NEW ARRIVALS
UGLY THINGS- #40- Flamin Groovies, Human Expression The Human Expression released a pair of mind-blowing garage-psych singles in 1966 and 1967 that are today regarded as among the most exciting and original of the era: “Love at Psychedelic Velocity” and “Calm Me Down” / “Optical Sound.” In this issue the band members tell their full story for the first time. Stu Boy King was the drummer for The Dictators’ seminal debut album Go Girl Crazy! He talks here in-depth for the first time since his ejection from the group in 1975. We also have fabulous exclusive interviews with the late Dave Hassinger (studio engineer for the 1964-66 Rolling Stones 1964-66, Jefferson Airplane, and the Electric Prunes, Steve Katz (Blues Project; Blood, Sweat & Tears), and Denny Tedesco, director of The Wrecking Crew. Also, Cyril Jordan of the Flamin’ Groovies revisits the years 1970-71 and the making of the seminal Teenage Head album. BOOKS & MAGS $10 SKU:17071

Fuzzy guitar mixes with jazzy hammond, garagey grooves, and loads of other vintage touches – and the set features 80 tracks that include "Something's Coming Alng" by The Schepters, "Cornflake Zoo" by Andy Ellison, "Major Catastrophe" by Katch 22", "Summer Leaves Me With A Sigh" by Tuesday's Children, "Gimme Gimme Some Shade" by The Untamed, "Smokestack Lightning" by The Others, "I'm Leaving" by The Tribe, "Make Your Mark Little Man" by National Pinion Pole, "Touch Of Velvet Sting Of Brass" by The Mood Mosaic, "Archipelgo" by The Underground Set, and "Sookie Sookie" by The Valentine COMP CD $42 SKU:16489
SCHNITZELBEAT,VOL. 2- VA You Are the Only One-Raw Teenage Beat And Garage Rock Anthems From Austria 1964-1970- Label:DIGATON The artists compiled on this collection translate the air of unrestrained abandon transported by the newly emerging popular genres into their own, locally flavored idiom: Teenage Beat and Garage Rock made in Austria, 1964-1970. Presenting internationally operating epigones of Austrian underground sound of the 1960s (THE SLAVES, THE GAMBLERS) alongside recently re-discovered trailblazers of independent production (THE LOST GENERATION, THE EARLS), 'Schnitzelbeat Vol. 2' is the first compilation of its kind to pay respect to the wilder side of home-grown Austrian teenage sound of the 1960s in all its diversity. You'll find instro rock smashers, beat ballads, straight-up rhythm'n'blues pieces, jangling, folksy harmonies, savage proto-punk blowouts, and, of course, the off-the-wall appropriations of well-known international beat hits that often provided ambitious amateurs with the jump-start they needed to get their own sound up and running. BATORS, STIV - Do you Believe in Magyk- IMPORT Label:EASY ACTION Comes with black inners leeve and 2-sided insert with liner notes "Magyck In Theory & Practice" written by Nina Antonia
Recorded in May 1990, Do You Believe In Magyk? features the last ever recordings made by Stiv Bator (The Dead Boys, The Lords of the New Church), issued briefly in France as The Last Race. The album finds Stiv covering songs by The Ramones, The Young Rascals and The Lollipopp Shoppe, plus a song written especially for the proceedings by Tony James (Generation X, Sigue Sigue Sputnik). He also tackles his own old Lords of the New Church rehearsal song "Two Hearts." Do You Believe In Magyk? boasts contributions from Godfathers guitarist Kris Dollimore and Monte Cristos and ex-Sigue Sigue Sputnik guitarist Neal Whitmore. Both Johnny Thunders and Dee Dee Ramone were originally present for the recordings but due to a disagreement both departed without contributing to the album despite urban myths of the contrary. Liner notes by author Nina Antonia.

