GUSTAVO PIMENTEL - Percusiones 1963 ONE ONLY! RARE MEXICAN mini LP SLVLabel:VAM RECORDS (MEXICO) Originally released in 1963, Percusiones by Mexican bandleader Gustavo Pimentel is an unbelievably groovy set of songs that certainly delivers on the album's promised percussion! Congas, vibraphone, güiro, maracas, and timbales, among other percussion instruments, drive the sound which is filled out melodically by a horn section. The album grooves on a range of Latin styles and there is a clear bossa nova influence on much of the material plus some touches of jazz. This record was clearly made with dancing in mind and it is sure to get everybody moving from the moment you set it spinning! Really fantastic stuff! Titles include "El manicero," "Nocturnal," "Granada," "Copacabana," "Bali hai," "Cielito lindo," and "Carioca." CD $15 SKU:19915
PESCADO RABIOSO - ARtaud ONE ONLY! RARE mini LP SLVLabel:SONY Artaud (French: [a to]) is the third and final album by the Argentine rock band Pescado Rabioso, released in 1973 on Talent and Microfón. Although officially credited to Pescado Rabioso, the group had actually broken up by the time the album was recorded, and it is essentially a solo effort by musician Luis Alberto Spinetta.[1] With this in mind, Artaud is considered Spinetta's second studio album as a solo artist. Luis Alberto Spinetta was a big fan of John Lennon, and the latter's Plastic Ono Band is a point of reference to begin to understand the masterpiece known as Artaud. Both albums were recorded at times of turmoil in both artists' lives and in their respective countries, and this is reflected on the naked sincerity of their lyrics. CD $15 SKU:19913
TAMBA TRIO - Brasil Saluda A Mexico ONE ONLY! RARE MEXICAN mini LP SLVLabel:VAM RECORDS (MEXICO) Brazil Saluda A Mexico (trans. Brazil Salutes Mexico) is a rare -- perhaps the most obscure -- album from the legendary Luiz Eca's Tamba Trio. Released in Mexico only in 1966 and unreleased anywhere else until much later. A very classy and classic set of fresh and groovy takes on some of the most familiar bossa numbers of the time -- and even though the songs are quite familiar, they come off heavenly-fresh. The CD includes "Corcovado," "Garota de Ipanema," "So Danco Samba," "Berimbau," "Consolacao," "Desafinado," and four more tracks. CD $15 SKU:19914

UGLY THINGS- #39 Brian Jones -Label: Two attention-grabbing cover stories this time... Brian Jones was one of '60s rock's most iconic stars and also one of its most maligned and misunderstood. Harvey Kubernik sGHets the record straight, weaving together interviews with many people who knew or worked with Brian. The Clingers were one of the first all-female rock groups, four beautiful sisters whose story is a gripping saga of teenage drama and determination. We also have an in-depth feature one of the ultimate UK freakbeat groups, The Mickey Finn, and an interview with Michael Des Barres about his rock 'n' roll days with Silverhead. Other interviews include Chris Bailey of The Saints, Tim Warren of Crypt Records, and Aussie rocker Ross Wilson of The Pink Finks and Daddy Cool. Plus stories on the San Pedro garage band The Grapes of Wrath, The Soul Vendors, French Ye-Ye girl Annie Philippe, and folk-rock duo David & Anthony. Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies revisits 1969-70, and of course there's our comprehensive review sections covering all the latest reissues, in-depth, and rock 'n' roll-related books. BOOKS & MAGS $11 SKU:16729
UGLY THINGS- #40- Flamin Groovies, Human ExpressionLabel: The Human Expression released a pair of mind-blowing garage-psych singles in 1966 and 1967 that are today regarded as among the most exciting and original of the era: “Love at Psychedelic Velocity” and “Calm Me Down” / “Optical Sound.” In this issue the band members tell their full story for the first time. Stu Boy King was the drummer for The Dictators’ seminal debut album Go Girl Crazy! He talks here in-depth for the first time since his ejection from the group in 1975. We also have fabulous exclusive interviews with the late Dave Hassinger (studio engineer for the 1964-66 Rolling Stones 1964-66, Jefferson Airplane, and the Electric Prunes, Steve Katz (Blues Project; Blood, Sweat & Tears), and Denny Tedesco, director of The Wrecking Crew. Also, Cyril Jordan of the Flamin’ Groovies revisits the years 1970-71 and the making of the seminal Teenage Head album. BOOKS & MAGS $11 SKU:17071

