ABOUT THE ARTISTS
NATHANIEL MAYER - Why Won't You Let Me Be BlackNathaniel Mayer (1944-2008) was one of the all-time great soul singers. His 1962 record "Village of Love" made him a star, and he inspired several generations of musicians, especially in his hometown of Detroit. Nathaniel's last sessions took place during two long summer days and nights of intense jamming, writing, and recording. "Why Don't You Give It To Me?" was the first installment of these recordings to be unleashed. Now, here at last, is a second volume of Nathaniel Mayer having a blast with the assistance of members of the BLACK KEYS, SSM, OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY and the DIRTBOMBS. The two acoustic performances are from a 2007 radio interview, Nathaniel's only known "unplugged" performance. drilled bar code
NATHANIEL MAYER - Why Don't You Give It To Me With the BLACK KEYS! Detroit Soul R&B legend Nathaniel Mayer come back album w/ members of the Black Keys, SSM, Outrageous Cherry, and the Dirtbombs. "That three successful contemporary rock'n'rollers should have sought out and championed such a lost hero is heroic in itself, and Dan Auerbach, Troy and - most especially - Matthew Smith should be praised to the skies. That the chosen artist should rise to the occasion in such a manner is even more thrilling, which is why I say to Nathaniel Mayer: 'Bravo, Lord Motherf-cker, and deep gratitude for laying this Righteous Thang upon us.' Amen" - Julian - drilled bar code
T MODEL FORD - The Ladies Man He started playing guitar based on Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, but T's only got one style: his own. T's illiterate, so no use in talking to him about tuning. They call it "open T" because it's his own unique sound. "The Ladies Man" is T-Model Ford's seventh album, and what makes it unique is that it's entirely acoustic. Recorded at Planet Sound Studios in Wichita, Kansas, the album is the product of a live, one-take afternoon session with no overdubs and minimal mixing. T wanted to play acoustic guitar and have 100% control over the record and everyone involved in the project agreed he should do it the way he wanted. The result is pure T Model, with some newer young musician-friends playing along with him. "I'm a ladies man. The ladies follow me everywhere. Some folks don't like white folks. I like the white folks, they helped make me famous and I've made money. The white folks appreciate the blues, they appreciate T-Model. I love white folks." - T-Model Ford - drilled bar code
T MODEL FORD & Gravelroad - Taledragger On superb re-tellings of blues staples, the fuzzy, thick-as-molasses reverb-fueled blues-rock-chug of the trio menacingly oozes behind the Ford’s blacker-than-blue cracked growl (…) With a little help from his friends, T-Model Ford has once again walked into the studio and bettered himself. – Alan Brown / PopMatters drilled bar code
ANDRE WILLIAMS - Life Garage soul classic! "One of the last living links to the heyday of dirty R&B, super-soul and first generation booty funk. And certainly one of the few left who still brings it like he means it, every time. He's as real as it gets." – Blurt- drilled bar code

BLACK RAINBOWS -HAWKDOPE (70s style psych-fuzz trio)Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS . The Italian psych-fuzz trio Black Rainbows sound like the bastard offspring of '70s hard-rock swagger and '90s stoner-groove; hints of Black Sabbath, MC5 and Hawkwind fuse with liberal pinches of Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu. A psychedelic, lysergic storm of heavy space-rock. Includes 1 bonus track, originally released on the 'HPS Sampler Vol. 2' CD. CD $10 SKU:19682
BLEU FOREST-A Thousand Trees Deep( 1968 ACID ROCK)Label:GEAR FAB From 1968: An unreleased album which drew the interest of Tower Records until 2 of the band members got their draft notices and the band broke up. Heavy organ driven and Seeds influenced acid rock CD $10 SKU:18876
