in a strictly limited edition of only 500 copies, get yours while still available!