Not forgetting our regular PRETTY THINGS and FLAMIN’ GROOVIES columns, and of course our info-packed reissue and book review sections. (2018) BOOKS & MAGS $11 SKU:19726
AFTER ALL - ST (TRIPPY 70s PSYCH)Label:GEAR FAB The largely unknown buy trippy psychedelic 1970 classic recorded in Nashville. Outstanding and haunting organs with a tinge of CSN&Y and Van Morrison inlfuence. CD $10 SKU:18836
ALEX- ST PLUS THATS THE DEAL (1976 TURK ROCK)Label:GERMANOFON His first two LP's from 1974 and 1976 on one CD, complete and with all original jacket artwork and lyrics. Now performs as Alex Oriental Experience. "A singer and multi instrumentalist from Cologne who released several albums which were strongly influenced by the ethnic music of Turkey. His first two albums are now eagerly hunted by collectors, as they featured a unique style of 'Turk-Rock' with stunning baglama solos (this is a kind of three-stringed Turkish guitar)! They were recorded with the help of Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit (possibly adding bass and drums on certain tracks?) at Can's Inner Space studio, so take note all you Can collectors!" (Cosmic Dreams At Play) and from elsewhere: “Magnificent Kraut meets Oriental albums by one of the considered pioneers of the genre. Members of Can participated in these first two records (including Jaki Liebezeit, Helmut Hattler, Horst Stachelhaus, and others). These two first records of Alex Wiska came with simply his name, Alex, and are very oriental/Turkish rock oriented. His later records under the name Alex Oriental Experience are much more space rock/kraut oriented. Many comparisons were made with the Turkish band Cem Karaca. Great saz tunes by Alex and good accompanied by some of the brightest names of German rock scene. Highly recommended... not to be missed!” CD $8 SKU:19034
ASTRAL PROJECTION- The Astral Scene (1968 Pop/Psych-get out the lava lamps! )-Label:GEAR FAB This 1968 Pop/Psychedelic Rock album is just chock full spacey instrumentation and utilizes horns, woodwind, and string sections very much like those used in Sgt. Peppers. The theme of this release is based upon the thoughts and feelings experienced if one were to leave the physical body (Astral Projection) and become the spiritual embodiment (Astral Body). The Astral Body begins to go back into the physical body and causes one to think about The Astral Scene…..There are some very nice male and female vocals which are backed up by the great orchestration and this LP is one to set the lights down low on and turn on the Lava Lamps!!! CD $10 SKU:19613
BLEU FOREST-A Thousand Trees Deep( 1968 ACID ROCK)Label:GEAR FAB From 1968: An unreleased album which drew the interest of Tower Records until 2 of the band members got their draft notices and the band broke up. Heavy organ driven and Seeds influenced acid rock CD $10 SKU:18876

Originally released by the German budget label Ken in 1971, The Blues Goes On may very well be be the strongest delivery from the trio responsible for those awesome early '70s Hendrixploitation LP's that were credited to The Live Experience Band. At last reissued on CD for the very first time, The Blues Goes On is the real deal, for exploito geeks and 'serious music lovers' alike!! The CD is presented in a cardeboard miniature LP-sleeve and features informative liner notes from renowned record collector and historian Hans von Seydlitz. CD $10 SKU:19655

GONZALES, WALLY -Wally on the Road (heavy acid blues psych)-Label:VICOR ENTERTAINMENT (Philippines) First off, don’t be deceived by the title—this is a studio album all the way; altogether a different sort of album from “Tunog Pinoy”, thudding out of the gate with the monumental ‘Kailan Pa Kaya’, syrupy treated vocals, John Bonham-esque drumming and all; dig too, if you will, the Zeppelin vibe of ‘Screw’ before sailing into the trippy, acoustic ‘Tattong Araw’, or the legendary ‘Wally’s Blues’; more effects than the earlier record, sounding more like newfound recordings from the late 1960’s than a mid-70’s record—this has more psychedelic credentials than most reissues which get that label bestowed upon them; you might say that while “Tunog Pinoy” is classic rock in the best sense, this is classic psychedelia, in the best sense. CD $10 SKU:18972