BLEU FOREST - ICHIBAN Live At Jimmies (1967 summer of love!) - Label:GEAR FAB The very first recordings by the BLEU FOREST happened after they played a show at the "Hey You Coffeehouse" in Ventura, CA. Jimmie Haskell decided to have them come to Hollywood and record on the spot at his place. His intention was to capture how the band sounded live, and this is what you get in Ichiban: Two mics, the band, a recording machine, no retakes, spontaneity and raw energy, a time-capsule direct From Jimmie's place in 1967. The sound and the style reminiscent of what was happening in San Francisco around 1966/1967 is captured in these recordings. ichiban mirrors the pinnacle days at Haight-Ashbury, echoes of the summer of love, "Turn on, tune in, drop out"! BODO MOLITOR- Hits Internacionales (ultra-rare 60s Mexican psych holy grail for collectors paper-sleeve mini-LP replica. ) -Label:VAM MEXICO Official master-tape reissue of this ultra-rare Mexican garage psych record that's a holy grail for collectors. Globe-trotting artist Bodo Molitor may have been born in Germany, but he’ll forever be associated with the psychedelic scene in Mexico. In addition to creating the zoomorphic art for his own bizarre album, he also created the psychedelic art for the Kaleidoscope album, for La Libre Expresion, and for his brother Reinhold’s solo album. As for “Hits Internacionales”, it has all the ambience and psychedelic delirium of the time, full of devastating fuzz and wacked out rhythms. And then there is Bodo’s raspy and savage voice. Impressive. As Antonio Malcara says in his book "Catologo subjetivo y segregacionista del Rock Mexicano", this LP and that of Kaleidoscope are the two most important and representative pieces of Mexican garage rock-psychedelia. Collectors offer thousands of dollars to be able to get an original copy of “Hits Internacionales” in good condition CD $8 SKU:15120
BOG OAK-A TREATISE ON RESURRECTION AND THE AFTERLIFE-Label:SVART Bog Oak is a fuzz-drenched blackened doom outfit from California that formed in May, 2013. The band's debut-EP 'A Treatise On Resurrection And The Afterlife' consists of four allegories that pay as much homage to Black Sabbath and Hellhammer as they do to the metaphysics of Mulla Sadra, Suhrawardi's philosophy of illumination and the alchemy of Al-Ghazali. With their commitment to huge, gnarly guitar and bass tones, thundering drums, and vocals that range from demonic screams to angelic cleans, Bog Oak creates a heavy brew of mystical dirges and forsaken atmospheres. CD $10 SKU:18933
BROTHERHOOD, THE -STAVIA(1972 Ohio hippie acid rock) -Label:OUT SIDER Originally released in 1972, in a private edition of 200copies, the sole album by this fine Ohio-based outfit gets reissued on CD. Musically we're talking an imaginative blend of hippie-flavoured acid/psych-rock, and soul and funk. Badlybootlegged in the '90s, as an lp including tracks from a totally unrelated band, 'Stavia' byThe Brotherhood, at last sees a proper and official revival. Liner notes by band member John Hurd are included. CD $14 SKU:19671
BULDOZER-THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION 1995 (2CD)-Label:MUZA A fine collection of recordings from the Yugoslavian/Croatian underground band, presented as a DOUBLE-CD. The material dates back to the years 1975-1995. CD $15 SKU:19971
BULENT ORTAÇGIL-B-enimle Oynar Misin (1974 Turkish folk) Label:WORLD PSYCHEDELIA South Korean pressing. Bulent Ortacgil's absolutely phenomenal 1974 debut Benimle Oynar Misin is considered a landmark album in his native Turkey, but after three decades the singer-songwriter remains virtually unknown in the United States. The songs are written and arranged simply and tastefully, with Bulent’s gravelly voice and gorgeous finger-picked guitar in the forefront of most tracks, fronting spare, introspective folk rock arrangements that feauture piano, trumpet, saxophone, and strings. The mood is melancholic, but with a strong underlying sense of hope and joy. Even though we don't understand a word of Turkish, this is one of the most engrossing records we've heard in ages. An album that promises to stick with you for a long, long time CD $10 SKU:20392

FILE UNDER MALE VOCAL- VA - he Golden Age of the Beat Balladeer 60s British Label:PSYCHIC CIRCLE The Golden Age of the Beat Balladeer. After enjoying countless compilation albums of psych, beat, garage, girl groups, instrumentals, soul, exotica etc., the Psychic Circle label now releases a compilation which concentrates on that most popular of '60s phenomena, the British male vocalist. These are great tracks and performances that can't really be considered beat, soul or psych, but at the same time conjure a similar sort of mental image. Solid, classy songs performed by great singers which readily evoke the sense of excitement and freshness prevalent in that decade. As legendary psych musician and Psychic Circle label-head, Nick Saloman (The Bevis Frond) expounds, "What I was trying to assemble for this album was a selection of quality male vocal, with a kind of pop/beat feel. The kind of thing you might have heard in any London discotheque alongside the beat