CRAMPS - Coast to Coast DOUBLE LP (Live 1979 ) -Label:LET THEM EAT VINYL A Live FM radio broadcast of THE CRAMPS, recorded at Irving Plaza, New York, on 18th August 1979. This is a great album that captures the chaos of those wild, early Cramps concerts. LP $32 SKU:16875
DEVO - HARDCORE Vol 1 74-77-Label:SUPERIOR VIADUC DEVO's 'Hardcore' documents the groups beginning as pre-punk outcasts in the fertile Akron, Ohio, underground rock scene. Spawned at the nearby college of Kent State, site of the infamous May 4 massacre, DEVO formed as a conceptual art project armed with the radical philosophy of de-evolution. Brothers Mothersbaugh (Mark, Bob and Jim) and brothers Casale (Jerry and Bob), along with drummer Alan Myers, soon whipped up an otherworldly brand of "devolved blues" that could hold its own alongside the beatnik groove of 15-60-75 (a.k.a. The Numbers Band) or the primal rock poetry of The Bizarros. Recorded on various four-track machines and in tiny studios, basements and garages between 1974-1977, 'Hardcore' reveals their strikingly clear vision: rock'n'roll stripped bare of its collective cool and jerked back into propaganda fit for the post-modern man. It's no surprise that these transmissions would soon catch the eye and ear of Brian Eno, who later produced their landmark 1978 debut album. Noisy synth, strangled guitar chops and a primitive rhythmic thud power the early DEVO sound. Threaded beneath it all are lyrical themes of post-McCarthy paranoia, middle-class ephemera and DEVO's long-running topic of choice: sex, or lack thereof. Few moments in pop music history can match the grinding, pent-up energy of 'Mongoloid' and the spastic bounce and sputter of 'Jocko Homo' (two anthems presented in their earlier and superior versions here). Cult favorites like 'Mechanical Man' and 'Auto-Modown' make Volume 1 essential listening. Superior Viaduct and Booji Boy Records are proud to present DEVO's 'Hardcore' to a new generation of spuds, lovingly packaged with Moshe Brakha's stunning cover photography. As David Bowie said in 1977, DEVO is indeed "the band of the future." LP $29 SKU:17030

GTO'S -PERMANENT DAMAGE LTd ed of 500 -Label:STRAIGHT Limited to 500 copies in gatefold sleeve. IMPORT The GTO's began as a collection of wildly outrageous girls who frequented the Sunset Strip in LA and hung out with the bands and groups who performed in that area during the late 1960s, such as Carl Franzoni & the Log Cabin commune, the Magic Band and Mothers Of Invention. They effectively coined the phrase 'groupies' and initially became the Cherry Sisters, then became a spontaneous performance-art collective known as the Laurel Canyon Ballet Company, which was an opening act for gigs led by Frank Zappa. Two members, Miss Frka and Miss Pamela, were also babysitters in the Zappa household. In 1969 Zappa collected this group together, producing them as one of his side projects, as the GTO's (an acronym for Girls Together Outrageously). 'Permanent Damage' consequently featured a number of renowned musicians who happened to be around the LA 'freak scene' during these psychedelic and experimental music times. The group also crossed paths with the notorious Plaster Casters Of Chicago, who became the subject upon two of their album tracks. LP $25 SKU:16617
PHANTASIA- ST ( ultimate 1970 heavy-psychedelic underground masterpiece W outstanding artwork, linernotes and colour photos )-Label:WORLD IN SOUND Phantasia is one of the ultimate heavy-psychedelic underground masterpieces from the early 1970s. When speaking about inventive and top-rated US psych-underground albums like Cold Sun, Dragonwyck, C.A. Quintet, Hunger or Mystic Siva for sure Phantasia should not be forgotten. The guitar dominated four piece group recorded one full length record in 1971 and a second one-sided demo LP in 1972, both became legendary among collectors and extremely expensive, only 25 copies were pressed of each. Since the limited "World In Sound" collectors edition which included both recordings is sold out since many years, we present here the exact reissue of their 1971 recorded debut album. The music creeps slowly and intensely into your mind, whether stoned or not - be invited on a journey when acoustic spheric mystic folk realms turn into raw garage hardrock with stunning vocals and advanced guitar freak-outs and jams. The 8 songs run between 3 and 9 minutes and they are deep, haunted and their variety leads into lots of unexpected moments and creates always an unique atmosphere. Unbelievable that this extremely talented band and their music didnt reach a higher level of popularity backthen. The album is presented with outstanding artwork, linernotes and colour photos - ONE of the "must have" 60s/70s psychedelic treasures! LP $22 SKU:15649

"With their stellar musicianship and impeccable style, a more perfect album is scarce. Intent on bringing back the neglected elements of swing, they infuse it with barhouse boogie-woogie, gospel, and ragtime. It's surprisingly authentic, as these boys have obviously done their homework. The lyrics are superb, with a sense of humore bigger than a plate of pasta at your aunt Dora's, and nearly as big as her.