JULIUS VICTORFrom the Nest(1969 Jefferson Airplane style rarity)Label:GEAR FAB Another undiscovered and Ultra-Rare LP from 1969. KEITH -Adventures of Keith (1969 Brit pop gem)- LAST COPY Label:RPM he first time on CD for this overlooked British Pop gem, originally released in 1969. The music speaks to Keith's British Pop influences, and the arrangements twist and turn in such a way that they could only be from a songwriter enthralled with "Sgt Pepper's." All of this explains why the "Adventures of Keith" fell through the cracks in mainstream 1969 America, only to become a highly sought-after soft rock collectable in recent years CD $15 SKU:19874
KOPPERFIELD- Tales Untold (Ultra rare 70s hard rock) Label:GEAR FAB The ultr-rare 1974 hard rock LP by a great yet unknown Michigan band. The music is hard driving, with loud and screaming guitar, tortured vocals, and an organ sound very similar to early YES. Taken off the master tapes, this release features Nine bonus tracks never before heard. CD $10 SKU:11394
LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS -Shootin' Fire (1969 recordings) -Label:CICADELIC RECORDS (USA) Lightnin' Hopkins recorded over a dozen songs for the Clarity Music Company at the "ACA" Recording Studio in Houston in April of 1969. These songs ranged from new originals, such as 'Born In The Bottom,' 'December 7, 1941,' 'A Rainy Day In Houston,' and 'Stinking Foot,' to oldies such as 'Feel Like Ballin' The Jack,' 'Shake That Thing' and 'Shinin' Moon.' Since the 1970's some of these songs have been released on haphazard compilations with the bass and drums mixed too high, the guitar leads mixed too low, and excessive "reverb" in an attempt to make Lightnin' sound more contemporary. Now for the first time ever the original four track masters have been re-mixed without any of the extraneous studio misjudgments that marred previous releases. As an added bonus, previously unreleased recordings such as 'Movin' On Out When The Saints March In,' 'Old House Torn Down,' 'Mistrust My Baby And She Mistrust Me,' and 'Baby Please Don't Do Me Wrong' are included on this compendium of Lightnin' Hopkins gems. A large selection of never before seen photos, contracts, and documents rounds out this collection of rarities. The net result is 77 minutes of Lightnin' Hopkins in his prime "shootin' fire". •Taken from the original four track masters. •Includes previously unreleased tracks. CD $12 SKU:19764
MARKLEY- A Group (US psych legends) Label:ACID SYMPOSIUM (Greece) Reissue on CD of what was actually the 5th and final album by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band are a showcase for the various dementias of vocalist Bob Markley (paranoia and a very keen interest in young—emphasis on young—women), and the electric shock treatment of guitarist/vocalist Dan Harris; the album's rich harmonies and full, delicate arrangements show the abundant influence of Michael Lloyd, who co-produced the album with Markley; tracks such as "Elegant Ellen", "Sweet Lady Eleven" and "Magic Cat" are nearly as good as some of the highlights from the WCPAEB catalog; a surprisingly consistent and accomplished album for a band about to collapse under the collective weight of it's own insanity. CD $10 SKU:8154
MILKWOOD TAPESTRY - ST (60s acid guitar)Label:GEAR FAB Their classic self-titled 1969 LP is a journey into sea ring acid-guitar with touches of soft folky ballads, lots of heavy rock, and some mind-bending manic music that ranges in style from The Incredible String Band to Arthur Lee's Love to Jethro Tull To Fairport Convention to Sgt. Peppers. Fantastic harmonies round out this great album." CD $10 SKU:18871
MOPS-Psychedelic Sounds in Japan-Label:WORLD PSYCHEDELIA (Korea) The Mops are the undisputed kings of the late sixties/early seventies Japanese rock scene; all of their discs are marked by spectacular singing, playing, arranging, and songwriting. Yet it is their first album, "Psychedelic Sounds in Japan," that gets the most praise—rightly so, as it's a marked deviation from most of the other music making going on at the time in Japan, with its sharply stripped-down sound and emphasis on musicianship, songwriting, and atmosphere over production values. As such, it's one of the few Japanese rock albums that has an outside-of-Japan following, and it's frequently name-checked on lists of classic obscure albums. But of course, this means that original LP copies of the album trade for hilarious amounts! This reissue restores the track "Blind Bird," (missing from other reissues of this album, apparently due to its "offensive" lyrics), and adds seven bonus tracks. If you've never heard this album, and you're a fan of tightly written songs, great playing, totally incomprehensible lyrics and a smattering of surprising covers (‘The Letter,’ ‘Light My Fire,’ ‘Somebody to Love’), this one’s for you. And how can anyone live without the classic ‘I Am Just a Mops’—I mean, aren’t we all? CD $10 SKU:18954