groups, the Stateside soul-sounds, the groovy girls and burgeoning psych riffs. Nothing too MOR or fey, just cool guys doing what they did best. I reckon it's a long overdue examination of a hitherto overlooked genre. It doesn't really need a label, but if you want to give it one, just file under - male vocal." Artists include: Mickey Clarke, Jason Cord, Gerry Deville, Dominic Grant, Nicholas Hammond, Christian Ward, Graham Bell, Jerry Page, Dane Hunter, Brian Keith, Keith Powell, Don Adams, Neil Landon, Greg Hunter, Dave Walton, Danny Street, Dorian Gray, Rudi Bennett, Ronnie Jones, and James Royal. GAIETY RECORDS STORY- VOL.2 (Rare 60s garage, punk & psych singles) SALE! Label:PACEMAKER At last, a second collection of rare singles from the label that produced the cream of the mid-sixties crop of Canadian garage, punk, and psychedelic music! The Gaiety roster was rich in talent (the 49th Parallel, Jarvis Street Review, and Souls of Inspyration, not to mention the Checkerlads, White Knights, Dewline, Tomorrow's Keepsake, NRG, Merriday Park, and Portland Street South)—but it was not rich in resources, which is why these singles are so incredibly rare. This second Gaiety Records volume has twenty-four tracks in all, ranging from the ferocious punk psych of Solid Reputation’s ‘Lies’ to the wonderfully druggy (and truly demented) ‘Ode to a Cucumber, A Berry, and A Flower", a song that deserves to be in the pantheon of weird psychedelia right alongside the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band’s ‘Help, I’m a Rock’. NRG’s UK psych-inspired ‘Magic Man,’ much in demand in collector’s circles, is here in all its glory—along with six other tracks by this underrated band, including the psychedelic groover ‘Withcraft’. Other highlights are four more terrific beat/pop songs from the Plague and Lexington Avenue (bands who would become better known later as Jarvis Street Review). Tracks by the Checkerlads, Tomorrow's Keepsake, Flying Colours, Portland Street South, round out the disc, and (we hope) bring pleasure to everyone. COMP CD $10 SKU:16069
GOTHIC ROCK 2- The Birth of Gothic Rock 80s and 90s DBL CDLabel:JUNGLE The first CD features bands that influenced the birth of Gothic Rock. Bands like Theatre of Hate, The Southern Death Cult, Skeletal Family, Bolshoi, and March Violets showcase early gothic music at its best. You could pick up a record by almost any band on the first CD and you will not be disappointed. The second disc has some more modern gothic bands, that fit more into the stereotype. Buy this CD and you will not be sorry.

HE & SHE -VA 2 FAR-OUT POP PSYCH DUOS from the late 60's!!-Label:PET "It pretty much began with Sonny and Cher. When the teener template of Paul and Paula and Dick and Deedee got superimposed on the hip set, a new genre was born. The success of co-ed pairings like Mimi and Richard and Nino and April had coffee house folkies shacking up in droves and soon every town had it?s own dynamic duo. There were variations too. Paul and Mary found their Peter. John Phillips had two chicks so he had to find another Papa. But the sound was what made it, the call and response, the traded verses?love stories acted out over twelve-strings ringin?, like shaggy-topped Romeos and Juliets in tight slacks and pilgrim belts. You?ve heard some of the reissues?the Blackburns and Snows, the Jims and Jeans?their stories and music made public again after years in obscurity. Now hear the ones who didn?t quite crack the radio charts, at least not for long. The ones whose songs remain unsung. Heroes and heroines in the nightclubs and studio booths. Reaching out in the darkness, and the sunshine too. In love and touching forever. She and He. He and She." COMP CD $14 SKU:19730

Long thought to be lost, these are the Mandrake Memorial's 1969 recordings. LP $20 SKU:18583
MCKENNA MENDELSON BLUES- ST (bluesy psych demo tapes from 1968) -Label:PACEMAKER Another great album from Canada's legendary Paragon label, a set of super bluesy psych demo tapes from 1968; the band’s album “Stink” was received not just as a great album of electric blues, but as some sort of revelation when it appeared in the second half of 1969. Lead guitarist Mike McKenna spent time ('67-'68) in the Ugly Ducklings, but he had already developed a 'local hero' tag by playing hard electric blues as a member of the legendary Luke and the Apostles. Together, he and Joe Mendelson made arrestingly earthy music, which soon attracted another of Toronto's rock gods of the day, bassist Denny Gerrard from the Paupers, whose legendary talents had served him well on the stage of the Monterey Pop Festival, where his work with the Paupers was (and still is) considered a highlight. The material included on this disc, which was demo material that now the band claim was “bootegged” by the legitimate Paragon label (a little revisionist history, perhaps?), is arguably even more rare and interesting than that on their classic McKenna Mendelson Mainline "Stink" album. LP $17 SKU:19498
