NEW ARRIVALS AND RESTOCKS
BUZZSAW - FROM LEMON DROPS TO ACID ROCK (DOUBLE LP 70s garage psych w liners) -Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) Soon after relocating to the west-coast, Chicago's legendary garage-psych youngsters THE LEMON DROPS (of 'I Live In The Spring Time'-fame) disbanded. Eddie and Gary Weiss then put together 3-piece Buzzsaw. In 1971 Max Weiss, Creedence Clearwater Revival's manager, expressed interest in the band. As a result Buzzsaw entered the Ampex and Pacific Sound studios in San Francisco to lay down some tracks. All of these recordings were produced by Roger Weiss, the original producer of The Lemon Drops and co-owner of Rembrandt Records. Sadly, Buzzsaw only released one 45 during their short lifespan. This Buzzsaw double vinyl retrospective includes all the tracks from the previous 'From Lemon Drops To Acid Rock' CD, plus some amazing songs from recently discovered acetates and unreleased master tapes. The music is orgasmic '71 heavy-psych and proto-grunge in the style of Hendrix and Blue Cheer, with killer fuzz-wah guitar parts and melodic vocals. This double-LP comes with remastered sound and liner notes by Roger Weiss. LP $36 SKU:16609
HAWKWIND-Leave No Star Unturned: Cambridge January, 1972 (Colored Vinyl) -Label:DIRTER PROMOTIONS (UK) Deluxe 150 gram dark blue colored vinyl (gloss laminate sleeve). Dirter Promotions presents on double vinyl a previously-unheard and unreleased live Hawkwind show from the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1972. "Though the tapes were listened to in the weeks after the show, Lucas and Kemp upgraded their recording equipment to half-inch a few months later and the quarter-inch reels disappeared, thought perhaps to be lost forever. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. In 1985, a reel was unearthed at Spaceward Studios, noted to contain the Syd Barrett element of the show plus 'parts of the Hawkwind and Pink Fairies sets,' and in 2005 a second copy of the recordings was unearthed in a collection of tapes stored in Gary Lucas' attic. It's the Lucas tape, via an appearance on the auction lists at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, which has enabled the release of this pivotal show. Dirter Promotions is very pleased to present these recordings, cleaned-up and remastered, enabling Hawkwind's dedicated fan base to experience the band in full flow, poised to fly high and fly far, making the very concept of space-rock their own in perpetuity." --Ian Abrahams (taken from sleeve notes). Features "classic line-up" members Dave Brock, Nik Turner, Lemmy and Robert Calvert. LP $38 SKU:16624

DESTROY ALL MONSTERS - Hot Box 1974-1994 2CD w booklet, photos, and unseen artwork - Label:MUNSTER RECORDS (SPAIN) Includes a generously-illustrated booklet featuring photos and artwork never seen before. All tracks have been remastered from recently discovered tapes. Destroy All Monsters are known by some for their role as a bastion of resistance of Detroit's rock; for being, during their second period, the band in which Ron Asheton would reappear. For others, they are a pivotal reference point in the copious but relatively unknown avant-garde underground from the same city, after Thurston Moore and Byron Coley dug up their first recordings in 1996 and the original line-up reunited. Destroy All Monsters comprises two complementary and interconnected poles throughout the saga of the Motor City's music scene, from the University of Michigan's Cooperative Studio for Electronic Music to The Stooges, through to the White Panther Party. In its two incarnations, the experimental -- led by Cary Loren, Jim Shaw and Mike Kelley -- and the high energy one -- with Asheton and Michael Davis from MC5, both featuring the phantasmagorical Niagara in the role of doped-up priestess, Destroy All Monsters are the object of one of the most devotional cults of America's cultural underground, as testified by their abundant artistic and record production. Hot Box 1974-1994 is the first anthology to bring together the best outcome of those two hemispheres, including much unreleased material. CD $24 SKU:16096