NAMELOSERS- Fabulous Sounds From Southern Sweden ( complete collection of 7", flexi and unreleased tracks )-Label:GOT TO HURRY Swedish beat produced to absolute perfection, complete collection of 7", flexi and unreleased tracks from Sweden's leading proponents of wild beat, recorded 1964-1966 CD $10 SKU:6055
POLIFEMO- ST (70’s psych prog) - Label:WORLD PSYCHEDELIA (Korea) RARE debut album by this Argentine rock super-group, led by David Lebon (ex-Color Humano and Pescado Rabioso) on guitar and vocals, Rinaldo Rafanelli (ex-Color Humano and Sui Generis) on bass, Juan Rodríguez (ex-Los Mentales and Sui Generis) on drums, and keyboard player Ciro Fogliatta (ex-Los Gatos, Sacramento and Espíritu; a blend of rock with some slight psychedelic and progressive touches, especially the use of mellotron and moogs; the main thrust of the album is hard and heavy blues-based rock—more than a casual nod to Uriah Heep and other UK hard rock bands; includes both of their rare EMI singles+ b-sides as bonus tracks. CD $8 SKU:18993
TAJ MAHAL TRAVELLERS- Live Stockholm July, 1971 (psych) DOUBLE - Label:DRONE SYNDICATE (SWEDEN) Tokyo's Taj Mahal Travellers were one of the prime examples of a band more heard-of than actually heard. Their vinyl legacy (the 1972 LP July 15, 1972 released on CBS/Sony Japan; the 1974 2LP August 1974 released on Columbia Japan and recently reissued by P-Vine as a 2CD; one side of the mythical Oz Days Live 2LP compilation released on Oz in 1973 and recently bootlegged as a single LP) could dig a hole in your wallet deeper than the Grand Canyon. However, the recent reissues have spread the gospel and so here is the chance to hear the young Taj Mahal Travellers live in Stockholm during their 'tour' through Europe in 1971. It's one 2-hour long improvised track. Enough free-floating higher key bliss to keep every grown-up space cadet happy for a lot longer. This 2CD set is limited to 1000 copies." From Julian Cope's Japrocksampler: "This album is a discorporated, cerebral dance whose rhythm sounds like six weather Gods emulating the cover of Deep Purple's Fireball by zooming around Silverstone circuit just inches above the track, each urging himself on by making engine noises: 'Eee-oww-urghh-ow!!!!!!!' CD $14 SKU:19043
TANGERINE- The Peeling Of.. ( rare 60s garage psych )..-Label:GEAR FAB The long lost, rare album from PA-based band, in the style of Iron Butterfly & Banshee, with booming bass, pounding drums & distorted guitar, inc. the 14-minute space-out song "My Main Woman" IMPORT CD $10 SKU:18722
TROYES - Rainbo Chaser (67 psych)- Label:CICADELIC RECORDS The Troyes exploded onto the music scene with 'Rainbow Chaser' a regional smash hit that climbed to number 3 on the top 40 in September of 1966. Sensing a new phenomenon, famed bandleader Ray Anthony (who already had smash hits with 'Dragnet' and 'Peter Gunn') signed the group to his new rock label Space Records. His faith in the band was so big that nearly two albums worth of material were recorded at United Sound (Detroit) in 1966 and 1967. Unfortunately, only two singles were issued and the rest of the material was never released. Now for the first time ever, all twenty-four of The Troyes' recordings are compiled on one album. The recordings range from far-out psychedelic to unhinged fuzz and farfisa garage to moody haunting sounds. Included with this album is a detailed booklet of rare photos, radio surveys, newspaper articles, and Troyes memorabilia CD $15 SKU:19761
VAVOURA BAND - Live, the Early Days (heavy psych prog) -Label:IKAROS Heavy progressive (in the Black Sabbath vein), bluesy hard rock, even psychedelic and spacey improvisations and greek ethnic and traditional elements. WHITE LIGHTNING - Strikes Twice (70s Power Hard Rock)- Label:ARF ARF Grinding with the axe of x-Litter distorter Zippy Caplan, White Lightning's current charged Minneapolis from 1968-1971. Proving that lightning does strike twice, the band electrified audiences first as trio and then struck again as they grew into a quintet. Both phases are documented on this hard rockin' 20-track CD with extensive liner notes by Doug Sheppard. CD $12 SKU:11403
WIZARD- The Original Wizard (rare heavy Florida rock 1971)-Label:GEAR FAB The rare and heavy rock 1971 LP from these Florida musicians that toured with some of the best known acts in 1970 & 1971 and played at the great Goose Lake Music Festival!! Plus their two songs from the rare and elusive 45. CD $10 SKU:18635
