BRAZDA BROTHERS - Time Is Only A Setting Sun (1977) CD
HALLUCINATION/ You Can Take Me Real HigH CD single reissue of their rare 1977 single — the only follow-up to their mesmerizing album from 1973, which featured acoustic material with bursts of electric guitar and keyboards — some great acid fuzz guitar work. The ultra-rare Brazda Brothers album stands shoulder to shoulder with other much better known similar sounding lost classics of the time such as Relatively Clean Rivers, Rodriguez's "Cold Fact," and Jim Sullivan's “UFO". With their laid-back attitude, sunny rural vibe, and unique voices, the brothers crafted the perfect album for a lazy summer afternoon. 'Time Is Only A Setting Sun’ has a good rollicking folk/rock vibe, with droney keyboard sounds adding a weird element to the mix; ‘You Can Take Me Real High’ has a similar weed-burner vibe to the McKay “Into You” album, if one is looking for a reasonable comparable.