MERKIN -Music from Merkin Manor (70s rare West Coast psych) insert with liner-notes IMPORT- Label:OUT SIDER Fabulous and ultra-rare U.S. West Coast psychedelic album from Merkin. Newly remastered sound Released in 1973 on Windy Records (same label as Creation Of Sunlight) but sounding more 1967-1968 with fuzzed-out/jangly guitars and melodic, floating harmony vocals. LP $14 SKU:19526
MILLARD & DYCE - ST AKA OPEN (ACID ARCHIVES GEM, 70s folk rock) Label:VOID •Vinyl reissue debut for this Acid Archives gem. "... Impressive, successful mix of electric and acoustic contemporary folk blues, with three guitars and bass. The typical private press weakness in singing and playing is missing; instead we get earthy, convin cing vocals delivering no-bullshit tunes on Native Americans, the environment and society, mixed with more private love songs. A definite Tim Hardin influence can be heard, and as often it’s an advantage, especially since the emotional commitment of Millard & Dyce is so very real. A musical equivalent of those great old 70s movies like “The Scarecrow” or “Five Easy Pieces”; skillfully spun tales from the American underbelly with no desire to compromise. Fenner, Leland & O’Brien is a possible comparison, and this is at least as good." —Patrick Lundborg (RIP), Acid Archives. LP $17 SKU:19625
MORNING DEW - ST DOUBLE LP (60s rare psych collectors fave )Label:LION Morning Dew have been psych collector faves for ages. Their sole release, "At Last" (much like the Morgen album on Probe) becomes more obviously crucial with each passing year. After recording their legendary album for Roulette in 1969, Morning Dew headed back to Topeka feeling good about their prospects. But Roulette had problems. They did finally release "At Last" late in 1970... and marketed it so well it became a psychedelic rarity and a cult favorite. Even so, Morning Dew's producer at Roulette urged the band to record a demo of songs for a second album. They went to a local studio in August 1970 and blasted out eight songs, bolstered by new recruit Ferdy Baumgart's Hammond B3. Band leader Mal Robinson also made acoustic two-track recordings in his basement: new songs, plus others from the Morning Dew repertoire—just vocal and guitar. The band gigged while Roulette and it's honcho Morris Levy withered under scrutiny by law enforcement. A second album came to nothing. Still under contract with Roulette and still dealing with broken promises, burnt out and broke, Morning Dew disbanded in June, 1971. But those demos... they need to be heard. That's where we come in. Two records, chock full of your new favorite Morning Dew songs, plus solo acoustic versions of band classics like the monumental 'Crusader's Smile,' alternates, and more, most of which is previously unreleased. One more thing: all of this material is making its vinyl debut. LP $25 SKU:18280

BLUE STRATOS-DIAMOND AFTERLIFE (GARAGE BLUES DUO) -Label:OFF THE HIP Stripped back Melbourne garage duo Blue Stratos pepper “Diamond Afterlife” with enough primal gems to dazzle the most demanding fencer of stolen jewels. Duos playing garagey blues can become samey after continual exposure. There’s plenty of light and shade, however, and Cobra is a pretty fair drummer into the bargain. “Uptown” has a genuine swing in the feel and some sharply serrated guitar. “Kick Your Ass” (their Oblivians cover) is a killer version but the real surprise is the steaming surf-tinged “The Dozens” which sounds like Link Wray on acid. CD $6 SKU:19245

BORN LOSERS- CYCLE GUITARS (Davie Allen style)-Label:MEAN DISPOSITION In these times of copious record releases, it was sort of strange that the Born Losers -a popular and already veteran band, with three excellent and successful singles under their belt- had still not waxed an album. It was not a matter of indolence, since their members were involved in all sorts of side projects, and their first LP confirms that the Losers were getting ripe for top-rank R'n'R. The results are exceptional indeed. Far from their early influences -namely, the sound of Davie Allan & The Arrows-, the band retains its peculiar sixties flavour, but their references have increased. The clear Arrows influence from their beginnings has now been replaced by ideas from the Challengers or the sound of the Ventures in their late Dolton records/early Liberty waxings: raw R'n'R, allied with pop melodies, jazzy touches and film music, without ever falling into corniness. The Born Losers are emerging as clear winners with this latest offering. CD $8 SKU:20655