MARKLEY- A Group ( Final LP by US psych legends the WCPAEB) - Label:AURORA Reissue on CD of what was actually the 5th and final album by W.C.P.A.E.B. album but singer/womanizer Bob Markley thought it nesseccary to release it under his own name, as a showcase for his various dementias. MARMALADE - There’s a Lot About It ( 70s Beatles syle ) mini lp cover w OBI STRIP - Label:AIR MAIL RECORDS Marmalade is one of those groups that just seems to endure. They are best remembered today for one record, their cover of the Beatles' "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," although they charted number one records and even Top Ten American singles into the 1970s. The group, especially as constituted up through the early '70s, had many sides, including white soul, harmony dominated pop/rock, and progressive pop, all very much like the Beatles in their middle years. However, it was their cover of a Beatles song, oddly enough, that weighed down their reputation. TRACKLISTINGS ON SITE CD $18 SKU:11347

Great guitar work and a straightforward style that pays homage to basement-driven, beer-battered, saxophone-thickened rock n' roll. If you want pensive lyrics, go to Target.” - Bruno Westover/Left of the Dial CD $5 SKU:2241
MASTERS APPRENTICES- VOl 2 APPRENTICESHIP IN THE GARAGE, 1966 ( 60s Garage ) 8-page foldout leaflet with boss pix -Label:NICKOFF \With manager Graham Longley’s reel-to-reel recorder perched on top of a car, the night was captured for posteriety; the bounty would not begin to emerge from the garage (literally, that’s where Graham stored the tapes) until 2004, with the release of the CD ‘From Mustangs To Masters–First Year Apprentices’.
Further rampaging material from that long-ago evening is presented in this new release: the band plays apprentice to such masters as Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Howlin’ Wolf, as well as tackling then-new material by fellow acolytes like the Rolling Stones (whom they’d recently seen in live in concert), the Pretty Things, Animals and Them.

- "'Is That Your Halo' is an intensely menacing punker that rumbles into Yardbirds' rave-up territory at the bridge where incendiary leads battle with rasping harmonica; 'State of Your Mind' is an almost equally powerful acid-punker -- truly a double-whammy of a 45." --Fuzz, Acid and Flowers
The Bitter Seeds were one of the pioneering bands from the early Monterey music scene. Led by flashy guitar player Leonard "Pooch" Paschini, they were active from 1966 to 1970, gigging regularly at such legendary venues as Bull's Eye Tavern, Longshoremen's Hall, The Matrix, and The Fillmore and sharing stages with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly, and Steppenwolf. In 1967, The Bitter Seeds recorded their only 45, issued on Rowena Records as The Rock Shop to avoid confusion with The Seeds. State of Your Mind/Is That Your Halo is a brutal garage-psych double-sider. The following year the group recorded four studio tracks that have remained unreleased until now. These are perfect examples of the transition from R&B-garage to early psychedelic sounds that many San Francisco ballroom bands experienced at the time. An exciting find for any lover of lost West Coast psychedelic sounds. For this Bitter Seeds/Rock Shop retrospective, Out-Sider has also unearthed some wild live recordings from 1966 with good sound quality. Includes four-page insert with liner notes, photos, and memorabilia. Remastered sound. LP $28 SKU:16537

Their 1978 s/t LP offered an exciting mixture of punk, powerpop and pubrock. RAINBOW PRESS- There's a War On (68 psych insert with liners ) -Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) Out-Sider presents the first legit reissue of There's a War On by The Rainbow Press, a cool US '68 psychedelic concept album with all the right moves: solid songwriting, refreshing harmonies, studio effects, organ, fuzz guitar, electric piano, sunshine/baroque touches -- think The Rainy Daze, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Doors. The Rainbow Press evolved from The Continental Divide, a college band from New York containing members from two previous British invasion groups: The Group and The Specs. They were Bill Yergin on drums, Dave Troup on bass, Larry Milton on electric piano and 12-string guitar, Marc Ellis on guitar, Charlie Osborne on organ, and Joe Groff on vocals. All the members sang vocal harmonies and the twin electric piano/organ action gave the band an unusual and cool sound. In 1968, Audio Fidelity approached them and a contract was secured. The band changed their name to the more groovy-sounding The Rainbow Press and sessions for their first album started at Radio City in New York. There's a War On saw the light in 1968 on the Mr. G label (the "hip" branch of Audio Fidelity). It's hard to believe this perfectly recorded psychedelic beauty was made by college students! Remastered sound; includes insert with liner notes telling the band's story for the first time. LP $30 SKU:16564