ZOOT MONEY-Transition (LOST 70S PSYCH GEM)-Label:RIGHTEOUS An excellent album! Featuring the same players who were in the Big Roll Band (including future Police guitarist Andy Summers) on all tracks, Zoot Money came up with this tip-top set, which has soulful ballads, up-tempo mod material and a couple of dreamy sitar numbers written by Summers; 'Soma' inspired Summers and Money to push the boundaries and encouraged the band to wig out further, and in a state of psyche-pop bliss, they decided they were so far out of the Big Roll Band sound that they should change their name to Dantalian's Chariot. They played shows with the Pink Floyd and featured a couple of the tracks from “Transition” in stranger incarnations; Dantalion’s became a cult classic in the process, but turned their existing mod following off and failed to ignite. After the Dantalion hiatus, “Transition” was finally released (in 1968) on the Direction label; by that time, the mods had embraced the psychedelic bug and the album slipped into obscurity, and became one of those buried treasures that is talked of but seldom actually even seen. Finally, this lost gem has made it to CD. Remastered from the original quarter inch tapes, with all of its glorious sweeping sounds, aching vocals and groovy upbeat tunes intact, it's the epitome of cool. CD $8 SKU:19014

COLLAGE - ST (late 60s psych Mamas and Papas style) - Label:GEAR FAB The Collage was one of the very many short-lived psychedelic rock groups of the late 1960s. Sounding like a groovy hybrid of the Free Design and the Mamas And the Papas, the L.A.-based Collage recorded one fab LP for Smash Records. Released in January 1968, the Collage features songs penned by Curt Boettcher, Roger Nichols, the Addrisi Brothers, Price And Walsh and several originals by the band themselves. MONOCLES -The Spider, The Fly & The Boogie Man (HARD ROCKIN PSYCH 66-70-Label:OUT-SIDER This essential LP includes an insert with detailed liner notes and rare photos. Most people were introduced to the bizarre psychedelic sound of The Monocles (later The Higher Elevation) thanks to the inclusion of the bizarre 'The Spider & The Fly' and 'The Diamond Mine' on the legendary 3rd volume of'Pebbles' Vol. 3 (the "acid-punk" volume). These youngsters from Colorado formed in 1964 and they were famous for driving to gigs in a custom Cadillac hearse. Between 1965 and 1968, they released a bunch of singles for labels s.a. Chicory, Denco, Liberty. This retrospective collection includes the best of their 45 sides, plus some tracks that are previously unreleased on vinyl. SEARCH PARTY - Montgomery Chapel A psychedelic masterpiece ! -180 gram w insert- photos, Label:LION The only authorized reissue of this psychedelic masterpiece180 gram vinyl edition .A holy grail for collectors of psychedelia Insert is packed with info and band history by band leader Nick Freund, plus photos from his personal archiveSearch Party was the brainchild of (then Reverend) Nicholas Freund. Having left Wisconsin to join a burgeoning West Coast religious scene, Freund made his way to San Francisco in 1968 to lay down this sole effort with some of his students. The result is a spooky trip that’s equal parts acid-soaked mind expansion and God. Laced with haunting vocals and dreamlike passages, sinister farfisa, blasts of fuzz guitar and downer lyrics, Montgomery Chapel is psychedelic music at its most evocative and thanks to its depth and sense of anxiety, most truly spiritual. The ominous nine-minute drifter 'So Many Things Have Got Me Down,' for example, tackles the difficulties of an unfulfilled married life, depression and spiritual apathy, all while riding a stripped down, grooving beat. If you can imagine a lo-fi United States of America/Jefferson Airplane hybrid, you have an idea of how cool this band sounds. Only 600 copies were pressed and issued on the custom Century label; they've become holy grails of collectors. Artists as disparate as Current 93's David Tibet and Sonic Boom have heaped praise on it. We're thrilled to give this lost classic a proper reissue. Audio restoration by Anders Peterson. Insert is packed with info thanks to Nick Freund, who was gracious enough to delve into his memory, scrapbook, and photo albums to help us flesh out the portrait of one of the most potent—and perhaps most unlikely—psychedelic groups to ever record an album. LP $23 SKU:16224