BOYSKOUT - School of Etiquette ( S.F. girl pop/punk SIOUXSIE & the BANSHEES style LAST COPIES -Label:ALIVE This San Francisco all-girl band manufactures a seductive blend of pop/new-wave ala early CURE, SLEATER KINNEY, SIOUXSIE & the BANSHEES and JOY DIVISION, while remaining true to its punk-rock roots. "If some CBGB's Frankenstein had managed, circa 1977, to transplant Patti Smith's sensibility into Blondie's garage-band pop, the result would have sounded something like BoySkout's "School of Etiquette." Outfitted in such New Wavey accessories as sneakers and skinny ties, this lesbian-rock quartet revives such Smithian motifs as drowning and the erotic appeal of outlaws, but with girl-group bounce. School of Etiquette may not be genteel, but it is impeccably arranged." - Mark Jenkins / Washington Post CD $3 SKU:2208
BRAINSTORM -Smile A While(1972 Krautrock Hendrix inspired) Label:LION With this record from 1972, Brainstorm, led by future Guru Guru stalwart Roland Schaeffer, established themselves as one of Germany’s premier bands. Their complex Krautrock, based on strange harmonics (thanks to Schaeffer’s enthusiasm for Jimi Hendrix and the free jazz sounds of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders), and impelled by wild and distorted sax, flute, and Vox organ, would later put them smack in the middle of that bible for the intrepid musical adventurer, the revolutionary music reference guide known as the Nurse With Wound list. As NWW themselves said, "Categories strain, crack and sometimes break, under their burden—step out of the space provided." What better endorsement of Brainstorm could there be? Brainstorm took only fifteen days including mixing (during the tragic 1972 Munich Olympics, as it happens), to record their favorite numbers, all under the direction of a producer little interested in their music. That’s a great shame, for these recordings show Brainstorm to be one of the best of the inventive off-beat bands of the era, along with the likes of Moving Gelatine Plates (France), Pazop (Belgium), and of course, Soft Machine and Caravan. Booklet reproduces all original LP gatefold art; liner-notes tell the band’s history up to the completion of this album. Includes all the tracks from "Smile A While," plus three heavily grooving bonus tracks originally recorded for SWF radio in 1971 as Fashion Pink. CD $10 SKU:19977

BUBBLE PUPPY - Gathering of Promises ( 60s TEXAS HEAVY PSYCH PUNK ) - Label:COLLECTABLES Formed in San Antonio in 1967, the Bubble Puppy's first 45 waxing, the brilliant Hendrix-inspired 'Hot Smoke & Sassafras', combined hard rock with fresh vocal harmonies and reached #14 in the U.S. charts in March 1969. The resultant follow-up, 'A Gathering Of Promises', featured more of the same raw, garage-psych sound and was equally strong. Somewhat removed from the deep acid psych of the label-mates' 13th FloorElevator's 'Easter Everywhere' or The Golden Dawn's 'Power Plant IA albums', it is highly enjoyable album and stands as one of the label's most refined rock efforts. EASTERN PA ROCK - PART l - 61-66 ( 60s garage ) w 40 page booklet! -Label:ARF ARF During the first half of the '60s, a young entrepreneur by the name of Clay Barclay had the foresight and vision to capture Hamburg to Pottsville's prolific and bustling music scene. GARAGEAHOLIC - VA Psychedelic! Outsider Music!-Label:ARF ARF Obscure sixties garage punk and psychedelic rock may be the imprint’s main thrust, but every so often they wander outside such territories and release music that is just plain weird. For those not hip to the Arf! Arf! label, this thirty- track sampler serves as a fine overview of what they’re all about. And for those who have been supporting the record company’s cause all these years, you’re still in for a treat, as how nice it is to have such groovy tunes situated in one place. From the spit and swagger of “I Can’t See You” by The Starlites to the absolutely stupid yet utterly charming “Stinky Poodle” by Tangela Tricoli, here’s a disc that offers something for everybody. On the instrumental front, there’s the acid damaged delight of "Kaleidoscope" from Peter Pan and The Good Fairies and Erik Lindgren’s totally gorgeous version of The Edgar Winter Group’s "Frankenstein," which takes classical muzak to new and improved heights. Erik further shares his talents on “Route 28-American Kids Still Wanna Rock,” a super catchy pop rocker where his inner Rick Springfield meets Bryan Adams is revealed. Charted of shuffling rhythms, The Rising Storm’s “Love Starvation” pays loving homage to Bo Diddley, “Flyte” by The Flowerz pairs social oriented prose with the bracing bite of The Rolling Stones and The Standells, The Legends unveil a dosage of wah-wah battered guitar reflexes on “High Towers” and Changin’ Tymes travel a heavy duty psychedelic route on “Blue Music Box.” A strong Jefferson Airplane influence arises on the rebellious tones of 6 Feet Under’s “Inspiration In My Head,” The Victors turn in a loyal cover of Them’s “Little Girl” and The Litter quake and shake on “Mindbreaker.” Stacked from top to bottom with enjoyable sounds, “Garageaholic! Psychedelic! Outsider Music!” is the best greatest hits album that never was. COMP CD $8 SKU:20009

GOOD TO THE LAST DROP- VA Killer Rare Sixties & Seventies Soul - Label:FANTASTIC VOYAGE (England) Killer collection of obscure soul tracks! Ember Records founder Jeffrey Kruger sought out the best soul sounds, and the label maintained a steady stream of classy soul releases throughout the sixties and seventies. The CD begins with five well-known Northern Soul tracks: Mr. Floods Party come in with a propulsive version of the Gene McDaniels song ‘Compared To What’; dance-floor favourite ‘Looky Looky’ by The Brothers Grimm is included here too. R&B flavoured items such as Jewel Akens ‘Wee Bit More Of Your Lovin’ have been getting more exposure in the clubs in recent years. The Casinos were known for their ballads, but ‘That’s The Way’ proves they could deliver a commanding performance on uptempo tracks too. Milt Matthews gives impassioned performances on four of his compositions, ‘Oh Lord (You Gotta Help Me),’ ‘That’s What I Feel For You,’ ‘Disaster Area’ and ‘Can’t See Myself Doing You Wrong.’ The Pac-Keys hip instrumental ‘Dig In’ was recorded at Hi Studios in Memphis. Dee Edwards has two tracks: the sprightly dancer ‘Why Can’t There Be Love’ and the yearning ballad ‘Hurt A Little Everyday.’ Tony & Tyrone whip up a storm on their pounding dance tracks ‘Everyday Fun’ and ‘Whip Your Loving On Me.’ Fork In The Road have the most sought-after Ember soul 45—both sides, ‘Can’t Turn Around Now’ and ‘Skeletons In The Closet’ are included. Ed Robinson’s ‘Hey Blackman’ is fine deep soul, a heartfelt call to black Americans to assert themselves. Mary Frazier Jones was best known as a professional gospel singer and offers a sanctified performance on Jackie DeShannon’s rousing message song ‘Put A Little Love In Your Heart.’ The catchy disco track ‘Good To The Last Drop,’ that also provides the title of this compilation, was produced by music business veteran Johnny Otis together with his son, guitar-star and incredibly underated solo artist Shuggie Otis. Nice shrink-wrapped slip-case packaging. COMP CD $8 SKU:16375

MCKAY-Into You (WEEDBURNER- One of the holy grails of 70s Indianapolis private-pressdom ) -Label:LION w Updated liner notes and exactly-transcribed lyrics. One of the "holy grails" of Indianapolis private-pressdom (surpassed only by Zerfas and Anonymous) available again in its original format! Ray "McKay" Pierle and his musically-adept brothers and friends partied, jammed and partied some more on Indy's south side throughout the mid-70's, forming a band (Loos) which managed to garner zero media attention at the time. However, Ray's trusty Teac four-track was always close at hand and countless hours of home recordings were induced onto magnetic tape, as well as a few songs laid down at a local studio. After a brief hiatus, the core members reconvened as McKay, and created their sole document, the 300-press "Into You" album (1978); the LP was given to friends and family and consigned in nearby record shoppes. A mere 15 years had to pass before the collecting world discovered the highly-personal songwriting, tight playing, and not-so-well-hidden West-Coast stylistic touches. A vinyl reissue was locally produced back then but it's long gone, so here's a new all analogue, master tape edition for a new generation to savor. •All-analogue pressing, cut directly from the original master tapes. •Licensed from Ray Pierle with his full cooperation and support. •Updated liner notes and exactly-transcribed lyrics.
